I love the cover of this book! I was very familiar with the case this book is based on prior to reading this book, so I was really excited to see what the author would come up with. I was really impressed with the writing and this book. This is my first book from this author, so I will now be reading her backlog.

I think the main plot is fine. It's not awesome but it's not bad. The story flow is nice and smooth. I like the characters the most! Jessa, Sage, and Sheena will be in my mind for a while. I like the message it delivered and can I say Sage is the best big sister ever?!

Wow. What a fantastic book, I absolutely LOVED it.
Such Quiet Girls was a fast-paced edge of your seat thriller. It had me hooked right from the start, I honestly couldn't put it down.
As with Noelle's previous novels, it was very well written. It was also terrifying, especially as I'm a mother myself, and how easily something like this could happen and did, in fact, happen.
I loved the different points of view, getting the story from every angle. Jessa: The bus driver, Sheena: Mother of two of the kidnapped children, Sage: One of the children, and Ted: one of the kidnappers. I found each point of view essential to the storyline.
I especially loved Jessa's story, past and present.
Noelle is very diverse in her writing. All her books are very different from each other, which is why she is fast becoming a favourite author of mine.
I highly recommend it, and I look forward to seeing what Noelle comes up with next.
5 well deserved stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to Netgalley, Dynamite Books, and Noelle W. Ihli, for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Such Quiet Girls is a claustrophobic thriller by Noelle W. Ihli. It tells the harrowing story of the kidnapping of a bus driver and her students. The kidnappers bury them in an underground hideaway. Things get more intense as the story unfolds through multiple POVs including the bus driver, one of the students, one of the kidnappers, and one of the parents.
The book has a strong opening but it did not hold my attention right away. It took me a little while to get into it. However, once it grabbed my attention, I was gripped. The last half was very fast paced and wild.
My favorite POV came from Sage. She was by far the most interesting character. I found some of Jessa’s chapters, especially the earlier ones, to be a tad tedious. However, they became more engaging as the plot progressed.
I would definitely recommend this read to anyone looking for a fast paced thriller, particularly those who like true crime type reads as this was inspired by a true story.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dynamite Books who provided me with an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.5 stars!
This book destroyed me in the best way. I loved that I was action-packed from the start and had me sitting on the edge of my seat until the very end. Sage was SO brave and so smart. She was our little hero and even I was so proud of all she accomplished. Her relationship with Bonnie throughout their experience had me tearing up and I couldn't even imagine being in a situation like that so young and continuing to hold out hope.
The ending was so sweet and even in a thriller suspense book, I am glad we got to see everyone get their happy ending.

Well written storyline with multiple narrators point of view. It was interesting but was a very slow burn.

Another excellent book by Noelle Ihli. I’ve read a lot of her books and like many of the others this one had me on edge guessing what was going to happen next.

Such Quiet Girls by Noelle Ihli
Having recently discovered Noelle Ihli’s books, this was a super exciting arc to receive. Her books are suspenseful and quick paced. They tend to be more realistic than other thrillers which I really enjoy! This one was no different and I can’t wait to read her other books.
Loosely based on the true story of the Chowchilla kidnapping of 1976, Such Quiet Girls is about a school bus carrying children to an after-school facility, Bright Beginnings.
The story follows the point of view of Sage an 12-year-old, her mom Sheena, Jessa, the bus driver, and Ted, one of the kidnappers. Held for ransom in a bunker buried underground, the 10 children and their bus driver are frightened and held in darkness with no idea when they’ll be free.
As a mother, I felt so emotional while reading this book and it was a nice change to hear a child’s point of view on the situation.
Thanks to @netgalley and @xpressotours for the advanced copy. I also dabbled in the audiobook which was fantastic with 4 different narrators.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. I could not put this book down!! Noelle W. Ihli does it again. From beginning to end this book really hooked me in. This was a crazy story based on true events. Also emotional- rarely do I cry during a thriller book! Highly recommend this book.

10 kids were abducted in broad daylight then buried alive. The most frightening part? The story was inspired by actual events! A bus full of kids disappear but only 1 mom gets a ransom note. One young girl on the bus of kidnapped kids sort of takes matters into her own hands because the bus driver can’t. One of the kidnappers has a heart and is having 2nd thoughts about what’s going down.
An emotional story that reads like a roller coaster up until the climactic ending!

thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I was really excited to read this one but..it just didn't do it for me.
I rated it 2.5 stars. It was just meh. It didn't give me a thrill. It was fine. It took me a while to get through this and I read 5-6 books from when I started this book to when I finished it.
I don't know that I would recommend this one though which is sad because I really wanted to like this one.

I can be quite picky with thrillers. They have to, obviously, be written very well and in a capturing way. But they also have to keep me on the edge of my seat and be unpredictable.
This book nailed two out of three and usually that would give it a lower rating, but I honestly still loved it.
One MAJOR positive is that the author managed to make a whole book out of essentially.. two days. The events happen over such a short period of time, but with the way it's written, it truly felt like everyone suffered for AGES without making it feel like it was dragging on. That careful balance was absolutely wonderful.
Reading this was also one of the very few times I actually felt very real anxiety over the events in the book.
I absolutely loved the different POVs, I loved the characters, I loved the ending, even if it was predictable in some ways.
I guess that would be my only negative, but at the same time, if it had ended any differently, I'd have been disappointed.
4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this free copy in exchange for an honest review!

I absolutely loved this book.
It really drew me in and I had to know what was going to happen next, I was on the edge of my seat.
It's such an exciting thriller and it was well executed to keep readers interested and engaged. I was invested from beginning to end.

AN ACTUAL FCKN NIGHTMARE! I love Noelle Ihli's writing style so I already knew that I would enjoy this book - but gosh was this gripping. It's a very real horror/hostage situation and the multiple POVs was everything to me! You found yourself relating with the villain for a second, which just shows the power of Ihli's writing! She did an amazing job telling this story!

What a well written, suspense filled, informative and scary book! I couldn't put it down!! She captures you from the beginning and you don't want to put it down until you find out what happens to these children! Two young men kidnap a bus driver and 10 children from a school bus in Utah while they were on their way to an after school facility. They had a plan of ransom and to let the children go once the ransom was received. The plan starts to change with more severe result. The story focuses on the view of one of the kidnappers, the bus driver, the oldest student on the bus, and the mother of that student and her younger sister also on the bus. I will say the kidnappers had quite a solid plan. The mother is the City Treasurer and has access to the city money. She is the only person they contact to get the ransom money. She is told not to contact or tell anyone about it, especially the police. Meanwhile the students have been transported to a junk pile in a rock quarry where the kidnappers have buried an old storage container. The children and bus driver are forced into this buried container and closed in while the kidnappers are waiting on the ransom. The mother is racing against time to retrieve the money and also dealing with her father who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I really feel sorry for her trying to decide what the best action to take to get all the children out alive! The children and bus driver are all trying to figure out a way to escape this buried prison they are in. Fighting against dark, lack of oxygen, and time the children and the bus driver have a lot to figure out to survive.
And then to find out this was based loosely on actual events from Chowchilla, CA where a bus driver and children were kidnapped and buried for ransom in 1976. WOW!
This is a quick must read!

An excellent thriller about men who take a bus and it's students hostage. Very good!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

This book was really good and caused my heart to race as I kept getting farther into the story. This is also my first book read by this author and I enjoyed the writing style. Thank you NetGalley for the early copy. It will pull on your momma strings if you have children. I know I had to hug my babies a few times after reading this.

4.5 stars rounded up to 5! Per usual with Ihli's work, I absolutely loved my time with Such Quiet Girls and was truly on the edge of my seat the entire story. I have listened to various podcasts about the true crime event that this book is based on, and was excited to engage with it in the fiction form. Not to mention I have read and loved ALL of this author's work - so needless to say I knew I was in for a good time.
If you were intrigued by the case that this book is based on or just enjoy a tense, fast-paced locked room mystery then this is the book for you. Huge thank you to Libro.fm, Netgalley Dynamite Books and for my early copies!

I've decided that I don't like such stories; it was so tough to read I wanted to stop at every other chapter not because it is bad but because it is so sad and traumatising.

*I received an ARC, in exchange for an honest review*
First I want to say thank you for giving me the chance to read this book early. I like her other books, and couldn't wait to read this one.
From the very first page/chapter, this book kept me on my toes. I needed to read faster so that I could find out what was going on. Before reading this book, I learned that this book is loosely based a on true story that I believe happened in the 1970's. After reading a few chapters, I realized that I have heard about the true story, I saw it on an episode of Dateline or 20/20.
One of the many things that I like about this book, is the different POV's. It was nice to see the story being told through different eyes, not only do we get the mother's POV, but we get to see the events of the story through one of kids eyes. And other POV's, but I will leave that up to you to find out whose eyes those are. If you love thrillers, especially action pack thrillers, with a twist, then you would like this book. Make sure that you plan a block of time to read this book, because once you start it, you will not be able to put it down.
I am looking to reading more books by Noelle Ihli!
