This is a literary version of your pocket shrink.
I LOVED it! It's an effective, personal and super cheap way to deal with your stress.
In My Calm Era isn't just a book - it's like having a supportive companion with you at all times (or if you can access your Kindle App on your phone, at least).
You don't just read it and be done.
You go through it step-by-step one day at a time. And then likely repeat it again and again whenever you're getting in over your head again.
And eventually, most of these small but significant practices will probably simply resonate with your inner self automatically.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who's over the age of 10 (or younger but can read) and lives on this planet! It's a must-have book for every household.

3.5 out of 5 stars. This would be a good book to have as part of a collection of strategies someone was using to treat milder forms of burnout, or to create the beginnings of a self care routine. A lot of its suggestions are predictable but the concept of doing a challenge each day was different. It definitely needs to be accompanied by more robust approaches to addressing burnout but the way it collects tips and tricks in one place, presents it as a personal challenge, and gives people options made it a useful read.

90 days to organize your emotions, stress less, and connect back to you sounds exactly like what I need in my life right now.

I am leaving an early review for Camp NetGalley, but I will be taking the next 90 days to go through each prompt. I even pre-ordered the book to continue through all 90 days once the book expires in NetGalley self.

Upon a quick look through the book, I really love the bright colors that remind me of Taylor Swift's Lover era. Some of the prompts (Sit in Stillness) seem like they will be a more difficult to do as a mom who doesn't get time alone even after I put my kids to bed since there is always one of of the three always getting up. Some of the prompts (Clean out the Clutter, Rest and Replenish) will even take several days to do so it you'll have to remember them all.

I feel like this book would have been better as a journal as well, especially if it is mentioned that this book would be best with journaling. It would be nice to have all the information in one book.

I just finished reading In My Calm Era which is an ARC provided by Harper Celebrate via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was also my Camp NetGalley read! ⛺️ 📖

The book is a 90 day journey to finding your calm and learning the best ways to navigate stress and/or anxiety.

I wish I could have actually taken my time and read this over 90 days as it was intended, but I still got a lot of good out of reading each day’s section. Trying to find calm is a process, so I love that this book gives you time to sit in that process.

The affirmations at the end of each day was probably my favorite part, on top of the colorfulness of each page. Each day is short and easily digestible, which makes it very approachable for someone dealing with stress and anxiety.

Personally, the entries helped me a lot during a tough anxiety day that popped up last week. I was trying really hard to push through and keep going but it reminded me that sometimes it’s okay to just rest and not fight it. That I can continue the fight later.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to see it in print!

One of the strengths highlighted by users is the book's practicality. The daily activities are easy to follow and don't require a significant time commitment, making it accessible even for those with busy schedules. The affirmations and mantras are particularly effective, providing uplifting messages that can be referenced throughout the day when needed. Users found the content relatable, offering actionable steps rather than simply stating the importance of self-care. Some reviewers, particularly those new to anxiety or mindfulness practices, found the tips and techniques presented genuinely helpful for managing everyday stressors and finding moments of calm.
Overall, if you're looking for a beautiful and accessible tool to guide you towards a more mindful and peaceful existence, In My Calm Era seems to be a well-received choice. It encourages you to prioritize your peace, honor your emotions, and practice self-care, one gentle step at a time. While it might not be a "one-size-fits-all" solution, it offers a thoughtful and empathetic approach to finding calm amidst life's chaos.

This book is pure soothing energy. Every time I opened it, I felt more grounded, more intentional, and more like the version of myself I’m always striving to be.

Each page offers a gentle yet powerful reminder to care for your mind, body, and spirit. Some days, it encourages movement and getting back into your body. Other days, it focuses on stillness, reflection, and inner calm. It’s beautifully balanced—whether you’re in need of a reset, a mood boost, or just a moment of peace.

✨ This isn’t just a one-time read—it’s a book I’ll be coming back to again and again. Whether I need a mindful moment in the morning or a wind-down ritual at night, In My Calm Era delivers every time.

Super quick yet inspirational read, perfect as a summer pick me up in the midst of mental health challenges! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

I found this book in just the right time. It's summer here and the perfect time to self-reflect. I have been out of focus lately due to the stress in school; to which I'm thankful that I read this book, it helped me regulate my emotions. Besides the helpful tips, I also love the design aspect of it, like something I would have as my wallpaper.

The title says it all! This short volume can be used as a daily reflection or read straight through to help inspire a relaxed state of mind.

Harper Celebrate is the gift book imprint from HarperCollins, and this book lives up to that focus: it contains many formatting enhancements you'd expect from a gift book, like certain pages with a coloured background or coloured font, and the use of a variety of fonts, pictures, images, and icons throughout. I did, however, have a hard time reading some of the coloured fonts. This is "Swifties" coded at times and feminine in style, though anyone can take something away from the messaging. While nothing is unique about the messaging (which is very basic, generalized, and somewhat repetitive over the course of the book), the introduction recommends pairing this with a journal, and I think this is the strength of the format, as each of the entries contains text, a practical strategy, and an affirmation.

I prefer my self-help to be grounded in science and research, and while there is a list of notes containing references at the end, they point to popular magazine and website sources and though numbered aren't connected in text to the entries at all. Indeed, there isn't even an author attached to this!

Still, if you're looking for a cute book with a positive message to gift to your bestie, then this might just be it!

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Celebrate for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Well, friends. I did it. I started therapy this year and when I saw this book, I knew I had to grab it to supplement and support what I am learning about myself. While I did speed through the first read-through, I plan on savoring each page–one per day–for the next 90 days and taking these words and assignments into practice. Am I the only one who listens to the 30 seconds of each song in an album before going back to enjoy them fully? Yeah, that’s how I’m going about this book.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, and burned out with life. But who has time to find that inner peace? This book gives us exactly that–in just 90 days, with easy, simple, non-time-consuming steps, the calm era can be achieved.

What I love about this book is how it’s formatted. Each day focuses on body, mind, or spirit. A topic is given and explored in just one page and then the next page has an affirmation and an assignment to work on. This feels totally doable. One page, one affirmation, one assignment for ONE DAY.

This is a great comprehensive self help book to help start off taking a step back , find your center and building habits towards a sense of peace overall.

When we find ourselves stress and anxious we can so easily caught up in the chaos. This book makes it simple to grab , read the two pages for each day and put into practice. Which is amazing when you may already feel like you dont have the time to pause.

I wouldnt necessarily say that everything within this book is groundbreaking. It is beautifully made, and may help many people who just need to remember to make time for themselves..

I absolutely love the entire layout of this book especially how concise it is written. Typically, self help books about stress and anxiety tend to be filled with so much complexity that they end up being counterproductive ans overwhelming. This self help book on the other hand has a beautiful simplicity to follow on a daily basis. It gives the day, a brief description of emotions and actions we see that may stress or make us uncomfortable, followed by an action towards CALM and a beautiful affirmation in big bold bright letters. This is most definitely the type of simplicity we need to find peace and more mindfulness in a chaotic world.

I have not finished the full 90 days of this book, but I absolutely love the simplicity but thought provoking daily assignments. I have shared the insight with friends and have this book in my cart to purchase. Thank you NetGalley!

I haven’t finished the full 90 days yet but it’s already made a real difference in my life. I’ve only had the book for about a month, and even in that short time, it’s been something I keep reaching for. It’s calm, gentle, and doesn’t make you feel like you have to overhaul your whole life to feel better. Just small moments that quietly bring you back to yourself.

The practices are simple but surprisingly effective. They’re not just things you do and forget, they’re the kind you can actually carry into your daily life without feeling like a chore. I’ve found myself pausing more, breathing deeper, and being a little kinder to myself. And honestly, that alone is huge.

I’m excited to keep going with it. But even now, I already feel like I’ve taken something meaningful from it. You don’t have to be perfect or super consistent to get something out of this book. Just picking it up and starting feels like a small act of self-care. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone feeling a bit disconnected or overwhelmed.

This was a comprehensive, structured guide on integrating self-care and mindful practices into your life one day at a time. Even though I thought I already knew/had tried every one to ever exist (lol), I actually learned new ones like the twenty-twenty-twenty focus shift and checking your compass. I liked the release practice, let go of control, self check-in, and the idea of pencilling myself into my calendar (which I already did mentally but having it physically there is more helpful in holding me accountable). There are some repetitive-sounding days, practices that are generalized, and activities that not everyone could do (hiking, cooking, writing, because my social worker mind always is looking for the EDIA inclusions). That being said, this is something I’d recommend to clients who are looking to build coping strategies and a self-care routine. I would like having this at home or in my office even just to pick up and choose an exercise at random when I’m feeling like I need some mindfulness in my life.

A book promising 90 days of daily steps to feel more calm, definitely appealed to me. I didn’t do it in real time but looked through quickly and will now work my way through each day because I love a day by day book. Beautiful pages. None of it is rocket science, pulling on lots of different psychological therapies theory. Even for people who have had formal therapy or even those rare people who have an already calm life I think this book very helpful. It is an excellent way to ensure these techniques are part of our day to day life. Without practice even the most effective skills are pretty useless. A book I would recommend to everyone and I think would make a lovely present. The pages are attractive and each day is split into 3 sections, information which often includes techniques and exercises then another separate box which gives you a stand alone exercise that embodies the day and an affirmation. I think the way this is done makes it not feel overwhelming. If you were having a hard day you could just look at one part or even read the first section in the morning, the box in the afternoon and then the affirmation in the evening. I think the bite size visuals are really helpful.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this book for my consideration these are all my own rambling, honest and personal opinions

With its focus on positivity and daily reaffirmations, paired with thoughtful, practical advice, this book helped me enter—my calm place. What a powerful way to start your day!

In My Calm Era is a beautifully written and illustrated book. I think it's a great book for calming the nervous system; however, I would have liked to see more content addressing deeper issues, such as anxiety. Nevertheless, I believe this book is a great read for anyone who wishes to calm themselves, and I think it would make a lovely gift idea.
