Rachel Hauck is a master storyteller and many a chores went undone until I finished this book. It was not only a love story between a man and a woman but also about love of family and community. This book wove together so nicely with her last book Meet Me At the Starlight yet can be a fabulous read alone novel. I will be recommending this book to those who would love a fabulous, clean, summer read.

It was lovely to take a trip back to Sea Blue Beach again with this new novel The Sands of Sea Blue Beach from best selling author Rachel Hauck. Meet Me at the Starlight is your first chance to visit the town and explore the beach and people and places. Because several characters are revisited and events from book one are mentioned, I'd highly recommend reading Meet Me At the Starlight before diving into this book. Timewise, I'd say this one happens present day (2020's) while Meet Me at the Starlight was the late 80s. People who were teenagers now have grandchildren.

This book explores the connection that Emery and Caleb have to each other AND to the beach city. Emery is there for the first time since she was 17 when she discovered her mom was dying of cancer--Caleb has returned to the place he grew up in after getting his career off to a great start working in Seattle. Both of them stumble into each other and discover that the spark they had back when they were teenagers is still simmering...

The side plot is how they are going to bring East Side and WEst side of the beach together to remember that they are ONE city. To cease the rivalries between the businesses and residents and come together to make Sea Blue Beach great--the way it was back with the Prince founded it.

The power of family and forgiveness is front and center in this story.

There are very subtle Christian messages woven throughout.

"Love doesn't require perfection."
"Nor fairness."

I really enjoyed getting lost in this book and going back to Sea Blue Beach with Rachel Hauck. The second chance romance was everything, and I loved seeing Prince John again. It's a gentle, sweet story that kept me turning pages. I have to say, one of my very favorite things was Emery's dad and his response to 16 year old Caleb showing up to get to know his teenage daughter. When he called Caleb's dad, I just fell in love with him right then and there. So precious!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an early copy of the book so I could write an honest review.

This one wasn't for me. I wasn't particularly a fan of the writing, and I didn't feel like it added anything new to this space. However, for romance fans, I'm sure this will be a fun summer read.

I hadn't read this author in a while so when I saw this come up on Netgalley, I thought I'd dive in. While this novel could be standalone, I think it's better to read this series in order as it spoils the plot of the previous book (not that this put me off it).

I'm hoping that there are more books in the series as over the course of the story, you become invested in the characters. This is why my plan is to go back and read the preceding novel as a result. Will order this for my library.

I receive complimentary books for various sources, including Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

The Sands of Sea Blue Beach is another compelling story by Rachel Hauck.

Emery Quinn and Caleb Ransom first fell in love as a teenagers when she and her family visited Sea Blue Beach. The trip ended up being the last time for Emery, as her mother passed away shortly after. She vowed to never return, as there were too many painful memories. Until she was offered the job as editor in chief for the small town newspaper.

Architect Caleb returned to Sea Blue Beach to make a difference with his family and hometown. He never expected to run into Emery, the girl who captured his heart 16 years ago.

This story was about love and second chances. About East vs West, a long time warring rivalry. The love and forgiveness of family. The story was beautifully written with full characters and enchanting dialogue. The banter between Emery and Caleb was perfectly orchestrated. A must read on your TBR list. A good clean story, very engaging. One I could not put down.

I received a complimentary ebook copy from the publisher, through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

THE SANDS OF SEA BLUE BEACH is the sequel to the well loved Meet Me At The Starlight by RACHEL HAUCK, but it can easily stand alone. It is more than Emery and Caleb’s love story, it is the story of melding families together with love. Immanuel, God with us, is the One who supplies the love and direction for the characters, and their second chances. He is also the One bringing the warring East and West sides of the town together…….
It is a lovely read, with strong character analysis, taking place in beautiful seaside surroundings.
I highly recommend this most enjoyable read.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers.

The Sands of Sea Blue Beach, while not part of a series, is connected to the author's previous book Meet Me at the Starlight, both taking place in this same town. While this could certainly be enjoyed as a standalone, you might have a bit more understanding of the history of the town (and the Starlight, of course) if you have read that previous book. (It's also a great read, and one I'd highly recommend anyway.)

Having enjoyed the previous book, I loved the chance to go back to the charming town of Sea Blue Beach for this sweet second chance romance. Emery and Caleb first fell in love when she visited the small town as a teenager with her family... the last family trip before her mother passed away. She vowed never to go back to the place that help so many hurts, until she's offered a job as editor in chief at the local newspaper. Caleb has also returned to his hometown with plans to help revive it. The last thing either expected was to run into their past love... or to rekindle that flame. I love a good second chance romance, and really thought this one was done very well. I loved that we got to see these characters as teenagers falling in love for the first time, and then falling in love again after so much time and heartache. Their story was emotional and at times heartbreaking, but absolutely beautiful. If you enjoy Christian small-town romance that will pull at your heartstrings, this is certainly one you'll want to check out.

From the moment I seen this book I knew I had to have it! It's amazing!!
Once again Hauck knows how to weave a good story and draw me in with it.
I loved every minute of it and was sad when it ended. I always look forward to this author's stories because they are heartfelt and I love her characters.
I love Emery so much! She's just a such a go getter. I felt like she was the sister I never had. I kind of felt sorry for her in a way tho and I can also releate to her. It's no fun missing someone you love. Believe me.
I just really enjoyed this story and the setting. It was described so well that I felt like I was there.
Emery's family became mine. I really loved them.
I especially loved going down memory lane with Emery. Some of them I had to smile at.
5 stars for a job well done! I highly recommend it
