Did I listen to this book in one day? YES!
I will admit, the book had me at Female Firefighter. But then we add the layer of a Fire Chemist to the plot. it was absolutely adorable and gave me feel good vibes all the way through the book. The innocent flirting and plotting that led to the more spicy scenes was GREAT. And the spice was spicing! To say the least.
I will admit my favorite part of the book, really did have to do with the Mental Health aspect, and the accountability that Nic takes not only with her own life but with how she relates to other in their lives. I think it is important to see discussions about therapy and going to it, in our every day lives.

This was a good Sapphic romance novel. I thought the characters and conflict all made sense and I stayed engaged enough to finish the book in a single day

This was pretty darn fun. I enjoyed the unique plot and situation for our main characters to find themselves. The third act breakup was not my cup of tea but I can see how it helped to get to our HEA. This was my first M.K. England title and I am interested for more! Our narrators were fantastic!

Thank you HTP Books and HTP Hive for my free ARC.
All Fired Up is a sweet, funny and cute sapphic romance between a fire chemist Nicole and a firefighter, Kira. The two of them team up to convince their best friend, Skylar, from moving away.
Although I did find some parts enjoyable, overall I didn’t feel like their relationship had much chemistry? It felt a bit short and rushed. I would have loved to see more of the side characters and Skylar considering she’s the whole reason for them being connected in the first place.
I did really like the vast cast of characters and friends but again, wish we saw more of the friendship and not *only* the scheming.
I also did the ALC via netgalley and I loved the dual narration! Both narrators did a fantastic job and it was a fun time and a quick read/listen.
Tropes/Themes:
- found family
- Spice
- bisexual/lesbian rep
- Dual POV and narration

Loved this one. It's one of the most unique romance plots I've read.
The narration was also great
Recommended if you like:

All Fired Up is the queer rom-com we’ve been waiting for—full of chaotic best friend energy, slow-burn sapphic romance, and just the right amount of heartfelt heat. Nicole Wells is a fire scientist (yes, that’s a real and very cool thing) with a serious case of unresolved feelings for her impulsive best friend, Skylar. But when she returns to Seattle only to find Skylar ditching her life for Fiji, Nic teams up with Kira McKinney—Skylar’s new bestie and a badass bi firefighter—to pull off a series of ridiculous, well-meaning interventions. Shenanigans? Absolutely. Emotional growth? Even better.
Packed with tropes like found family, reluctant allies to lovers, pining, and queer joy, this book is laugh-out-loud funny, tender in all the right places, and a fresh take on letting go of old crushes to make room for real love. Nic and Kira’s chemistry sizzles with every interaction, and watching them navigate their past wounds and current chaos is as satisfying as it is swoony. Fans of Casey McQuiston and Ashley Herring Blake—this one’s for you. Grab your headphones for the stellar narration or your favorite blanket and curl up with this heartwarming, fire-starting gem.

Another nice romance read. I really liked how this started out. I loved how the characters got to know each other and how their relationship developed naturally. The 'let's stop our friend from ruining their life' is a fun way to bring characters together. I also liked Nic working through her feelings and sorting things out with Skylar. I was like wow maybe we'll make it through the book with good communication and I'm excited to see where things go and then BAM third act break up. I can't express how much I hate miscommunication. Anyways, 3.5 stars for the strong beginning and good spicy scenes. I did enjoy Angel Pean and Kristen DiMercurio's narration. Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

All Fired Up was a fun listen with strong audio performances, but the story didn’t fully land for me. While I enjoyed the steamy moments and low-angst vibes, the romance between Nic and Keira lacked emotional depth. Nic’s character felt underdeveloped and her unresolved past feelings disrupted the story’s momentum. The friend group had potential, but too many side characters and loose plot threads (like Willow’s mystery) left me wanting more. A light sapphic romance, but ultimately not a standout.

Audio Narration: 4.5/5
I loved the narrator choices for this one and think they did a spectacular job. The inflection, tone, speed, & pausing were all 5/5. However, there were a handful of times where you could tell a section had been re-recorded and edited in — it almost sounded like it was recorded in a different studio with slightly different acoustics. Not a huge issue but definitely noticeable. Ah - once last thing… The voice for Skylar was grating — I feel like it was quite intentional and did match the character well, but I will just say I am SO glad we only had minimal dialogue from this side character.
A fire chemist and a fire-fighter team up to convince their best friend not to move to Fiji, in this messy, adorable, opposites-attract steamy sapphic romance.
What’s to love…
- a firefighter and a fire chemist 💞
- complicated friend dynamics
- found family
- well done spice and plenty of tension
- dual POV (and dual narrated)
- bisexual/lesbian
- only one bed
What’s not to love…
- Overall this was a really good time. The first half was VERY good but it fell off a little towards the end. I wanted messy, and I definitely got that but the second half felt too neat and tidy - everything came together too quickly.
🌶️- Ch 11, 17, 18 Steamy, plenty of tension, and very well placed.

This started off cute, two friends of a friend working together toward a common goal- Then it turns 🔥 And goals change… lol!!
But the way I just started screaming into my pillow, like pls just be honest w/ yourselves lmfao. Which is another reason why I hate when people “casually” date, like what even is that 😭😭😭 I hate it. But the way this showed more than just romance- Obstacles at work, navigating social circles, & just life in general.
Overall, this was a fun lil sapphic romance read 🤍
I loved the narrators Angel Pean & Kristen DiMercurio did a wonderful job!!

Can we get a hell ya for these characters?! I’m in love with both main and all side characters, so fun. It felt like a Friends season for queers.
I really appreciated all the open communication, it was not always perfect, but nothing in this life is.
Thank you Net Galley and Harlequin Romance for the ARC!

I received “All Fired Up” as an advanced listening copy through NetGalley. I was so excited to see it splash across everyone’s Instagram posts when it was released and snagged the available ALC. This LGBTQ+ romance story deals with a topic often not addressed in books but is common in real life.
Kira is a firefighter, and Nic is a fire scientist (controlled pyromania). Having a Pyro meet up with a firefighter is the ultimate “oil and water” scenario. Still, in addition to this unusual setup, we have a friend in common, Skylar. Skylar is a social media influencer getting ready to take on the biggest challenge of her life. Nic had just returned home after “running away” to avoid Skylar, and now Skylar is leaving. Nic takes the news very hard because she was so welcomed into Skylar’s family. Skylar's mother was her mother in the absence of her own mother.
Nic's grandiose idea of dating Skylar to solidify her place in her family is a poignant struggle. Her unrequited love for Skylar, who sees her only as a sister, is a deeply emotional journey. This emotional depth in the characters' struggles is what makes 'All Fired Up' a relatable and engaging read.
Nic and Kira hit it off in the middle of Nic's turmoil. Still, Kira has to wait in the wings for Nic to open up emotionally about her availability for a relationship - Because they have already opened up physically. The pseudo-relationship is a bit like forbidden fruit, secretive. They didn’t want anyone in their friend circle to know they were hooking up. So we have a forced proximity, friends with benefits, secret lover thing going on along with the emotionally confused side of things. It makes for a white knuckle sensation, wondering if Nic will wake up and realize who she has in front of her face or if she will keep pining for Skylar for the rest of her life.
This was a heart-wrenching story because it feels very relatable. I have found myself in these situations as a younger person - Being with someone while pining for someone else, only someone else wanting nothing to do with me. Or forcing relationships to happen simply because I wanted our two families to stay together forever. I wanted to solidify the situation because I loved the partner‘s parent or sibling. But love doesn’t work out that way; love finds you when you least expect it and sometimes gives you circumstances and family that you otherwise wouldn’t choose for yourself. And that’s just the way life is.
This was a relisten for me of the beautiful Kristen deMercurio and a new one from Angel Pean. I’ve always been a fan of DiMercurio‘s voice; she always knocks them out of the park. You can hear the story's emotion and rawness and her voice; you can feel how she’s struggling with wanting to fall in love but not wanting to lose Skylar or Skylar‘s family. Angel Pean is a lovely, sultry voice I hope to find in many of my other sapphic listens. Her voice is swoon-worthy, and she was quickly added to my top narrator list. The pairing of these two narrators was perfection.

This was a cute read—not amazing, but definitely not bad either. It had its moments, and overall, I enjoyed it.
Both main characters had their flaws, but that actually made them kind of relatable. They felt like real people trying to figure things out, even if they made questionable choices along the way.
The chemistry between them was great—you could really feel the tension and connection. But the constant circling around the same issues got frustrating. It felt like they kept going back and forth without actually making progress.
And their communication? Terrible. So many of their problems could’ve been avoided with one honest conversation. That held the story back a bit for me.
Still, it was a decent read with some sweet moments—I just wish they’d gotten out of their own way a little sooner.

I am so grateful to have been approved for an ALC of this book because I had a great time listening to it! I think this book is a perfect summer read, there are three fairly spicy scenes but the voices actors don’t ham it up and make overly obnoxious noise or anything so in my opinion it wasn’t awkward to listen to. To put it simply this is a sapphic romance with a touch of deeper topics but it would make a perfect beach/vacation read or listen!

Just what the firefighter ordered. All Fired Up is sweet, silly and a little dramatic — but it’s a great addition to the sapphic romance genre.
Firefighter Kira and fire scientist Nic bond over their shared worry for a friend — and then grow closer as they realize their shared worry may be a bit misplaced. The premise was a little far-fetched, but the secondary characters were worth their page time. I’m hoping for a follow up on more than one of them — especially forest witch Willow.
Overall, worth your reading or listening time — and really well narrated.

I rated this book 4.5! I’m not usually into contemporary romance books but this was too cute! A firefighter and a fire scientist?!? I will say it was a “typical” lesbian pipeline haha but honestly it just makes it more realistic to me! I found it super entertaining and captured my attention!

All Fried Up by M.K. England
This was a riot to read; it was silly and full of fun and friends. The characters were messy and a little silly. Kira and Nicole, both Skyler's best friends, declare shenanigans to get Skyler to rethink her decision to relocate to Costa Rica. But during this process, they find that they may be more into each other than their attempts to get Skyler to stay!
I love that this book has anxiety representation and friends who support and push them to go to therapy to work through everything! Also, what fun jobs, one of them being a female firefighter and the other MC being a scientist that sets fires for a living! This book was fun and a little silly, and I felt like a friend, a group I wanted to be a part of!
This book was Narrated by Angel Pean & Kristen DiMercurio! I loved the dual POV of this book and how it also was carried through the narration. These narrators rocked this book and fit the characterization perfectly. This audio was fast-paced, easy to listen to, and overall very fun to read!
PS: That dressing room scene...
Thank you to MK England, Harlequin Audio, and Netgalley for the ALC copy for review.

This book was neither good or bad. I was just chillin' the whole time with no impactful emotion in sight. I liked how opposite the main characters were in the beginning, but the content is really just on repeat.
Still thank you to the publisher and author for my chance to read!

This was such a phenomenal romance book. It had well-rounded characters, and it was not just about the romance. First of all, it was so sexy and beautifully sapphic. I enjoyed every minute I listened to, especially with Nic and Kira, our main characters. One of the main things I adored was the found family trope. It is truly one of the best tropes out there, and it was even better by being a queer found family group. Like I mentioned, this book is not just about the romance, it is about adult friendships and navigating who you are as your own person. It made me laugh, cry and smile with joy. I truly cannot recommend it enough!

Spice Level: 2/5 Explicit - Open Door
Nic moved away from Seattle for a few years for school to get away from the love of her life and best friend, Skylar. After studying fire dynamics, she returns to Seattle, and Skylar is leaving for Fiji. Kira is new to the group of friends, including Nic and Skylar. They think Skylar is making a huge mistake moving, and they team up to try and stop their friend from making a huge mistake. In their efforts to thwart their friend's endeavor, does Nic start a fire that Kira can’t contain?
I “read” this book as an audiobook. It is a dual PoV book and there were two narrators doing the reading. I’ve listened to plenty where a single narrator reads both PoVs and it can get a little one-note. Both narrators keep you engaged through the whole story.
I really enjoyed listening to this book. It was actually kind of refreshing to have the MC pine after her best friend but unexpectedly fall for another person. You can feel the chemistry between the MCs, not at first, but once they start scheming against Skylar, it’s there, and sparks fly. Like the saying goes, where there’s smoke, there’s fire and this book is All Fired Up.
