I received a free copy of, I Love Disney's Magic Kingdom, by Danielle Kelly; Ian Wilson, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book was written by a former Disney cast member, and Disney fan, about the Magic Kingdom, there is trivia, and so much to learn about the Magic Kingdom. I really enjoyed this book.

This is partially a history book, but also a gentle park guide compiled by a former Cast Member who knows countless tips, tricks, and trivia about the parks. I’m calling this a “gentle” park guide because while there are some useful practical tips for a day at Magic Kingdom, that’s not the main focus. It feels more like you’re strolling through the park with a docent who has lots of behind-the-scenes knowledge.
The book includes an illustrated map of Magic Kingdom and each section focuses a different land within the park (including Main Street USA). The sections include descriptions and historical tidbits for attractions, food vendors, souvenir vendors, and other interesting features. There are also trip planning tips and trivia questions sprinkled throughout. There is an index at the back to help you quickly find specific information as well.
Overall, I found this book to be fun and informative. I’m hoping more will follow for the other parks.

Thank you to Adams Media and to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
This book is full of information for your next trip (or first) to Disney World. This book is really informative and laid out well.

A fun read for Disney newbies and Disney Pros alike. I didn't realize when I received this book that it was by the Dapper Danielle. I love her TikToks. Anyway a fun read. Did I learn anything new...not really. did I enjoy the book....yes. My biggest complaint is this book was released right before Walt Disney starts its expansion with the all new villains land. This book will become outdated very quickly.

I Love Disney's Magic Kingdom is the perfect book to read as you prepare for your next Disney Vacation. There is no shortage of WDW tips and tricks books on the market, but Kelly and Wilson were able to set their book apart from the rest. Not only is I Love Disney's Magic Kingdom filled with tons of facts and tips, but the use of the "Extra Magic" and "Park Pointer" boxes was a great way to throw a little extra "magic" into each section. As a self-proclaimed Walt Disney World nerd, I also enjoyed the additional quizzes that popped up occasionally, some of which were new to me! I also wanted to point out the fantastic illustrated map of the Magic Kingdom featured at the beginning of the book!

I have seen Dapper Danielle on a number of Instagram reels with one of the people I follow, so the first thing that struck me about this book was that it was written (co-written) by her. Off I went to check out her Instagram and was still on the fence about following her. So, I went back to the book. While guide books of Disney are nothing new, and even guide books with fun facts are also on the market already - I have read a few of both - this book struck me because it was not overwhelming in the amount of information it profited. Kelly and Wilson really tried to walk you through the park in a way that made geographic sense and touched on all of the rides and attractions. But stye did it without getting too in the weeds. A light touch that presented each ride, places to eat, and places to shop with some interesting history or context but more a rationale for why you would want to go there. I was surprised by a few reveals - won't spoiler them here - about things that I did not notice and will have to track down the next time I'm at Magic Kingdom. I also sent my husband some information about a path that I had not walked only to be informed by him that we did actually go that route. My sense of direction and recall are not the best apparently. What I appreciated most about this book was its ability to guide and explain without getting prescriptive. If you want to go here to eat, here's what you'll find and what they are known for. If you want to skip it or skip the mean recommendation, not a big deal because here are other options on the way. The book also presents tips on, for example, when wait times are likely lowest, to trivia and lesser known facts. It was ultimately the lesser known facts that sold me on this book, because it gives you something to look up and maybe think about as you wander through the park.
If you have never been to Magic Kingdom and are looking for something to help you get acclimated, this is a great book. If you have been or have picked up guide books before, this one is a solid recommendation and well worth thumbing through to find out things you may not have known. I still want to get a Hidden Mickey book as a bit of a quest, but I do think that this book has enough facts and info to let you start a different quest through the park that is equally rewarding. Kudos to The Dapper Danielle.
After I finished this book, I followed her on Instagram.

I’m a huge Disney World fan. We have gone a few times but it was pre Covid, so I was excited to read a book that would help me have a happy memory of our past trips. There are lots of great details about each part of the park, from historical points to tips on where to get the best snacks. There are fun trivia questions sprinkled throughout the chapters. I did learn some new things about the history as well as a few new places to that I want to stop at when we return. Handy little guide to have before an upcoming trip.
Thanks NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book

A fun read for Disney fans, even if you think you know it all! I've lived in Orlando for the last decade and spent the two decades prior visiting Walt Disney World semi-annually and was surprised at some of the fun facts and easter eggs even I didn't know existed thanks to this book.
When I was younger, I would read various Disney trivia books and guidebooks to scratch that itch in between our family visits. This reminded me of that in a combined format! There's great tips for first-time visitors and fun trivia for repeat fans. I'd love to see this expanded as a series for other theme parks.
Note: Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free, digital ARC of the book in exchange for my honest review and to support an upcoming interview on our podcast, The Book of the Mouse Club. I also love Disney’s Magic Kingdom, so I was very excited to read this from Danielle! Danielle did a very good job of walking through each land in Magic Kingdom and highlighting the attractions and other parts of the land.
This book would be great for someone who was visiting Magic Kingdom for the first time, doesn’t go very frequently, or hadn’t been in a while.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC.

‘Random Disney things in the middle of the night that you probably don’t care about but I’m gonna tell you anyway’
A great book full of insightful tips and stories that even someone who has been to Walt Disney World multiple times can enjoy. I love this book. Have followed Danielle on Tik Tok for many years.

When i heard Danielle was doing a book, i couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Discovered via tiktok for her history facts on the parks has translated into this informative and fun book on Magic Kingdom. I do how they continue to work together on the other parks

Such a cute, easy, fun read! I am a Disney lover, but have never been to Disney world! I know the travesty right?! I have been wanting to plan my trip and I had such a good time reading all of the fun exciting things to do that I probably other wise would have missed! After, reading this i definitely know that there are somethings I’ve added to my Disney to-do list
The trivia was an added extra bonus!
If you’re planing your next your next Disney trip, don’t skip this book! Danielle has such a unique and fun voice in this everything you need to know guide of Disney!
Thank you so much for gifting me a copy to review!

“I Love Disney’s Magic Kingdom” takes you on a counter clockwise tour around the Magic Kingdom (Counter clockwise? Why? Read the book and find out!) with attraction descriptions and tips for readers to plan for their upcoming Disney vacation. Danielle Kelly uses her former cast member expertise and friendly personality to give an engaging tour around the Kingdom that preserves the magic of Disney while also giving readers a glimpse backstage.
I appreciated the accessibility of the book. The icons differentiating attractions, food, history, Park Pointers, Extra Magic, and trivia neatly organized the book and Danielle transitions seamlessly from one section to the next. Its layout makes it easy to flip back and forth to re-find information which is necessary for a guide book. At no point did I feel overwhelmed by information that can happen with other guide books. This guide book isn’t an overwhelming checklist for planning a Disney vacation, but a walk around the park with a friend who will make you excited about visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Newcomers to the Kingdom will also feel like Disney insiders with some Extra Magic and Trivia shared by Danielle. Even frequent visitors to Disney, like myself, will learn something new. The trivia was my favorite part of the book. And if you follow Danielle Kelly, aka Dapper Danielle, on social media, you will recognize her humor and excitement from her online content in her writing which makes the book so inviting.
Note: Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free, digital ARC of the book. My cohost, Courtney, and I were given access to the book to review on our podcast, The Book of the Mouse Club, and to prepare for an interview with the author, Danielle Kelly coming later in April to wherever you get your podcasts.

Extremely helpful and interesting tips for Disney enthusiasts. I cannot wait to go to Disney and try out these tips and tricks.
It was so nice to read about Disney and provide some sense of magic whilst not able to be in the park!

Extensive book about all things Disney.
Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

Danielle Kelly’s love and appreciation for Disney history shines through in this unofficial guide to the Magic Kingdom. Her unique voice and humor was present through out the book. There are so many hidden details across the park that are frequently overlooked. Danielle highlights those details while adding additional insight into the Disney company history and park/ride development.
I loved the little bits of insight on the attractions that can be found in multiple parks. As someone a bit more familiar with Disneyland it was an added bonus that there are details that are applicable to both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom.
The trivia quizzes are a great addition.
Will definitely be recommending to friends and family for their next trip or any Disney enthusiast!
Thank you to the publisher for providing an e-arc via NetGalley.

This is such a lovely 'starter pack' to visiting Walt Disney World. Part biography, part guidebook...with a few quizzes thrown in, this is a great little package of interesting details and facts to help you get the most out of your trip to Disney! Im a bit of a Disney geek so a lot of the info included here was known to me but i still enjoyed the experience.

This book will appeal to the child in ALL of us, whether we be six or sixty, and would be the perfect gift as well as a great resource for those looking to plan a trip or in the midst of planning one. It’s also the perfect addition to every Disney addicts at-home library! This book is many things — fascinating historical facts, extremely current information on the park today, fun trivia, and an answer to so many questions fans have about Magic Kingdom Park!
My favorite? The bits of *extra magic* sprinkled throughout the book. These are more often than not the things that are easily overlooked at magic kingdom - those little, fun Easter eggs that Disney is so kind to gift us with. And that the author is patient enough to share with us in detail.
Park pointers in the book cover topics that range from pin trading, unique places to watch the fireworks from, hidden walking routes within the park, tips on making reservations for sit down restaurants, as well as helpful & fun information to use during character meet and greets. These park pointers even go so far as to helping us make the most magic on our Disney trips, even tips that extend to the Halloween and Christmas parties!
The map of Magic Kingdom in the front of the book as well as the index in the back are both such helpful tools to what you’re looking for quickly.
This book is a 10/10 and enjoyable from beginning to end whether this is your first introduction to Magic Kingdom Park or if you consider it an old friend by this point. You’ll learn something and you will smile while doing it!

There is so much detail at Disney Parks that it is easy to overlook, this book will help you to find these hidden gems.
From the behind the scenes facts, to the trivia, quizzes, and all of the little details about beloved rides, there is so much to love and learn in this book. I Love Disney's Magic Kingdom is the perfect park read whether it's your first visit to the parks or your 1,000th!
*Thank you to NetGalley and Adams Media for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I will start this out by saying I am a lifetime lover of WDW, Disney, and Disney history. I have been going to Disney World since I was a baby so I have 30+years of Disney knowledge and experience. I specifically wanted to check out this book because I love @dapperdanielle so much and somehow still learn so much from her extensive Disney knowledge. This is fantastic guide with great little known facts and lots of tips dusted through out. I even learned a couple things! I think anyone from first time visitors to lifetime park goers can learn something from this book and I would recommend picking it up before you make your trip. I hope she does one for each of the WDW parks, I would love to learn more behind the scenes magic from all of them!
Thank you NetGalley and Adams Media for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
