When I began this book, I thought that I knew exactly where it would go and how exactly it would take me there. Instead, this awesomely powerful protagonist unfolded, bringing with him a complex cast of surrounding characters. The plot, which easily could have been predictable and trite, was fresh in all it's gut-punching brilliance. This was a book I sped eagerly through in the span of 24 hours or less, hanging desperately to every word. A must-read.

If you're hoping for a hopeful book with a happy ending where everything works out alright for the protagonist....uh...you may want to look elsewhere. But if you don't mind bleak, then this is the book for you.

This was a great book for me. I read roughly 100 - 150 books a year and so far this is right up there high on that list. Recommend for anyone

Crazy book about a subject that is so widely known and an epidemic that I fear we will never get rid of! Great book though!

This is a fantastic debut novel, beautifully written with great characters and a wonderful sense of place. Recommend to all
