Rylan Flynn has fast become one of my favourite protagonists and this series is EVERYTHING! I may not have started on book one, but it didn't take long to become addicted!

Merriman took us straight back into the thick of the action where we left off in the previous book, and it was all systems go right to the end!

On the romance front Rylan and Ford are more on than off! Will book seven be giving us the ending we all want?

The Burning Soul is the sixth book in the Ryan Flynn series. In this installment, Merriman delivers an engrossing and mysterious tale that keeps readers hooked from start to finish. Once again, ghost hunter Ryan Flynn is called upon to use her skills to solve a murder, clear her friend's name, and help a few spirits to cross over.

In this installment, Rylan witnesses the ghost of a young woman outside of a burning house. Soon after, the charred remains of the young woman are discovered in the burnt-out house. It so happens that the house belongs to a friend of Rylan. To make matters worse, the friend once dated the victim, making him a viable suspect. Rylan sets out to find the truth behind the fire. To complicate matters, the evil entity trapped in her home for years has escaped.

The Burning Soul is chock-full of twists and turns designed to keep readers on their toes. Merriman keeps her readers engaged by creating a suspenseful and atmospheric tale.


The tale kept me engaged and we learn more about the evil entity that escaped from Rylan's home. Rylan's and Ford's relationship hit a roadblock in the previous book. However, we see them moving forward and everything seems to be going fine for them in this installment.

The mystery wrapped up nicely; however, the end speaks of interesting things to come. I look forward to seeing what Merriman has in store for the next installment.

This is the fourth book I have read by this author. It is also the sixth book in the 'Rylan Flynn Mystery' series. It can be read as a standalone but to get the most of the character development I would recommend you read the books in order.

OMG!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK AND SERIES, AN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT ADDITION AND CONTINUATION IN ONE OF THE BEST BOOK SERIES I HAVE EVER READ!!! MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS DAWN ON ANOTHER EXPLOSIVE PAGE TURNER!!!!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A UNIQUE PAGE TURNER GRAB YOUR COPY TODAY!

This book is extremely well written with vivid descriptions that really put you in the storyline, feeling the hair on your arms raise and putting you on the edge of your seat!!!

I would like to start by saying this book is more paranormal, thriller, ghost and horror than Sci-Fi so if you are a paranormal, ghost story or love a spooky book that will raise the hair on your arms and not a Sci-Fi or fantasy fan please give this book a read. Trust me, you really won't regret it!! In fact, it doesn't matter what genre you like to read give it a read!!! I have no idea how I did it but I have missed a few books in this series and although they can all be read as standalones I am not normally a fan of reading books out of order. However, there is a silver lining if you have not read any of the previous books in this series and that is when you have become addicted after reading this book (which you will), while you are waiting for the next guaranteed page turner in this series to be released you can read the previous books that you have missed! Make sure you start soon though as the next book in this amazing series is already available to preorder NOW!! It is called 'The Last Haunting' and will be published on the 22nd August!! In this brilliant "episode" of the 'Rylan Flynn Mystery' series we meet up with Rylan Flynn again. For those who have not read any of these gripping books yet Rylan can see ghosts and spirits and she helps them to solve the mysteries that they need help with. Rylan along with Mickey have a YouTube channel where Mickey records Rylan's movements when she senses and sees spirits and ghosts. Although this is the sixth book in the series I would have had absolutely no problems reading it without any of the other books in this series. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.

The characters are all strong, well rounded and realistic. I really enjoyed getting to meet Rylan Flynn again and discover even more about her past, her unique abilities and discovering how she feels about Ford. I love how she refuses to back down even when she has been threatened to stay away from crime scenes!! She has a great likeable personality and my heart goes out to her when her gift turns into a curse leaving her with little privacy. I also love her friend and camerawoman Mickey and they have a great friendship and bond. I also really like Ford for the majority of this series I was completely invested in all these characters as well as all the other characters who I am also looking forward to meeting again in the next book in this absolutely fantastic series. I'm just pleased I have not got that long to wait and am counting down the days until 22nd August and 'The Last Haunting'!. Dawn's evocative writing skills really brought each of the characters to life and I am already missing them!! An absolutely fantastic group of characters that all work perfectly together to create this absolutely amazing and addictive series and I cannot wait to meet the majority of them again!!

This series is the BEST ghost thriller series I have ever read!!This book really is a truly unique page turner that I picked up this morning and could not put it down until I finished!!!

Rylan is back, picking up right where the last book left off. This one is a doozy and I was reading as fast as I could. I'm completely invested in these characters and get excited with each new release. There's mystery, tension, humor, romance, family, and heart. Not to mention the supernatural. I cannot wait for the final book!

The Burning Soul is the sixth book in the Rylan Flynn Mysery series. To say I look forward to reading more books from this series is really an understatement. I would say this could be read as a standalone, but if you prefer to learn more about characters and have more background, the previous books are a great read, too!

Rylan is a character that I really do love. She is able to communicate with spirits and has proved it,time and time again. Still, there are people who don't believe and think she must need attention. On the other side of it, she has steadfast people who believe and are there through thick and thin.

She uses her skills to find the truth and hopefully help the dead to move on. Alongside this, she has a little romance from time to time with Ford. Their on - off relationship adds a different edge to the series, too. I am hooked on these two! Absolutely can't get enough, and I am always hoping they will sort themselves out!

Dawn Merriman has given me a cliffhanger to make me so impatient for the next book again. I read these books way too fast and am left waiting. I can't stop myself powering through this series. The mystery, the paranormal, and the sprinkle of romance have me every time! A highly recommended read.

This is the 6th book of the series and just like the others I could not put it down,
Houses are burning and people are dying. Rylan can see and talk to ghosts and they help her solve what happened to them and she in turn helps them to the light.
Rylan had trapped an evil spirit ,that was in a puppet, in her brother's room and t is now on the loose and Rylan is wondering if he has something to do with the fires and dead bodies.
There is also a ghost in the court house so the night watchman has asked for help.
Rylan was dating the detective but they have had a falling out and they both miss each other. I love their relationship and am hoping they will get a happy ending at the end of the series,

I love this series and this is another great book.
Rylan has her hands full once again and we finally find out what was causing the noise from Keaton’s room.
Rylan and Ford’s off/on relationship is centre to the book again as she can’t help but get involved in the crimes he’s investigating.

I am not sure anything is creepier than a possessed clown marionette who laughs manically and is trying to kill people. The creepy aspect of the doll kept me engaged, even when there were moments I wasn't connecting with Rylan as much as in past books. While this book was not my favorite in the series, it was still a solid read. I can't wait to see what happens next. I gave The Burning Soul 4/5 stars.

Really loved the mystery in this one. The puppet is a bit creepy, I couldn’t read the beginning of this book at night. Loved the continuation of the story, can’t wait for more of Rylan and Ford!

We are back with Rylan and her ghosty abilities!
After the events in the last book, Rylan has a lot on her plate. Her brother's room has finally been opened, and the thing that was inside has escaped. It's as creepy as I thought it would be when we could just hear it moving around in there, and now that I know what it is... it lives up to its reputation.
On top of that she's not really sure where she stands with her love interest, AND it seems like one of her friends is in a bit of a pickle when a house he owns burns down and someone dies inside.

This one had perfect atmosphere, kept me on my toes and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, and left me wanting more (in the best way) when it was all over. I love Rylan and watching her investigate these hauntings and discovering what's keeping the ghosts here. I can't wait to see what's in store for Rylan next!!

it was great to start where the last book finished rylan and ford are still trying to figure out their feelings for each other

rylan sees the flames from the fire and gets the tingling in her back hinting that a ghost is near by....she soon finds out the identity and knows that in the house that is on fire there is a dead body but before she can get anymore information the girl passes into the light

but its not till the 2nd fire and another dead body that things start to heat up for the owners of the property as it seems their do ups are being targeted....or are they.....

things also dont help that the thing from rylans house has escaped... and we find out what it is.... the stuff of nightmares.... can rylan get it back and stop its reign of terror on her town before to many people see it...

not a bad read and love how rylan and ford are forging a path together

I have enjoyed this series since the very beginning (The Spirit Girls) and enjoy how Rylan uses her skills to help not only the living but the dead. She has a unique skill which many are skeptical of, yet she preservers and helps the restless spirts move on. Along the way she encounters danger, obstacles, spirits, killers, and law enforcement.


In The Burning Soul, Rylan observes the ghost of a young woman watching a house fire and soon the police find the body of young woman in the ashes. Rylan does her best to get to the truth of the young woman's death, even if it means looking at someone she knows. Not to mention that an evil spirit that she had trapped in her home has escaped! UGH! Rylan must turn to Detective Ford Pierce for help. Fans of the series, know him and his relationship with Rylan Flynn well.

I enjoyed the mystery, drama, tension, thrills, secrets, twists, and suspense in this book. Dawn Merriman's wonderful writing, vivid descriptions, and fully fleshed out characters are also a big plus for me in this series. This book has just the right amount of tension, danger, romance, suspense, and thrills. This series has always been entertaining, light, mysterious, and a joy to read.

Just over 200 pages, I easily read The Burning Soul in one day. I was glued to the pages, wanting more, and doing my best to catch the killer along with Rylan. I have always enjoyed the scenes between Rylan and Ford and reading about their ups and downs. Their romance has also been a nice touch in this book and in the series.

There is one more book to come in this riveting series. The end of this book has me salivating and excited. There has been one mystery that has ebbed and flowed in and out of the previous books - it's a big one and I have a feeling, that mystery will finally be solved. I can't wait!! Fingers crossed the Dawn Merriman writes fast!!!!!

This is a series that you need to read in order. Lots of backstory that is necessary to know about.
This is my honest review and all opinions expressed are my own.

This book was over way too soon! I can't believe it was the end when I got to the end! I need to get the next one! I mean, finally, we find out what was in that room, and if you aren't a fan of what it is, you are not going to enjoy this! We have a few ghosts crossing over and some distant relatives.

Keaton and Rylan's relationship has taken a change, and I am hoping that it changes for the better.
The book was so full on, and I need to catch my breath because again, I can't believe it is over already!! Gutted doesn't cover it.

Ford and Rylan are now getting back on track, so there is hope. I love this!!

I have no idea which part of the book to think about first or dissect. I loved every bit of it, I really want the next one!!! I'm not going to spoil it, but just know I LOVED this book. This series is everything I want and more, and I WANT more!!

Every new Rylan Flynn book brings immediate joy to my soul. However, as I read the loose ends being tied up from the series, I feel a little sad knowing that Rylan's story is coming to an end. The most upsetting sentence for me was reading that the next book will be the last. I could never get enough of Rylan's story.

Dear Dawn Merriman, you really need to stop these cliff hanger endings, I'm too impatient to wait for the next installment, So far I have loved the Rylan Flynn Mysteries they are easy reading and i like the supernatural and the will they won't they relationship between her and Ford and soon we will finally find out what happened to her Mum, the wait is already getting to me. If you haven't read this series please do.

I really enjoy reading this series, and The burning soul is just as good as the previous ones. It picks up right where the previous book ended, and is a quick and easy read, with non-stop action, and plenty of things that go bump in the night. One of the ongoing mysteries has been what has been locked away in the Keaton's bedroom and that mystery is finally revealed. As usual the author ends the story on a cliffhanger, so I cannot wait until the next book comes out!
