I originally thought this was the actual novel, but learned it is the book club kit! Still didn’t want to not give a proper review. It is a cute little kit perfect for book clubs, and would come in great to utilize for a novel study as well!

Our book club had an absolute blast with the Murder by Cheesecake Book Club Kit! Rachel Ekstrom Courage’s cozy mystery was already such a delicious treat (pun intended), but the kit turned our meeting into an unforgettable night. It felt like the story jumped right off the page and into our living room.

The discussion questions were amazing—engaging, thoughtful, and perfectly tailored to the book. They helped us dive into the characters, the small-town charm, the twists of the mystery, and of course, the mouthwatering descriptions of cheesecake that kept popping up. We had so much fun debating our favorite suspects and piecing together clues like amateur sleuths ourselves. It wasn’t just “let’s talk about what happened”—the prompts encouraged us to really analyze, laugh, and even get a little competitive over who had guessed the culprit first!

What really set this kit apart, though, were the extras. The themed activities and ideas made it so easy to bring the book to life. A couple of us even baked cheesecake for the meeting, inspired by the kit (and yes, we may have fought over the last slice). It made everything feel immersive, cozy, and extra memorable.

The best part? Everyone left the meeting smiling, saying how much they loved not just the book but the whole experience. Even people who usually hang back during discussions were more involved than ever. The kit gave us the perfect mix of structure and fun—it kept us on track without ever feeling stiff.

If your club is looking for a way to spice up your mystery reads, this is it. Murder by Cheesecake was already an addictive story, but paired with this kit, it turned into one of the best book club nights we’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommend!

I really enjoyed the story. Some of the St Olaf characters were annoying like older cousin. I did kind of feel like Blanche and Sophia did take a little bit of a back seat in the story. But I thought they were hilarious all the same. Rose was truly in over her head trying to plan the whole wedding on her own and make sure that all of the St Olaf traditions were still included. I love that the author truly made you feel like you were watching an episode of The Golden Girls happen right before your eyes, especially with comic relief from Sophia. But all in all the girls made funniest crime solvers. And I cannot wait for where this series is going to go.

This was a great kit for a bookclub. I like that it was a balance between things to read to your bookclub, questions, and snack items you could have if you were having an in person meeting. I enjoyed the book and I think that this was a great way to explore the book further. I also appreciated the book recommendations for similar reading.
I would love to see more of these book club kits in the future!

What a fun book club kit! I loved the recipes and book recommendations, but my favorite part was the quiz to determine, "Which Golden Girl are You?" I am equal parts Dorothy and Rose which feels pretty accurate. It was interesting to learn about the author's inspiration and how she prepared for writing this book. Great discussion questions too! Can't wait to share with my book club!

"No use crying over smashed cheesecake" love it! I really had fun with this kit, pairs well with the book!

I haven’t finished reading Murder by Cheesecake, but these inserts are so awesome. I love the book marks as well and can’t wait to finish the book now.

I haven’t read Murder by Cheesecake yet but after getting my hands on this Book Club Kit, I’m even more excited to dive in. It’s packed with so many fun extras that make me want to read it with a group, like the author interview sharing how the idea came to life, the inspiration from The Golden Girls and hints about how the cozy murder plot unfolds.

The kit doesn’t just tease the book but sets the mood for a whole event. There are themed drink recipes, the recipe for St. Olaf’s Kiss Cheesecake (which I can’t wait to try for our next girls’ night readathon), and some really pretty printable bookmarks that are perfect for marking my spot once I start reading. I also love the idea that this is the first in a series, it makes me want to plan a whole cozy-mystery reading tradition with friends.

If you’re thinking about picking up Murder by Cheesecake, I’d highly recommend grabbing the kit. It’s like getting a little party in a package before you even start reading hehe

Hey, hi, hello! This kit is everything! Between the bookmarks, read along questions, cocktail recipes, cheesecake recipe, and quiz (Who else is a Dorothy??) this kit covers everything you’d want in a book club kit. And then some! I’m so excited to hold on to this for when our club gets to this book!

My coworker leads a mystery book club at our library, and she adores these book club kits as tools to further connect library patrons with the book they read! This is wonderful!

I love these book club kits! This one includes an author interview, discussion questions, bookmarks specific to the book, foods and drinks that go with the book, documentaries to be watched to add to the experience, what to read next, and an about the author section. These can add to the experience of reading the book, and questions to help further think about the story. It is nice to read with a bookmark that "matches" the story, especially when you can share food and drink with friends during the discussions.

I highly recommend using the book club kits whenever they are available, especially when they come from We Are Bookish!

This was such a fun companion book to Murder by Cheesecake. The questions inside were fun to go over and made you think deeper about the plot, also fun discussion points to talk about with friends.
