Ava lives with her husband, Dan, and 11-year-old daughter, Lexi, in a beautiful home and financially secure. She’s a GP but gave up working when Lexi was born. Ava tends to stifle Lexi and treat her to lots of lavish gifts, but Lexi wishes her mum was more ‘normal’. Dan often works late, or away, so is hardly ever at home.

Emily lives in a cramped, one-bedroom flat with her daughter, Sophie. Emily and Ava used to be good friends, having met whilst both pregnant, but then Ava stopped speaking to Emily.

Lexi is doing something that she doesn’t want her mum to find out about, so when the house next door is burgled, and the elderly man taken to hospital, she panics and is desperate to get away from home. Emily sees this great opportunity to get back her relationship with Ava and offers a house swap. Ava is very reluctant but Lexi begs her to go ahead, so Ava gives in.

Ava is then worried about Emily being in her house. Will she go nosing around, and, more importantly, will she find what’s in the locked basement?

I love this author’s thrillers, they are well-written with gripping storylines, and I would highly recommend What’s Mine is Yours.

Review of ‘What’s Mine Is Yours’ by Leah Mercer due for release on 8 May by Bookouture.

This book had me gripped from the very first page, I could not put it down!

Told from the points of view of Ava, her daughter Lexi, her one time friend Emily, and her daughter Sophie. A very strong female character arc.

It’s dark, it’s got twists and just as you think you’ve worked out what’s going on, it throws a curveball at you that you didn’t see coming.

Highly recommended.

This story line was refreshing compared to a lot that I’ve come across lately. The only twist I probably could’ve done without was the last little twist. Overall, it was ok.

Alex and Emily were once friends - they bonded through pregnancy but then grew apart when their babies were infants. Now, years later, their children attend the same school and one night, a neighbour of Alex is injured during a burglary. She feels unsafe at home and Emily, keen to resurrect their friendship, offers a house swap. But Alex is hiding something from her past, and so is Emily.
This is a dark twisty thriller which is well plotted. I really enjoyed it and didn’t expect the final twist. Definitely recommend. Thanks to the publisher & author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

First, as always, thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

In this story, we do follow Emily and Ava. They have been friends once, until Ava stopped speaking to Emily. And Emily... well, Emily did not accept it, worming her way into Ava's life when her daughter has troubles sleeping in their home. She does suggest a house swap. Ava does agree, but very soon, wished she had not... because both Emily and Ava have secrets they do need to stay hidden...

Very twisty, told in the POV of Ava, Emily and also Lexi - Ava's daughter - pulls you in from the very first page, not letting go until the very end. Another freath book by Leah Mercer and very much recommended!

Yikes!! What's Mine Is Yours by Leah Mercer is a dark and disturbing novel about entitlement and jealousy. Leah knows how to dig deep into the human psyche and run with it.

Ava and Emily meet when they are both expecting and become friends. Soon after they give birth, a tragedy occurs and Ava pulls away. Emily is desperate to hang onto their friendship and to have what she believes she deserves and is owed. She pulls out all the stops in trying to achieve this and resorts to some very disturbing behavior.

This story encompasses friendship, grief, and entitlement between Ava and Emily. It is told through the perspectives of Ava and Emily and also Ava's daughter Lexi. It is filled with secrets and lies and several gasp out loud revelations. This is a must read for deep psychological suspense lovers. I highly recommend it and all of Leah Mercer's other books.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy

I did not suspect the truth about what happened next door at all. This is a how far will a mom go to protect her daughter, but in two very different circumstances style of book and I was equally disgusted by and felt sorry for/was rooting for both moms.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from Netgalley. Although none of the characters were particularly likeable (except Sophie), I loved this book. The story was engaging and unpredictable, and Mercer skillfully weaved the different threads together, while also tackling emotive topics. Real sympathy was created for the characters so while they were frustrating, I was invested in the outcome. As with many books of this genre, the conclusion was rushed, but ultimately, this was a very enjoyable read, and I look forward to reading more of Mercer's books.

Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
What’s Mine Is Yours is the newest overflowing tension thriller from author Leah Mercer.
I’ve read a few of Leah’s books and I have really liked them and this one is another to add to that list.
Ava and Emily used to be best friends but now have drifted apart.
When a burglary goes wrong at the house next door to Ava and her daughter, Lexi, Emily suggests a temporary house swap.
As Lexi is quite frantic and scared, Ava says yes.
But Emily has an agenda, she will stop at nothing to get her friendship back with Ava, no matter the consequences.
Then secrets begin to surface and danger soon follows…..
No one is safe….
I was gripped right from the start and I didn’t let go.
A clever, exciting read that absorbed my attention throughout.
My thought process was activated and stimulated.
A thrilling and exhilarating read.

Ava has isolated herself since an event in her past.
She keeps her daughter close and has emotionally distanced herself from her husband, as she cannot come to terms with what happened.
Emily used to be a friend of Ava's, and is keen to come back into Ava's life.
But Emily has secrets of her own.

This is a very good read. Really keeps you on the edge of your seat, needing to know what those secrets are.
Your head will spin when they are revealed!
The only characters I really liked were the children. Both needing attention and love.
Very sad in a way, because we don't realise that children will remember the time the parents spend with them, but not the gifts they are given.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

Ava and Emily both live in affluent Richmond, London though Emily is a single mother who can only afford a one bed flat while Ava lives in a big house. They used to be friends, bonding over their pregnancies and now 11 year old children Lexi and Sophie but Emily has always been jealous of Ava's good fortune. Then something traumatic happened to Ava and they stopped socialising though Emily can't really accept that. When the Bandharis, direct neighbours of Ava, get burgled, Emily uses the opportunity to suggest a house swap after Lexi refuses to sleep at home until her Dad Dan is back from a business trip.

There are alternating chapters for Ava, Emily and Lexi, with Ava and Emily's in third person past tense and Lexi's in first person present tense. The story starts slowly but gets tense very fast - there are secrets threatening the idyllic facade of these women's lives, and the more we delve in the more it crumbles. What happened 11 years ago and why is there a box locked away in Ava's basement? Who is Sophie's Dad, what really happened to Mr Bandhari and why is Dan suddenly not answering his phone?

I have to admit that some of the answers were rather predictable, and I had to suspend disbelief in some of the coincidences in Ava and Emily's relationship. Also, the ending didn't work for me. After all the things the culprit had done, they were responsible for THAT too and confessed it rather needlessly when absolutely no one would ever have guessed? This is a well-written tense domestic thriller full of twists, guilt and obsession and I stayed up late to finish it, but not everything makes sense so if you can overlook that, you'll have more fun with this book.

A good well written book from this author, a dark thriller read which I thought was different to her usual books.

Well described characters who have many secrets which they want to keep to themselves which held my interest throughout.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

Yet again this author does not disappoint. This book follows the story of a mother struggling with the loss of a child so badly she has shut out her husband and her friends and is controlling her other. Childs life because she’s scared to lose her. When an emergency next door sends her having to rely on an old friend again maybe it’s fine to finally face her demons and tell her daughter the truth but can she really trust her friend who seems obsessed with being involved in her life. A dark story of obsession and grief which may be triggering for those who have lost a child.

Best friends are always there for you. It’s how it should be? But what if your friend has a deep, dark secret? Emily and Ava were friends since they were pregnant with their children. 11 years later, they’ve grown apart but circumstances lead them to switching houses for a few days…and secrets start to come out of the woodwork.

I loved how quick and easy this book was to read and how the chapters were pretty short. I never trusted one if the main characters, which turned out to be a good idea. There was just a lot going on in a little bit of time that it seemed rushed.

Thank you Bookouture, Leah Mercer and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions stated are my own.

Two estranged friends. Both willing to keep a lot of secrets to do what they think is best for their daughters. Then things unravel and nothing will never be the same…

I love a domestic thriller and this one is full of drama and secrets. As the secrets come to light everything starts falling apart. I was really questioning how things would be resolved as things get more and more complicated. There are intense moments and unexpected revelations. This is a binge worthy thriller that I’m so glad I had the chance to read.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!
The twists, turns and slow yet steady suspense as the plot thickened in this story were intense!
Two, once upon a time best friends are now not friends. What has happened?

The secrets, guilt and fear that Ava has attempted to squash for years, are now leaking out.
Emily- once Ava's sidekick, is trying so hard to get back into Ava's life.
She will do anything and I mean anything to win back her old friends love!

This is one heck of a journey that I still cannot stop thinking about! My heart is still pounding!
If you enjoy a good mystery and psychological thriller then for sure this is for you!

Thank you to @NetGalley and to @Bookouture for this amazing ARC and allowing me to provide my own review.
Well done!

Ava and Emily meet when they are both pregnant and become fast friends. Then something happens (which we don't find out until later in the book), and Ava pulls away from Emily. Emily would do anything to be friends with Ava again. To her delight, she runs into Ava at school one day and they end up switching houses because Ava's daughter does not feel safe. A lot happens in this book once they switch houses. Just how far will Emily go? And what secrets are all of these people hiding?
