This is exactly what novellas should be. We had background, depth, understanding, growth. Then flipping to present day, we have suspense, questions, and one heck of an ending! This author does a great job of selling the story and getting you hooked for the continuation in book 2.

The story line here isn’t anything new, girl falls for brother’s/her best friend and vise versa. What is new though is how well this was done for how few pages it was.

I really liked that there wasn’t any drawn out confusion between these two. It was simple. Yes you’re my best friend, but you’re also everything I want. Boom, love it. Plus where were guys like this when I was in highschool?!

I will say I would wish for maybe one or two more scenes of these two together to help solidify those feelings instead of just getting the “I’ve always loved you”, to give us more insight, but there’s also a possibility this happens in the next book with flashbacks. The current day portion was my favourite so that I would definitely look forward to in the next book, plus possible second chance???? Angst?? We shall see!

If you need a satisfying quick read, give this one a shot.

"Grayson Ford and Emma Kinglsey—close since they were kids, opposites in every way. He’s the stuff high school crushes are made of, Mister Popular, and captain of every team. She’s artsy, cute, and not in his league, though fully aware of Summerland’s "I Dream of Dating Grayson Ford" support group."

Only For Him gives us a quick introduction to Cristin Harber's new characters, Grayson and Emma.
For a YA Novella Series, it is pretty well done and the idea of a novella series is also fun because you don't get a lot of them. The plot is short (obviously), sweet, with quite the cliffhanger that leaves you wanting for more.

Note:- Due to the restrictive development that is common for a novella I rarely rate them over 3. However, the cliffhanger will get that extra point 5.

I had to read the first chapter twice which i don't really know why. but oh my gosh. this story was just amazing. I say that about alot of books but this story had me by the heart strings. I just love it so. it's a very short part of the only series. but the ending to this story was just jaw dropping wow. 70 pages to this book and I just want more. starting book 2 now.
