I unfortunately ended up DNFing this at about 15%. There was a couple of reason for this, one being the format (PDF on the netgalley app with the abhorrently large margins), the rest were book related. I read the prologue and wanted to give up because it was really clunky but I kept going. The rest of it flowed a lot better but the plot and characters kind of lost me. One thing that made me give up was the fact that the MMC (male main character) was repeatedly said to be a “low rated F2 driver”. For those who don’t know, F2 is the feeder series to F1 but most F2 drivers won’t make it unless they have team connections, money, a really great F2 season or a combination of all three. So basically, the MMC isn’t going to be great and is repeatedly called kind of useless. I don’t want to read about a highly qualified woman with a guy whos jsut kind of there. I mean I know its a book and he’ll probably end up being great but I just couldn’t. Then theres all the American/British stuff. This was written by an American with a bit of awareness of american stereotypes but it still felt king of uncanny valley (I don’t know if thats the best way to describe it but I can’t think of anything else).
Anyway, wasn’t working for me for a number of reasons. Maybe in a different format I would have read longer and fallen in love with it but as an avid DNFer I think its unlikely. If a book doesn’t start good I don’t think it’ll get better.

I’m not too familiar with F1 as a sport and definitely even less familiar with it in books. I just wanted to start this review off by saying that.
However, Amanda Weaver seems to have a very authentic grasp on the sport and I truly enjoyed this book because of that. The characters were fun but also relatable, her being reluctant and him being the hopeless romantic with eyes only for her.

Kiss & Collide is the second book in the Racing Hearts series.
Kiss & Collide is told in third person POV and is the next in the F1 racing series. In K&C we get Violet and Chase's story.
Vibes you can expect to encounter in this one are friends with benefits (situationship), forced proximity, hate to love, he falls first, opposites attract, racing romance, reverse grumpy/sunshine, and a workplace romance.
Amanda has done it yet again! Thank you slowburn for this opportunity to gobble up this amazing story.

This was so enjoyable and felt like one of the more authentic F1 romances out there. I think this is in huge part to the characters. They felt like well-rounded people instead of the same stock characters that I tend to see in a lot of sports romance. I loved the way Violet and Chase's backstory was seamlessly woven in to show what (*coughs*) drives them. It's refreshing to see a gender reversal with the female character reluctant to commit (for good reason). Chase was an utter sweetheart and wore his heart his heart on his sleeve, while Violet is far more reluctant to openly date him given the misogyny women in sport face. It was also welcome to see Mira and Will make cameos.
Thoroughly addictve. I can't wait for more from Amanda Weaver.
Thanks to Zando and NetGalley for the ARC.

This was a great sports romance. It really felt like the author knew what she was talking about when it comes to racing. And I really love the chemistry between the main characters.

Kiss & Collide by Amanda Weaver is an amazing follow up to her debut novel in the romance world of motorsport!
I absolute love Formula 1 and Weaver's first novel was amazing. I loved the attention to detail to the sport world without over explaining and the accuracy. I like that you can tell how well versed the author is with the sport and truly puts attention to detail with it but it doesn't take away from the characters and story. I like that theres a good balance of a romance between the characters and the fun adrenaline that is F1. Enemies to lovers Violet and Chase couldn't be more different but after a hot one night stand and suddenly they work for the same racing team, things get tension filled, forced proximity, steamy and so fun. She's PR and he's their new driver. I loved seeing a female main character that is a bit tough to crack and he will do anything to bring her walls down and prove he's it for it. I loved their dynamic and seeing Chase's family dynamic because you see him more in depth and beyond the public image and how he manages to make her fall hard despite her apprehension. It's so good! It's high stakes, friends with benefits, he falls first and hard, workplace romance and she's the grump and he's the sunshine and it's so good and so worth the read! If you want a bit of romance with a side of F1, a must!

Wow, I loved this book! I don't typically love a third person point of view, but this book was easy to follow. I do wish we got a dual POV but the book is still great. Chase is so great, and I love how caring and patient he was with Violet. There is a bit of miscommunication in this book. but instead of it making the book not enjoyable, I think it really helped the reader understand the worries and insecurities going through both Chase and Violet's mind. Of course, as a reader we may think it's childish, but putting myself in this situation, I can clearly understand why the miscommunication happened. This felt like a real relationship between them. It shows the reality of what dating someone or being afraid to commit to someone looks like. I loved this book, and I really loved the workplace romance trope in this. I will be posting a review on this book on my instagram @paigetopagereads if you would like a more in depth review and my mood board for this!

IT’S RACE WEEK BABY. So because of that, I binge-read this high-stakes, plot-driven book that blended my two loves -a great romance story and Formula One, that actually felt like the author knew what they were talking about. This is such a little gem of a book that had me falling in love with its characters.
