Narwhal and Jelly books are one of the top 20 series in my K-5 elementary school library and this addition will not disappoint!! This is a hilarious interaction between Narwhal and Jelly and their adventures on "PALentines" day. With waffles... Who doesn't love waffles?! I love that these books have tons of rhyming words and are easy enough that younger readers can read them with some independence. I have been trying to increase my libraries selection of easier graphic novels and this will be the perfect addition to that. Super cute illustrations, as always. Huge thank you to NetGalley and Tundra books for an ARC of this book!

These books do not get old. They are the perfect first/second grade book about a narwhal and a jellyfish who have created a friendship. In this book, it just happens to be friendship day and Narwhal is determined to celebrate all the wonderfulness that is Jelly. As always, these books are full of heart and no matter how simple the story is, the message is loud and clear. Kids love these books and so adults go check them out.

My kids and I have enjoyed all of the Narwhal and Jelly books since they first came out. I've read the first several of them many, many times out loud, and now my kids are old enough to read on their own. Both my 12 and 8 year old enjoyed this one, especially the 8yo. Yet another cute, funny story to add to the series. We loved it.

My kids love the Narwhal and Jelly series so we were super excited to get this as an ARC from Netgalley.

Things my kids love: they’re such sweet friends, cameos by so many cute animals, and the most adorable illustrations.

Things I love (in addition to what my kids already mentioned): great lessons about friendship, educational without feeling like homework, and the fact that both my kids (ages 8 and 5) enjoyed it. It was a fun read for us to do together but also easy enough that my 8 year old could reread it independently.

We will definitely be adding a hard copy of this to our library when it comes out! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher!

This is a great Narwhal and Jelly story that kids will love. Cannot wait for this to come out so it can be purchased for our school libraries.

This was a fun collection of stories from Narwhal and Jelly. A family favorite! Great for older kids who can read to themselves.

A holiday about Friendship was not in Narwhal's head until he received a sweet card from Jelly. Narwhal has funny ways to say see you later as he continues to give gifts including waffles to Jelly. The corniness is top notch, but there is also a rock and roll band, details about ocean friends that need and help each other, a very funny comic book with super waffle and strawberry, and jokes along the way. I cannot put into words how much I LOVED this book! It feels longer (possibly due to digital reviewing) than the other books in the series, but I have it on my order already for next year in both of my elementary school libraries. I am sure it will be a big hit. Recommended for all libraries (and classrooms) serving young readers.

I was hooked into Graphic novels for my younger students by reading the first Narwhal and Jelly. Ben Clanton remains consistent throughout this series and keeps adding bits that make it even more enjoyable for those adults bringing this book into our classroom and library collections. Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for providing the chance to review this digitally!

My son and I read this together as we are both Narwhal and Jelly fans, and this is going to be a classic edition to the series. We both adored it. He was laughing through the entire book.

The NARWHAL AND JELLY people are always begging for more, and they will love this latest installment! With Valentine's-adjacent friendship-focused puns aplenty, this is a warm welcome to the Narwhal & Jelly series.

Narwhal and Jelly are celebrating Palentine’s Day — a special day just for friends! But where is Narwhal? He keeps disappearing! Jelly starts to wonder if they’ll even get to spend the day together. Will Narwhal and Jelly get to celebrate and go on a fun adventure after all? Find out in Ben Clanton’s sweet and silly new Narwhal and Jelly book, A Waffle Lot of Love! Coming December 30, 2025.

This was an adorable addition to the Narwhal and Jelly series! I have been reading these with my kids for years and they never let us down. As always I adored the illustrations and really appreciate the fun facts that are presented throughout the three stories featured. I love books that my kids can enjoy for fun and learn new things at the same time!

As a teacher whose kids love these books, this one I feel will be another hit! The puns and silliness that these characters use to show friendship is relatable to kids. The flow of the book was quick paced and engaging. The illustrations were fun and easy to follow. I can’t wait to add this to my classroom library.

My introduction to the Narwhal and Jelly series was through the original book. I enjoyed both of the characters’ fun personalities and the illustrations are adorable. Then, I read Narwhal’s Sweet Tooth, and enjoyed the humor and the play on words so much that I purchased it for our local private school library. When I saw A Waffle Lot of Love available as an eARC, I was in!

Now to my review. It feels like the author used one pun after another, with very little storyline. Narwhal keeps leaving Jelly hanging and jumps around so much so that it feels like a hyper active kid wrote the book. Maybe that is the vibe the author intended to portray as a part of Narwahl’s personality. I love a good pun, but I also need some substance and continuity. I don’t remember the other books being so disjointed.

I still enjoy the series and will read all the other books as they become available, but this will not be a personal favorite. Perhaps kids will love it for the very same reasons I don’t like it!?!?

I received an advanced eARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my review.

As usual, this Narwhal and Jelly book is adorable! I enjoyed the illustrations and the included facts about different symbiotic relationships. It’s a fun way to learn a bit more while you’re reading. I don’t really enjoy reading these aloud, but I think it’s great for kids who are just learning to read. Definitely a great addition to a cute series!

A Waffle Lot of Love! (A Narwhal and Jelly Book #10) is a “waffle lot of fun!” (Couldn’t resist). I was introduced to Narwhal and Jelly books by my granddaughter. When she was learning to read, she couldn’t get enough of them and read them over and over. Then she lent some of them to me to use for my reading tutoring, and all my learners loved them too. So we were so excited to see a new one! Palatine’s Day is genius! I hadn’t heard that term before, and wish I had - especially when I was still teaching in the classroom. We totally would have used it for Valentine’s day. It was fun to see that poor Jelly is still trying to keep up with Narwhal’s crazy ideas jumping from one thing to another. My granddaughter is 12 now and still a voracious reader. It’s fun to know that another generation of little readers gets to learn to read with Narwhal and Jelly too! Thank you to Penguin Random House for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

Narwhal and Jelly are a house favorite for us. My youngest child throughly enjoys graphic novels and she gravitated towards Narwhal and Jelly early on, but this particular addition to the series seems a bit stale and repetitive. It has very similar themes to the previous works in the series. There was no specific hook that made this one memorable, like a holiday or a specific theme that tied this one up in a nice bow. I did love the idea of spending time together being more special than the content of the gift, but it only came through on the last page. I am sure my little one will enjoy it, but as an adult reading to my children, it doesn’t give much entertainment except the occasional silly pun (I do enjoy those so much).

My students and I love love love this series and cannot get enough of Narwhal. Jelly and the rest of Ben Clanton's characters and titles. His draw along videos make him approachable and more loved by my students. So... needless to say I was thrilled to get an advanced copy of this one!
Love the puns and awesome phrasing in its humor! Love the knowledge about symbiotic relationships it shares. Love the illustrations! Love that it shows characters making their own books and gifts. I also love that it shows the difference between sharing your love and care for someone and for going overboard to the point where it can become "lovebombing". I also like that it emphasizes a friendship takes two and shouldn't be one-sided. Super cute addition to the series!

We will definitely be adding this book to our primary school library. My students enjoy this series, and I have added all of the previous books to our collection as well. The message of this story is great- giving gifts to a friend is nice, but spending time together is the best gift of all. I love the farewell rhymes like “Gotta go, buffalo!” I feel like kids would pick up on those and start saying them with a friend. My students LOVE telling jokes, so I loved seeing a joke in there that they could share with a friend. The fun facts page is always a nice feature- kids really absorb them when presented along with a fun story. And I feel like parents and teachers who tend to discredit graphic novels would especially appreciate that feature. This story is fun, easily digestible, & appealing to young readers.

The illustrations in this book are fun, but it's definitely aimed at a different age group than my own! :)
While I'm sure a school aged kid would enjoy it, the writing was so manic that I couldn't actually follow the story. Every page was equally as overly excited as the last. Great for kids, a little overwhelming otherwise. :)
