Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an ALC (Advanced Listening Copy) of I'm Here to Help.

Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. I didn’t feel connected to the characters and only felt mildly interested in the plot/Frankie’s journey. I considered not finishing a couple of times. I feel like there were some plot holes that needed explanation as well.

I enjoyed the narrator for the most part however there were several times I was questioning if the main character was speaking aloud or if it was her inner monologue.

This worked so well I was immediately engrossed and like a good thriller it is not what you expect. The characters were well drawn out and I just had to keep listening as it was so engrossing. The narration was perfect.

Do I primarily read domestic thrillers? Yes
Do I love a good Lifetime movie? Yes
Did I use the movie The Hand That Rocks The Cradle in order to be a stay at home mom WITHOUT A NANNY? Uh, yes

I am a sucker for the genre with a sick mom, young kids, roaming eye husband and perky little nanny come to solve all the problem. This one had the addition of a really awful mother in law. Love it! Also trying really hard to not be that woman to my sweet daughter in law. Thanks books for teaching me who not to be.

I'm Here to Help on audio was fast-paced, a lot of moving parts, twists and turns and an ending I didn't see coming. Fast read and an absolute must for your beach bag this summer.

This book hooked me from the very first sentence. The storyline felt completely original—unlike anything I’d read before. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the twist proved me wrong.

I really admire the author’s creativity and how effortlessly they kept me invested in the characters’ lives from the moment they were introduced.

I was genuinely surprised to learn this was her debut novel when I went to add more of her books to my TBR list.

With gratitude to Netgalley & Bookouture Audio for this ELC in return for an honest review.

This was almost as I anticipated a relatively slow burn initially, but then things really take off, and this psychological thriller is precisely that. This is a genre I tend to listen to or have done most of essentially in the past, and it fits precisely in that category.

Frankie is expecting her 2nd child whilst she has a toddler at home and dealing with hyperemis making her extremely nauseous every day, there are possible further issues with her pregnancy meaning she really has to rest and take it easy. So when her husband Russ suggests a nanny, she comes around to the idea, although initially it doesn't sit well with her. Frankie wants to be healthy doing her own life with her family. Instead, she is going to have to take a backseat while someone else comes into her home and almost takes over.

Frankie never had the best relationship with her mother in law so when Jasmine the nanny seems to get on exceedingly well with her and everyone else, including her daughter, she really feels slighted.

There are various twists and turns that lead Frankie to sensing something is very wrong with this set up and of course immediately she believes there is a problem with the nanny who was simply there to help or was she..? Is it possible that she has a hidden agenda or is someone else behind the issues Frankie faces...

This was well narrated. It flowed well with all characters being easily disnguishable and brought something different in their own way to the storyline. There were moments where I began to think could this be what's happening or that as we all often do with these types of genre however it kept me intrigued and invested throughout.

Good luck & best wishes with publication on 11th April 2025 🙏🏼❤️📚🎧

I really enjoyed that this book kept me guessing. I went into it thoroughly expecting one outcome and kept having to second-guess whether that was actually happening or not.

Frankie, who is struggling with her pregnancy with her second child has a tumultuous relationship with her mother in law, but takes her up on the offer to employ a nanny for her eldest while Frankie is having a rough go. While Frankie doesn't love the idea, she tries to accept the help but from the moment Jasmine shows up, Frankie is suspicious. She thinks Jasmine is trying to make her daughter like her more, thinks Jasmine is trying to steal her husband, and absolutely hates that her mother in law seems to adore her. What is Jasmines real motive here?

The book is fast-paced and suspenseful, it really makes you want to push through and finish the book because it always feels like something is on the verge of happening, and it actually does. This would be such a great vacation read, a mental escape that keeps your brain working right up until that last twist.

The narration by Elizabeth Bower was fantastic, thanks to NetGalley for an audio arc.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bookouture audio for my copy of I'm Here to Help by Claire Lunn
Narrated by Elizabeth Bower in exchange for an honest review. It publishes April 11, 2025.
First off, Elizabeth Bower is such a talented narrator, I will definitely be watching for more of her work.
Oh my goodness, I think I listened to this book in under 48 hours. I was GRIPPED. I couldn’t stop thinking about this book, and my house is so clean, because I could not stop listening to it. It’s been awhile since a book had me that captivated.
The twists and turns had me absolutely shocked, but not in a way that made it ridiculous or distracted. It was a perfectly threaded masterpiece!
I also really appreciated that a trigger warning was added to the beginning.

I’m Here to Help is a fast-paced domestic thriller. I enjoyed the dual point of views that unraveled the mystery as we made our way through the book. In some ways, this was predictable, but had a nice twist on a common thriller theme. The characters all had flaws and made questionable choices which left you guessing who was really at fault throughout the novel.
The narrator, Elizabeth Bower, did a fabulous job giving different voices to all of the characters. The narrator can really make or break a novel, and this narrator made it.
Thank you Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

An engrossing domestic thriller that keeps the pace up the whole way through.

I'm not adding a synopsis as this is available so just my opinion.

It always adds interest to have some characters with zero redeeming features and this has them in spades.

The protagonist is feeling very ill throughout which you can imagine increasing vulnerability. The main 'baddie' is fairly easily identifiable but this doesn't detract in any way from the storyline.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC which was very much appreciated.

There is so many twists and turns, gaslighting, questions that are raised during this book that when it all comes to a closure, it just leaves you sitting there thinking, and for me, the closure that it brought brought a smile to my face also. The basis of the story is that a woman is pregnant with severe hyper emisis. Which essentially means severe morning sickness. She is so sick that she’s having a hard time keeping up with her toddler or her house or work or anything. So for of course, brilliant and handsome surgeon husband and his family decided that it would be a great idea to bring in some help. Notice they decided not she. And at first the person they hired seems wonderful. She is helpful. She is sweet. She is adored by the toddler. But perhaps she’s a little too perfect? Given that previously the perfect husband had an issue with infidelity. This is a constant nag at the back of her mind. This beautiful, gorgeous young woman has now moved into her house And they just seem too familiar. Is there something more or is it just insecurities and the past nagging at her.

The characters took a little bit to develop. The lead honestly came off as a whiny incompetent individual who could not seem to think for herself. Unless she was making a decision off of paranoid and potentially delusional assumptions. There is such a thing as the obvious, but she was oblivious. In the end now, she does everything that she needs to do.

Jasmine, the now live in nanny is somebody that you want to hate, you love to hate, you just can’t trust. Everything about her is just too much. She’s too perfect, too educated, too beautiful, too easily put into Frankie’s place in the family.

The husband, yes, he has a name and it’s Russ, but it doesn’t matter for all the somewhat doting overconfident pretentious individual he is, you end up, hating him for full reason. He’s constantly gaslighting Frankie or belittling her. He is a mama‘s boy and takes full advantage of that while playing both sides. He is the kind of person that we need to urge all women to watch out for, and to be aware.

I don’t have as much to say about his mother Petunia, but she sucks too. Just a horrid individual like the mother-in-law everyone dreads.

By the end, everything that you think you know is different. I ended up loving Jasmine, thinking Frankie was a bit pathetic of an individual and absolutely hating Ross. I would recommend this book to others and I really enjoyed listening to the audio version. Thanks NetGalley for the opportunity. #netgalley

A BIG thank you to #NetGalley and #BookoutureAudio for sending my the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

📖 About the book: Main character Frankie is happily married with an adorable 2 year old daughter named Olivia and another baby on the way.
When things at home start to get stressful for Frankie and awful nausea and morning sickness take over her body, Frankie’s loving husband Russ suggests they get a live in nanny to help out around the house and with Olivia.
Frankie is very happy to accept the help, and that’s when Jasmine comes into her life.
At first Jasmine seems like such a blessing and she a wonderful help to Frankie. But then Frankie starts to get very uneasy feelings about Jasmine. She feels like Jasmine is trying to take over her life and get her out of the picture.
One day when Frankie tries to confront her, she has an “accident” and falls down the stairs. But right before she fell she swears she remembers seeing Jasmine smile. Did Jasmine push her?
Frankie wakes up in the hospital fine and baby is fine too. When she tries telling Russ about her suspicious about Jasmine, he tells her she’s being paranoid.
Frankie needs to find away to prove to Russ what Jasmine is trying to do, but then she starts receiving anonymous notes telling her that’s she’s in danger and needs to get her and Olivia out of the house.
You’ll have to read the book yourself to find out more!

🤔 What I thought: I literally finished this book in one day! It grabbed me right from the start and I couldn’t stop listening! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and the twist at the end really got me! I very highly recommend this book, and I’d rate this one 5 stars!

Story is told from the POV of Frankie - the wife and Jasmine – the nanny.

Frankie Minette is pregnant with her second child and is struggling with hyperemesis.
Her toddler Oliva is truly going through the “Trying Threes” She is delightful but ’needs constant supervision.
Frankie’s husband Russ is a physician and very controlling; which is no surprise once we meet his mother Petunia;who is very rude and really doesn’t like Frankie. She decides they need a live-in nanny. In fact, Jasmine the daughter of a close friend is chosen. Jasmine is in her early twenties - beautiful, intelligent and capable – she has experience and is a graduated program studying child psychology.
Frankie believes Jasmine seems ideal but needs a trial period before being offer the position. However, when Jasmine handles an emergency situation the first day, Russ offers her the position- of, course, without consulting Frankie. Doesn’t take long for Frankie to have mixed feelings – appreciation of Jasmine’s help but also jealous of her and somewhat worried Jasmine is trying to get rid of her and steal her family!
As I read on I feared Frankie was so jealous of Jasmine she is imagining that everyone hates her.
The cover blurb states . . .
Is she here to save you - or destroy you?

The ending was a surprise that I liked.

Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for granted me this audiobook.

4.5 ⭐️ | I love stories that make me think, what if. I continued to ask this several times throughout this book. This author did a great job of building tension & suspense!

The story follows Frankie & Russ, as they prepare for the arrival of their new baby while also trying to manage their 3 year old daughter and Russ’s demanding career as a doctor. When Russ and his mother suggest they hire Jasmine as a nanny, Frankie has her reservations, but allows Jasmine to come on board as she is a long time friend of her Russ & her in-laws. When strange occurrences began to take place, Frankie is unsure who she can trust, as she appears to be unsafe in her own home. Is someone trying to harm her and her children or is this just a difficult pregnancy & making her read too much into things? She feels that something sinister is going on. She just can’t pinpoint exactly what it is.

Overall, a great story that makes me want to dive into more titles from this author. This was a perfect paced story that laid just enough foundation to appreciate how the story unfolded. I loved it so much, I went to add more from this author and imagine my surprise to discover this was their debut novel. She came out the gate swinging!! Great narration in this audiobook, very thought provoking read, that I highly recommend for fans of domestic thrillers. Thank you Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for this advanced listening copy. All opinions are my own.

Firstly, huge appreciation to the author for the content warning ⚠️

I really enjoyed I’m Here To Help, it was a fast paced and quick listen.

Frankie is pregnant with her second child, her mother in law may well be a nightmare, but she has encouraged Russ to employ a nanny for Olivia while Frankie is struggling. Frankie is less than delighted by the prospect, yet she relents because she really does need the help.

Things are all a bit grim, Olivia loves Jasmin, but Frankie’s sickness isn’t improving, in fact things are getting worse, add to that the suspicion that Jasmin is more than a bit keen on Russ and the continual convenient accidents that Frankie is having, it all points to Jasmin and her want to take over Frankie’s life………

This was well written, well researched and had a killer twist.

The narration by Elizabeth Bower was fantastic 🎧

Huge thanks to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ALC 🎧

Amazing. I loved every minute of this book. I listened to it on netgalley, and the narrator was epic she really did an awesome job.
A little bit of Child abuse but doesn't go into detail.
I couldn't put it down, it had me on tenterhooks at some of the things that go on. The twist was not expected until nearer the end but still so worth a read.

5 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Wow what a ride.
After Franny has an accident, Russ, her controlling/gaslighting husband and his horrible mother hire beautiful Jasmine to be the live-in nanny to care for their toddler, Olivia.

Strange things start to happen and Franny unravels secrets and a past history between Russ and the nanny and Franny begins to suspect that Jasmine wants her life.

This story is un-put-downable, jaw-dropping, suspenseful, twisty and sucks you in from the first page.

This is my first Claire Dunn book and it won't be my last. I am officially a fan.

Once again, thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for this ARC audiobook.

Man what a ride! I love books that start in the present in a crazy situation then pulls you right back to the past to the lead up of it all. This was definitely a what the heck is going on I need to know type book. I also loved the dual povs in this book. If you love Riley sager, Greer Hendricks, and Alice freeney this will be right up your alley! Fast paced read that doesn’t get boring which is always a plus! Can’t wait to see what is next for this author!

My first ever ARC reads and it did NOT disappoint!! The story had me hooked from the moment I read the description until the very end of the book. It made me so mad (in the best way) while reading everything Frankie was going through. The characters and plot were done so well.

The audiobook was fantastic! One thing to note is the flashbacks confused me a bit and I had to rewind to understand what was happening.

I will for sure be reading anything Claire Lunn comes out with in the future!
