I would give this about a 3.5-4 stars! The writing is very captivating, and well written. The overall story line and magic is definitely unique and not of anything I’ve read recently. I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery and suspense as well!

The FMC has some really great moments, and some where she just irked me. But, I can attest that at least I it is to her age and immaturity. I do not like the MMC much. I found him to be a bit irritating, and not the strong, supportive man I typically like to read about in fantasy. I’m hoping he grows a little bit on me in the next book.

Lastly, I found the romance to be a little forced. I feel like there wasn’t enough true backstory and interaction between the two at first. Towards the end it made sense. I think it should have been an even slower burn.

Overall, I did enjoy the Weaver Bride. I am looking forward to seeing how the story continues!

This was spectacular. This is the kind of book you lose sleep to finish. The premise is very similar to The Selection series, but it is executed much better, in my opinion. I will be recommending it to everyone I know.

The Weaver Bride hooked me from the start because I love a good marriage competition trope. This book follows our main character, Lovett Tamerlane, who is a silkwitch with the unique ability to open up any door. However, girls of her kind need to marry a Weaver and Lovett lacks money and status to find a Weaver husband. She finds herself thrust into marriage competition called the Vainglory in order to marry the extremely wealthy and high status, Noe Alaire. THIS is where the fun comes in!! Eliot Lear is one of Noe’s childhood friends and is the one who enters Lovett into the competition in exchange for her helping to solve his sisters murder at the Vainglory held the year prior. This book was filled with not only romance but mystery and suspense at every turn. I loved the uniqueness of the magic system but at times found it a little confusing. I’m expecting to find out more in the next book….because THAT ENDING…I need more now 😂
(I’m back and forth on my rating but it’s sitting at 3.5/4 stars out of 5 for me!)

I came to find out about this book on the heels of reading The Rose Bargain, which has similar Regency vibes, and in comparing these two books, The Rose Bargain delivers much more charming characters and richer world-building. I did enjoy the mystery aspect of The Weaver Bride, however neither the FMC or MMC felt well-developed and thus I never felt invested in their relationship. I also felt like the magic system was very thin and the setting outside of Fortblanche was non-existent. I think I will continue to follow this series to see if it develops further.

thank you so much netgalley for the opportunity to read this as an arc

i cant believe it took me this long to pick up this book, it was so fun and fast paced and i was very intrigued in the story
it somewhat reminds me of a crossover between the rose bargain and belladonna, so if that sounds intriguint to you i would definitly reccomend picking this one up as soon as its out!!!!! theres a lot of potential for this series, and after that ending i cant wait for the second book to come out

A witchy marriage competition with a murder mystery twist! This was a cute YA fantasy romance, that had a gothic vibe to it. I really enjoyed the twists and turns while in the estate. I do feel like the romantic subplot was cute but honestly not needed. The Mystery that Lovett was unraveling throughout was intriguing and kept me turning the page to find out what happens next.

-marriage competition
-forbidden romance
-murder mystery
-witches
-sorcerers
-political intrigue
-high stakes

Thanks to Net Galley, the publisher, and Lydia Gergovic for the ARC!

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Children’s Books and Delacorte Press for the opportunity to read this magical story! I’m not exaggerating when I say I couldn’t put this book down! A witch enters a marriage competition to help solve a murder with the promise of finding a Weaver suitor in return. This book full of twists will keep you on the edge of your seat and leaving you craving for more until the very last page.

I am really picky when it comes to fantasy books. I love the concept but feel that often times the worlds get overly complicated. That's just me who prefers the romance over the fantasy elements. That said I really enjoyed this one. I liked the concept, it was unique. but not overly complicated. I liked the enemies to lovers and the competition plot line. Looking forward to the next one.

I enjoyed the twist on the find your bride competition. The magic system also had a unique twist to the weaver goal to survival. The male lead was odd… i feel like he could have been executed a bit better. the twists with him and his “morally grey” weren’t very morally grey. The world was created well, but i did feel a little lost is place and time every once and awhile. Overall an enjoyable read and i will look for the next book.

The Weaver Bride had me hooked with its unique world—silkwitches, Weavers, and magic woven into hair? Yes, please. The tension was insane (think Chaol vs. Dorian vibes). Prince Noé = mysterious, Eliot = brash and charming, and Lovett is witty and lovable.

But… it’s wordy. Like, so many similes. Gorgeous idea, great tension, but didn’t fully live up to the potential.

The Weaver Bride totally pulled me in with its blend of romance, mystery, and gothic vibes. The love story was swoony, but it’s the rich world-building and layered characters that really made it stand out.
It hits some favorite tropes but still feels fresh and unique—and that ending?? I need book two immediately.
If you’re into romantasy with a twist, this one’s a must-read!
Huge thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. Release date: September 30, 2025.

In a magical world where silkwitches and weavers exist, the weavers are more favored and the silwitches must marry someone in the weaver line in order to harness the magic they are born with. As there are more silkwitches than weavers, it is a bit more difficult to find a weaver husband, especially with a lower status and lack of money. Lovett Tamerlane has a special gift involving being able to open locked doors, but when she opens the wrong door, she finds herself in a competition to marry a very wealthy weaver, all while solving the murder of the sister who won the competition previously, but died mysteriously beforehand.

The cover to this is quite pretty and I love how some of the elements to the story are symbolized on it! This story was definitely an enjoyable read, with interesting characters both witty and engaging. The mysteries definitely kept the pages turning and I must admit I found myself surprised by the time the ending rolled around.

I look forward to getting the sequel to the duology next year! That ending definitely left me curious and wanting for more.

Thank you NetGalley, Random House Children’s Books and Delacorte Press for the chance to read this fantastic story.

-ˋˏ✄┈┈I didn’t feel any real connection between the love interest to be completely honest (like NONE)

-ˋˏ✄┈┈I will say some of the plot was pretty predictable sometimes…

-ˋˏ✄┈┈I will say I did enjoy the whole idea behind th ebook because I thought it was uper creative and unique and the magic system!

I have mixed feelings about this book. There were some parts/ scenes of the book that I really enjoyed and other parts I found myself just skimming through. The plot and the way it unfolds is just ehhh, it could've been done better. I did really enjoy the some of the world building, specifically the magic systems and a few characters.

I love lovette Tamerlaine. The love story was amazing, and the ending has me on edge, honestly I'm excited for the next book. I know that he's not the love interest in this book but the chemistry she has with Noe in the end has me excited but her chemistry with Elliot has me swooning. I'm kind of hoping for a love triangle.

This was absolutely amazing. Now that’s what I call enemies to lovers. Every part of this was so tense, angsty, and suspenseful I could not put the book down. I’ve been enchanted.

The world building, was good. The lore behind the story was interesting. The romance was a bit underdeveloped. There’s a couple of pacing issues, where the book really seems to stall. Overall, if you are looking for something romance heavy, skip this. If your looking for a tale with more fantasy, excellent world building, and good writing, don’t skip!

Loved this book by Lydia Gregovic and I cannot wait for the second one to come out to find what happens after that cliff hanger!!! Lovett is a silkwitch where her hair is she currency in the marriage market that she was exiled from only to become a petty thief. When she targets a weaver (Eliot) in a hotel she is given that opportunity to compete in a competition with other silk witches to become the wife of the king of the weave’s son. To complicate things further the Eliot’s sister died during the competition the previous year. Lovett is given a secret identity and backstory in order to compete where she find things are not what they seems as she tired to find out what happened the year before. This book was full of mystery and a will they or won’t they romance. The world the author started to weave (pun intended) was so unique and kept you wanting to learn more and more about all the characters and what was going to happen next!

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Children's Books for sharing this ARC!

On paper The Weaver Bride has all of the things going for it - romance, fantasy, mystery, a unique magic system - and yet somehow it all just falls flat. The first 30 or so percent of the book was intriguing but I felt myself becoming more and more disinterested in what was happening as I went on. The romance was meh. I think a story involving the side characters would have been much more interesting.

✨✨✨Magical, Mysterious, & a little Moody ✨✨✨

The Weaver Bride is such a well done, entertaining romantasy mixed with mystery, magic, and has a dash of gothic/moody atmosphere too!! The romance in this one is great, but there is SO MUCH MORE that kept my interest as well.

I really enjoyed the characters and how well they were built up throughout the story. The same can be said for the world building as well. It’s very well written!

This book has some beloved tropes mixed with plenty of uniqueness as well. Okay so I won’t spoil the ending of course, but let me just say…I already can’t wait to read book two. When is that coming!?!?! I need it yesterday!

I highly recommend this one to romantasy fans for sure! 👏 👏
