This was one of the creepiest thrillers I’ve ever read! Like this is one supernatural element away from horror! I love the switching povs but some of the characters were a little bit annoying. Like Sage, who is one of the children on the bus, is supposed to be in 6th grade but she reads as much much younger. The plot moves quickly and makes this the perfect thriller read for a stormy night or a beach read!

Interesting read. Kept me on my toes throughout. Even more interesting that it’s based on real events

Such Quiet girls kept me on thr edge of my seat. This book is based around true events that happened in 1976 in Chowchilla California where several children were kidnapped from a bus. Noelle has put a nice spin on this story giving it modern updated feels.
This book is told from a few different POV and Noelle did a wonderful job with this. I did not find myself confused and the flow was great. Sometimes when there a several POV I get lost with all the characters. I felt like i was connected to the characters of the book, except the A hole kidnappers.
Overall this book was gripping, thrilling and gave me good feel vibes where I couldn't help but rootfor the kids and family. I loved the tenacity of the main character Sage and her determination to survive and save her sister and friends.

I love thriller books and I love Noelle as an author. What made this book so unsettling was that it was based on true events. Once I started reading, I felt like this was familiar. It is based off the Cowchilla, CA school bus kidnappings in the 70s. Regardless, knowing that something like this actually happened is chilling.
Jessa is the school bus driver with her own dark past that she wants to keep a secret.
Sage is the oldest child that is kidnapped on the school bus along with her little sister.
Sheena is Sage’s mother. With two missing children and a father that has Alzheimer’s, she’s at her wits end already and now she is assigned a huge task that could change everything.
Ted is one of the kidnappers. It was interesting to see one of the kidnappers points of view. To see their mindset and how the plan came together.
Overall, the book is great! But when you sit and actually think about it, it’s pretty worrisome that something like this actually happened. The multiple POV helps and makes you feel the emotion of each character.

Such Quiet Girls is a 5 Star Read!! *Inspired by a true story*
Bus 315 is taken by captors in broad daylight. Ten children and their bus driver vanish in thin air. Only to find themselves trapped in a shipping container 20 feet underground. They were told they would be released once the ransom is paid, but who can believe kidnappers? With the air and time running out, they must figure a way out quickly.
Noelle W. Ihli never misses in my book when it comes to a thriller and this book was no exception. I felt so many emotions reading this, it was insane. I even had to set the book down a few times to collect myself. At times I was frightened for the children, reading what they had to experience at such a young age. Other times I was so proud of them for banding together to attempt escaping.
I really enjoyed how this book was written. I like how I got the POVs from a few different characters. It helped me dive deeper into the world and the situation that was going on.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, easy, and quick thriller. But don’t let those words make you think that this book isn’t deep, because it is. Be prepared with tissues and maybe a therapist.
Thank you NetGalley, Noelle W. Ihli, & Dynamite Books for the opportunity to ARC read this.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy in return for my honest review!
I enjoyed this book, it was a quick, easy read. The characters were realistic and interesting throughout.
Although the story didn’t jump out to me, and nothing really stood out as “wow this book is amazing”.. it was still a pleasure to read it!
If you’re looking for a quick, easy thriller, this one is for you!

I actually like this book! I like how she bases her books off real life events that are sometimes overlooked. I love her other book gray after dark. She is one of my top 5 authors. However I did not like Jessa I feel like she acted so helpless.

I have read a number of Noelle W. Ihli's books, but this one unfortunately fell short for me. I felt that it started slow for my liking but it never really picked up for me. Perhaps it was the plot that fell short for me, or I may be looking for the same thrill that "Ask For Andrea" gave me, but this book wasn't my favorite of Noelle's. I will continue to read her books, but I would recommend to skip this one if you're searching for more of a thrill.

This was a great book for readers who want to read a true crime story that is inspired by a true event but is not a non-fiction book.
It kept me on the edge of my seat and I loved the multiple POV's!
Fair warning - this book can get dark and intense and be sure to read all of the trigger warnings.
Fast paced and keeps you guessing!

It wasn't fast paced enough for me. The characters weren't distinctive and the kidnappers seemed inept at times. I went into it blind without knowing the plot, and it didn't necessarily blow me away

You have to read this one. You just have to trust me, as a mother it’s terrifying. I noticed on more than one occasion I was holding my breath. The multiple POVs/short alternating chapters created a perfect ebb and flow of suspense making it seem like it was all happening so quickly and so slowly. I loved Sage’s strength and her inspiration of Harriet the Spy that kept her mind sharp and focused on escaping from the kidnappers.
I have heard really great things about Noelle W. Ihli‘s books and this was my first. I will definitely be reading her backlist.
TW: physical abuse, parent with Alzheimer’s, kidnapping

Noelle W. Ihili does it again ! "Such Quiet Girls" had me captivated from the very beginning. Keeping me on the edge of my seat while reading with my heart thumping in my chest with each turn of the page. As a mom this is my absolute worst nightmare. While this story is fictional, knowing that this was based off a true story made it even more gut-wrenching with each turn of the page.
Thank you to #DynamiteBooks and #NetGalley for my ARC of #SuchQuietGirls.

This thriller novel was really good and had me feeling anxious the entire time! The fact that this book is based off of a true story is chilling! These characters completely captured my heart from the absolute beginning & will probably still have a hold on it for near future. This was an emotional roller coaster from page one. I loved the short chapters because the last 30% of this book i FLEW through. my anxiety was sky high. This was a really good read.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley.

I started this book forever ago and had to read it in pieces thanks to grad school life 📚… and I’ll be honest—it started a bit slow for me. Not quite the instant hook I’m used to from this author. BUT y’all… once it picked up?? HOLY MOLY. I was locked in and could not put it down!! ⏳😱
This book wrecked me emotionally. As a mom, it made me borderline sick to my stomach thinking of my own babies in this kind of nightmare 💔 It was so real and absolutely terrifying.
What I loved most was the strength of the female characters—two women, both carrying trauma, both fighting like hell for their kids in different ways. It was HEAVY to say the least. 😩 This story was equal parts heart-wrenching and blood-boiling. And the ending was perfect! This author never disappoints me and I can’t wait to read more! 📚

SO So good! Fantastic! I love that it is inspired by true events. I never knew about that and I now want to know more! I would love to see this made into a tv show or movie!

Great thriller!! A must read! This one had me on the edge of my seat. A pulse pounding hard to put down page turner.

As a parent this book did raise my anxiety, but it was written so well! It’s sad that it’s based on a true story, but the suspense and emotion put into the book made it such a great book! Devoured it!

This was a great representation of the actual event that happened. Characters are written very well and it kept you on the edge of your seat until the very end! She is an amazing writer.

Stories like this are why Noelle Ihli is one of my favorites! This book was absolute perfection. The most amazing heart-wrenching roller coaster ride of a locked room thriller! It didn’t help that my oldest two kiddos are the same age as Sage and Bonnie so my mama heart was breaking the whole time and I held my breath throughout! I white knuckled my way through this in a just a few days and was super upset any time I had to put it down.
I will never stop recommending @noelleihli and her fast paced thrillers and this one is no different. Seriously to your TBR now!

Thank you to netgalley for an e-arc copy for an honest review.
Over the past few years I have quickly become a Noelle W. Ihli fan; I can always rely on her to deliver a gritty, survival thriller. Like a lot of her novels, Such Quiet Girls is influenced by a real life crime and while I’ll read anything she writes, the bus abduction focus really interested me.
I loved the sister relationship between Sage and Bonnie, and the development of it throughout the novel. Out of all the POVs, it was definitely Sage’s that I enjoyed the most. Something I really appreciate about Ihli’s books are the realistic little details, for example how much air they had in the hostage situation, and how long everything took. I also really liked the way all the details came together in the end with what could seem like offhanded comments/objects actually connecting to the overall story.
Unfortunately it took me longer to read this novel than I thought it would; it wasn’t as pacey as I had expected. I think the many POVs meant I felt removed from the story and it lessened the tension for me. I much prefer it when we are only in the head of the main ‘survival’ character, but this all may be personal preference. Jumping from head to head, and each character's focus which wasn't always fast paced, meant I disconnected from the novel after a while of following the same threads.
Overall, I enjoyed Such Quiet Girls and recommend it if you are interested and don't mind this narrative choice, as I think that is the main takeaway for me.
