I love Camilla Isley books. Her latest, The Roommate Experiment is out next month. Don’t miss this one.

I absolutely adored this book. It had the pining, the hilarious, impossible situations. The tender moments, and so, so much tension.

The epilog was so sweet...

I loved how it was a slow burn, totally believable with relatable characters. That Dylan was a total golden retriever but still sexy as hell...

Must read.

A fun, compelling read, which would pull at some heartstrings, particularly if it makes you think back to a crush or a love that's been unrequited for so long.

In this case, it's 11 years for Hunter, who has grown up with this budding awareness that what she feels for the bestie's brother is never platonic and sadly, never reciprocated. But the change in status comes when Dylan finally moves in, along with a newly-minted girlfriend that piles on the unhappiness for Hunter. Of course there is a HEA...but getting there was both tortuous and torturous.

My complaint really, was the inconsistent pacing. There's quite a bit of angst, some embarrassing moments, and then the slow and gradual catch-up for Dylan when he finally sees Hunter for who she is. Then it all peaks too quickly at the end (and after all that waiting, it's pretty much a non-explicit let-down after the build-up that just screams that you need more) before an epilogue that jumps quite a few years into the future.

I couldn't help but feel that there was some big chunk that I needed to delve more deeply into for that transition of friends to roommates to lovers but was cheated out of somehow. Where is the steam, the spice, the hot culmination of the couple's getting together? The part that leaves the reader as hot and bothered as the characters on the page?

'The Roommate Experiment' was nonetheless, an easy read--Camilla Isley's prose flows quite effortlessly and both the protagonists' feelings in particular, are well articulated and teased out. And if you're up for clean-ish romances, this is pretty much as good as it gets. I personally prefer a bit more grit and dirt in the spice as well, so its lightheartedness, while a bit of a change, stayed too much on the tame side for me.

This was my first book by this author and it was a pleasant read. This was 3rd in the series but you dont need to read the first two to get the story. I enjoyed the chemistry and build up of the main characters but I felt the story was very predictable. I knew what was going to happen and when for the most part. The ending felt a bit rushed with the whole seduction plan. I didn't feel the butterfiles so to speak. After all that pining and longing they both did it all kind of fell short for me.

I am giddy! I picked up this book and finished it in one sitting. It gave me all the feels and all the giggles with the hilarious situations.

Without giving away spoilers, but what Dylan does in the end when he finds out Hunter has a crush on him. OH MY GOSH, I was swooning so hard during the couch scene I thought I was going to pass out--that entire two/three chapters of the book are unforgettable. Best tension ever. Irreplaceable.

I also loved the sweet epilog... 6 stars!

After reading only sweet clean romances for a while this one certainly steps up the spice/heat but remains closed door/fade to black. I love Camilla Isley's stories however the language was strong in this after not reading books with any cursing in them. A lot of fbombs floating around in this!
This is a best friends brother / forced proximtry story. Part of series but definitely can read as a standalone. Thanks netgalley for the copy for my honest review.

Tenía mucha curiosidad por ver cómo se desarrollaría la historia entre Hunter y Dylan. Pedí que ella saliera con otros chicos, que él sintiera celos, que él no estuviera enamorado de ella (todavia) . Algunas de estas cosas se cumplieron, pero al final no me gustó cómo se manejaron.

Hunter ha estado enamorada de él por más de una década, y cuando se convierten en compañeros de cuarto, cree que es su oportunidad para conquistarlo. El problema es que él tiene novia y ella no lo sabía. Entonces, decide intentar olvidarlo y empieza a salir en algunas citas, todas las cuales terminan mal. Dylan nunca vio a Hunter más que como la amiga de su hermana hasta que se muda con ella, lo cual me pareció bien. El problema es que, aunque tenía novia, en lugar de terminar con ella, se espera hasta casi el 85% del libro para romper su relación porque no quiere lastimarla. Al final, es Olivia quien lo deja, lo que lo convierte en un cobarde que prefería estar con alguien a quien no amaba en lugar de intentar algo con Hunter.

Por otro lado, Hunter sabía que Dylan tenía novia, la llamaba con nombres despectivos porque estaba celosa y cuando casi sucede algo entre ellos, jamás intentó detenerlo. Esto es un reclamo hacia ambos, ya que ninguno respetó a Olivia.
