HOT HOT HOT!!!

An age gap but SHE’S the sexy, single mom…say LESS!

This is a perfect read (and listen) for the summer! It’s fast paced but the characters and story are beautifully fleshed out. The romance was lovely and I’m so happy to see Ms. V get the man who will treat her right 😉. I wanted to insert myself into the story and go party and dance with Trinidad and Orlando. And let’s give it up for the friends who help these two work out their feelings.

Esme Ramos and Jesus E. Martinez sizzle in their narration and I cannot recommend the audiobook enough. Their voices are smooth and easy to listen to. I definitely need want to find more audiobooks narrated by both of them.

Thank you Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for an early copy!

Although a little far fetched, this slight riff on How Stella Got Her Groove Back is enjoyable. At times the dialogue is less than believable but all in it is fine.

This reminds me of how Stella got her groove back. A summer romance 🥰
Loved the narration and the entire story line.

Ms. V’s Hot Girl Summer is a bit insta-love/insta-lust-y, and the pacing is a little wonky, especially in the beginning where the reader is thrust into a dynamic that both already exists and is rapidly expanding. It took me a little bit to get my footing here because of it, but I eventually got sucked in because I found both Trinidad and Orlando to be such interesting, engaging characters, that even when they messed up/hurt the other person I still rooted for them to figure things out and actually had faith that it would happen in a way that made sense in their dynamic.

I will say I didn’t like the storyline of Trinidad’s teenaged sons and adult best friend conspiring to have her fly out to a place under false pretenses without proper lodging or transportation. I have anxiety so that made me feel horrified and I almost felt like it was hateful LOL. But kids are impulsive and short-sighted, so I ultimately felt like this was a realistic way of behaving from boys that age.

Speaking of age, this is an age-gap romance, but I promise you it’s a much bigger deal to Trinidad, who acts like she’s seen as a church mother named Mabel for the crime of being 35 years of age, which is so incredibly young—and such a *regular* age gap in age gap romances—I was confused that she kept harping on it. Orlando was more mature than most 25-year old men (I’m assuming; I know approximately zero 25-year-old men) because he had some family trauma/oldest of immigrants child syndrome and had to grow up fast, but sometimes his age shone through in realistic ways. In fact, Trinidad behaved pretty immaturely when it came to talking things out and her deciding things unilaterally for their relationship at times.

The storyline with Milton was such a waste; he didn’t want to be there and no one in the story wanted him around deep down either. I wish that storyline had been cut out entirely to be honest. The storyline of Orlando and his former friend (phrasing this way to avoid a spoiler) also suffers this same feat because it’s upsetting that yet another person in Orlando’s life made a unilateral decision that impacted him greatly. However, it has a much sweeter, more fulfilling end result, so I ultimately loved it, and how supportive Trinidad was in this capacity. The end chapters were my favorite!

Overall, I found this to be quick, flirty, hot summer read, and I loved the Caribbean representation! The narrators were dope too!

Thank you to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for providing me with an ALC!

This is my second read from this author & I thought it was a cute & nice fluffy read.Trinidad is a 35 year old woman of twin boy teens (16) who trick her into a Caribbean Carnival vacay so she can run into their mentor Orlando. These two had chemistry practicality the first day their eyes landed on one another but Trinidad aka Ms.V is very hesitant bc he’s a decade younger then her. The narrators were great to listen to they really brought the story to life & I thought overall the story was cool. I liked that Orlando storyline was about being the eldest in his family taking care of his mom & how he was ready to live his life now that his siblings were older. I wish we got more from Ms. V because I felt like her backstory would have been really interesting. Although this is my second read from this author & I’m definitely will check out more. This is my honest review in exchange of this complimentary copy.

. First of all—can we talk about how gorgeous the cover of this book is? Bright, bold, and vibrant, it perfectly matches the mood of the story. And the rich, detailed descriptions of Caribbean island life had me mentally packing a bag—A.H. Cunningham does a fantastic job of setting the scene and capturing the energy of Carnival.

This book was pretty good overall—it held my attention and definitely brought the heat. If you’re into spice, Ms. V’s Hot Girl Summer delivers scene after scene of steamy moments. That said, some parts of the storyline felt a bit far-fetched. The idea of a mother being tricked into a full-blown vacation without any details stretched believability for me.

The narration was solid. Both Jesus E. Martinez and Esme Ramos gave good voice distinction between characters. I especially appreciated the authentic-sounding Spanish from both. However, I did find some of Martinez’s accents to feel a little forced or out of place at times.

This wasn’t my first read from A.H. Cunningham, and while it had its moments, it didn’t quite live up to the expectations I had going in. Still, it was a fun, fast-paced listen with plenty of heat.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Ms. v’s Hot Summer is a Cute Age Gap where Trinidad is older than Orlando who just happens to be her son’s mentor. They both have feelings for each other but are hesitant because of the age difference.

I loved Orlando’s relationship with her twins because he saw them as they were. The twins pushed their mom to enjoy herself and it just so happens to be where Orlando is. Orlando was patient with Trinidad with her hesitation with starting a relationship. Trinidad taught Orlando to open up, speaking up about needing help and allowing people to support him.

Trinidad drove me nuts because she kept talking about their age. Overall a good read!

Thank you Harlequin Audio, Harlequin Romance, NetGalley, and A.H. Cunningham for the ALC

A. H. Cunningham's Ms. V's Hot Girl Summer gives a fresh and detailed look at a time of freedom and finding yourself, especially through the eyes of its interesting main character, Ms. V. (Trinidad) More than just having simple fun, Ms. V is shown as a caring single mom to twin boys. Her wish to make sure they grow up well with a good male influence quietly shows her strong desire for a partner who could also be her loved one.

Ms. V's story displays her inner fight about being in a relationship with someone much older or younger. The author gently, shows Ms. V's first worries and how society makes her feel with honesty. This fear isn't just a problem to solve but a real worry she deals with as she meets new people. It makes her character easier to connect with and makes her search for happiness feel real and honest.

Orlando's story is about the often-hard process of learning to say what he truly feels. Cunningham shows well how Orlando slowly learns that it's important to be open and how he starts to tell others what he needs, even when it means saying he needs help. This idea of being honest about feelings has a strong impact and adds an importantance to the books message.

I will admit based off the title, I was under the impression this was going to be a light and funny summer story but Cunningham tells a story that goes deeper into the complicated parts of life, love, and a single mother finding herself. The writer nicely balances the fun of summer with the seriousness of growing as a person and the bravery it takes to deal with relationships, both romantic and with family. It's a thoughtful look at a woman's journey to find balance, get over her fears, and be open to love and support in any way it comes.

The narrators of the audiobook were amazing. It felt as though I was eavesdropping during a conversation.

This was a cute Spicy Age Gap story between Orlando and Trinidad. Orlando is about 20yrs younger than Trinidad and also her twin boys mentor. Which definitely made her hesitant at first but she couldn’t ignore the sparks. I loved the relationship between Orlando and Twins. Also how he was able to meet Trinidad where she was in her hesitance and learning to navigate being a single mom. It was such a enjoyable read!

First I want to thank Harlequin Audio, NetGalley, and A.H. Cunningham for the ALC of Ms. V's Hot Girl Summer.

Let me say, I love an over 30 FMC. Not only is she over 30, but she's AfroLatine--and her Dominican roots spoke to mine. The Caribbean vibes throughout the book were just ::chef's kiss::

This was a cute, spicy age-gap romance. The MMC Orlando and his love for Trinidad was def giving Papi from Pose vibes. He just unapologetically cares for her whole being. I loved his willingness to meet her where she was, and when she needed him to. At times the age gap was emphasized a lot from our FMC as if she had 20+ years on our MMC ( but it was only 10 years), but I think it was because of her hyper independence as the primary caregiver of her 2 boys. I think when she sees that she isn't the only one carrying the weight of life's responsibilities, she starts to see things in a new light.

Both of the audiobook narrators made the dual POV transitions seamless. I really felt the emotions they were going through and enjoyed how they portrayed the characters. ,

I love a good HEA and meddling side characters. This was such a fun, quick read.

This was a cute and spicy age-gap romance.

Trinidad finds herself on an unexpected vacation her twin sons tricked her into. On the vacation, she connects with Orlando, her son’s mentor, who is a decade younger than her.

I really loved the relationship between the twins and Orlando. The boys really trusted and looked up to him.

The relationship between Trinidad and Orlando worked well too since Orlando is very mature for his age.

Thank you Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for the ALC! The narrators were great if you decide to go with the audiobook.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Audio, and A.H. Cunningham for allowing me to have an ALC of Ms. V's Hot Girl Summer! This age gap romance was steamy and HOT perfect for the summer. The drama and build up towards the FMC and MMC together was AMAZING and very realistic with her feelings of reservation. Oh and Ms. V's twin boys were so cute! They truly loved their mother and knew that she should be with Orlando .

SN: That shower scene with Ms. V was something else and I ATE IT UP!!! lol

Great story

Audio review

The narrators did a great job with the scenes and personalities of the characters. The descriptions of the carnival and the excitement surrounding it made me want to be there.

This a fun and spicy age gap story with characters who have a lot going on in their lives. It also involves a meddling family(in a good way)

Trinidad Velasquez (Ms V) is a 35 year old divorced mother of twin boys. She works hard and loves her sons fiercely. She has them enrolled in a mentorship program where the connect with Orlando Wiggins.
Orlando is 25 going on older. He had a lot happening in his personal life that required him to take on a lot of responsibilities.
They both needed a break!

I really liked the story with the exception of Milton. It took too long for her to realize he was not the answer. With the help of her meddling kids, she was able to finally make a decision that was very obvious to everyone except her.

I really enjoy the narrators for this book, they really brought the books to Lyde for me and they honestly the reason that kept me reading the book. I like to immersive read so I was listening and reading at the same time, and I love how the female narrator brought the F seat of ice I Completely understood the characters emotions and I also understood what the author was trying to convey as well. My only critique for the female narrator, is that I didn’t care too much for her male voice, but all in all she did an amazing job. The male narrator did a great job as well. He really got into the role and conveyed the emotions of the character greatly. I will definitely listen to other books that both narrators read in the future. I will definitely recommend these narrators for future books.

I felt this book, it felt like life. I feel like the 5 stars tells it all, but the main reasons for it were the narrators were superb, the spice was on point, the mom was just so realistic and Daddy Orlando just had my whole heart. Sometimes you just don’t know your worth until the right person comes around to make you believe what’s real.

I enjoyed the audio and the narrators a lot. If it wasn’t for it being an audiobook I would DNFed for sure. I was so lost during the whole thing. Clearly wasn’t a book for me and that’s ok 😉

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing. Trinidad Velasquez or Ms. V was busy raising her twin boys. She stopped playing games and focused on being a mother and a caregiver. Trinidad will be the first to admit that she had her fun before and maybe even a little after the boys were born, but those days are over. She works very hard to provide a stable life for Bryan and Brandon. That includes making sure the boys had a good role model.

Orlando Wiggins was a mature 25 year old that had a crush on Ms. V. Orlando also had a lot of responsibilities at home. He helped take care of his two younger brothers and a depressed mother. Orlando was finally ready for a break. He and his friends were going to a Carnival Celebration. Orlando had a few more things on his agenda so he went down early and rented a house. Thank god he did. Trinidad's kids decided she needed a break and not with her current boyfriend. I use the word boyfriend loosely. Trinidad was looking for more and her boyfriend seemed to be dangling that carrot on front of her. The boys sent Trinidad to the same town that Orlando would be vacationing with no place to stay. Stranded with no quick way to get back home, Orlando came to rescue. Feelings that had been hiding behind jokes and shy looks were out in the open in this town. Will Trinidad finally give Orlando the chance he wants?

Both Trinidad and Orlando have some things to work out in their lives. Can they make it work? Orlando went early for a specific purpose. Will this purpose take time away from the relationship he wants to build with Trinidad? Is Orlando ready to be the man that Trinidad needs? This book was great. The audio was on point. This book will keep reader interested throughout and begging for more.

I absolutely loved this story. Finding love the way they did was like a huge fantasy for me. Imagine going away to enjoy yourself and you meet someone. I will admit as much as I loved this I wasn’t a huge fan of the voice of the narrators. It did throw me off a little. I pushed through because I loved the story. But don’t take my word for it. Give it a listen/read you will absolutely love it!!!!

Ms. V's Hot Girl Summer by A.H. Cunningham is a super fun and steamy book about Trinidad Velasquez, a hardworking single mom finally taking some time for herself. When she heads to the Caribbean for Carnival, she’s ready to let loose, and ends up catching serious feelings for her kids’ hot, younger mentor, Orlando. The vibes are flirty, the setting is vibrant, and the chemistry? Off the charts. It’s all about rediscovering joy, embracing love, and living life unapologetically. If you’re into feel-good romances this book is definitely for you!

This was an ok read. The fmc constantly referring to the mmc as "man-child" was annoying. You would think she was old enough to be his mother the way she kept saying it. She was only 10 years older than him, not 20, 30 or 40 years older. I enjoyed her sons and how they wanted more for their mom. It took them instigating an impromptu vacation for her to see who she thought would bring stability to her life was completely wrong for her.

The narrators didn't do it for me. They weren't bad but there was something that just didn't click.

Overall, I think others will enjoy the story, writing and maybe even the audio. It just wasn't a hit for me.

I received an ALC from NetGalley and am leaving a voluntary review.
