Raise a cup of tea in salute for the last tome in the Tomes & Tea series. A delightful tale of the baby dragons, evil alchemists, and rampaging tourists, you’ll want to add this tome to your shelves.

Rebecca Thorne doesn't miss in this series and Jessica Threet doesn't miss when it comes to her narration. Like the rest of the series, this is best read while wrapped up in a blanket with a hot beverage because it is COZY! But don't worry, there's plenty of action and suspense to keep you on your toes.
We see many of the events and story lines come to a beautiful and satisfying end. We get more deep into Reyna and Kianthe's relationship and see what it looks like for them in the future along with the community they've built. I also loved that we got to learn more about the magic that is prevalent in this world and their connection to it.
Highly recommend this series, especially on audiobook. Jessica Threet does a great job of bringing each character to life. While I am so satisfied with the ending to this story, I truly hope we're not seeing the end of this world and some of these characters in Rebecca Thorne's writing.

A wonderful ending to a wonderful series!!!!! Cozy, queer fantasy vibes were what I was craving and this book really hit the spot.
I thought this might have been the most exciting and well written book out of the four. I love how Raina and Kianth were established in their marriage and their roles, and the exciting exploration of alchemy. PLUS THE DRAGONS!!!!! WOW!!!
Bravo. I loved this series SO much. LOVED.

The Perfect end to an incredible series. I love this series so much. Typically, I am not a fan of the cozy genre, but Thorne has infused enough action and heat in this series to satisfy all types of readers. I love Rayna and Kianthe so much, and every additional character has enough back story that you really connect with all of them. In this final installment, we get to see Rayna grapple with her duties and her and Kianthe navigate their new roles and decide what the future holds. I feel like Thorne did an excellent job wrapping things up and leaving the reader satisfied. Narration was superb, as with the rest of the series.

What a great ending to the Teas & Times series! It was the perfect amount of cozy and adventure, with the perfect closure. With all the side characters being so lovable, I feel that there’s room for author Rebecca Thorne to have spinoffs so we can revisit this world as well! I know I’ll certainly miss Kianthe, Reyna, Ponder, and Fiske.
And once again, our narrator Jessica Threet knocks it out of the park. She does the perfect job with our dual POV conclusion, and giving us the side character’s dialogue, nailing emotion and the environment.
I recommend this series for all fantasy readers. It’s perfect for a low-stakes fun escape.

Analysis: This series is a nice fantasy read. While categorized as cozy fantasy, it has a lot more adventure/conflict/battles than I would typically expect in the genrre. The Tomes & Tea series is a sapphic fantasy series that seemlessly incorporates different characters in the LGBTQ+ community (bisexual, lesbian, nonbinary/genderqueer, transgender, etc.). I believe this series (and this book in particular) demonstrates the struggle between wanting to escape your responsibilities and wanting to pursue your passions/follow your desires.
Narration: The narration for the whole series is great. I always understood what was going on and stayed immersed in the story, and was able to distinguish when different characters were speaking.
Who I Would Recommend It To: For anyone who loves a nice cozy fantasy book. This series is everything a fantasy book lover could want. Cozy libraries, tea, magic, and magical creatures, all with small town environments, journeys, and friendship!
Whether you have been waiting for this fourth installment of the Tea and Tomes series, or you're looking for a new series to read, I recommend you go read Rebecca Thorne's new book! It comes out August 12, 2025!
I want to start off by saying this series has been a delight to read! Cute and cozy with adventure throughout (but not to where you're stressed out). Kianthe has inspired me to make my own dream home library full off plants and books!!!
I want to acknowledge the amazing job Rebecca Thorne does with LGBTQ+ representation from lesbian relationships to pronouns to transgender characters throughout the series. She is consistent in the way she incorporates this matter, and seemlessly integrates it into the world she has created.
I'm sad to see the end of the series, but happy with the way the story grew and how it ended! I'm excited to see what Rebecca Thorne writes next!

This book is very bittersweet. It was so good and a genuine good time, but I am sad to see this series come to an end. Rebecca Thorne really knows how to write a good cozy fantasy series with fantastic LGBTQ+ representation. Alchemy and a Cup of Tea follows Reyna and Kianthe as they navigate Reyna becoming Queen while still keeping New Leaf up and running. We also finally get to see what happened with the final missing dragon egg, which is a mystery that has been continued throughout the entire series! The audiobook narrator is lovely, I do enjoy how she changes her voice for the 2 main characters. This whole series was great, and this was a perfect conclusion.
Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the ARC of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to Rebecca Thorne (author) and Jessica Threet (narrator) for making me cry in my car ON MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS.
After the events of "Tea You at the Alter" Queen Reyna and Archandor Kianthe get to live happily as wife and wife. Except for Reyna being kidnapped and the quaint town of Tawney being absolutely rundown by tourists. After almost dying in "Can't Spell Treason Without Tea" Reyna is obviously not a fan of alchemy circles, but there is a larger issue: rogue alchemists with unknown intent. Dealing with problems in Tawney and afar, Reyna and Kianthe once again have to rely on each other to solve the realm's problems.
Narrating all four audiobooks, Jessica Threet is a true treasure. Her accents and narration style were absolutely outstanding. I did cry multiple times (if you don't cry about an abused baby dragon you are a MONSTER), but it was all worth it. In most books that feature a romance there are ups and downs with the main couple, but Rebecca Thorne writes about long-term relationships unlike anyone else. As someone in a relationship where we are both driven by our jobs and often have to live apart, I could truly relate to Reyna and Kianthe. While the series wraps up nicely, the epilogue leaves room for a little more adventure.

Alchemy and a Cup of Tea by Rebecca Thorne left me with a bittersweet sense of closure—I’m genuinely heartbroken this series has come to an end. From the moment I met Reyna and Kianthe, I was invested in their journey, and this final installment truly highlights what I love most about their relationship: it feels authentic, respectful, and undeniably sweet.
That said, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this ending moved a bit too quickly. Thorne’s usual strength lies in her ability to paint vivid scenes and let moments breathe, but here I found myself wanting just a little more time in each place. I was especially eager to linger at the Magicary (I hope that’s the right spelling!), where I’ve always loved seeing Reyna test her skills and where Kianthe’s world first unfolded. In this book, their time there felt so brief—like a glimpse rather than the full embrace of that magical setting.
I also wished for a more expansive “ever after” to tie everything together. While the book does give us a glimpse at how Reyna and Kianthe build their life beyond these adventures, it felt so short and stunted. I will admit this may also be me clinging to these characters and not wanting it to end.
Despite these small wishes, Alchemy and a Cup of Tea is still a wonderful conclusion to a series I’ve adored. Reyna and Kianthe remain two of my favorite characters—relatable, warm, and full of heart. Closing this chapter was hard because I identify with them so deeply, and I’ll miss their world. But I’m grateful for every moment Thorne shared with us, and I’ll carry their story with me long after the final page.
Thank you to Net Galley and MacMillian Audio for this ARC.

A Bittersweet Farewell to a Beloved Series
Alchemy and a Cup of Tea brings Reyna and Kianthe’s journey to a heartfelt and emotional close. After being abducted by a mysterious group of bandits, Reyna and Kianthe uncover a strange alchemical circle bearing unfamiliar symbols. Their search for answers takes them to the Magicary, where they begin to unravel the reasons behind the queen’s kidnapping attempt. But the mystery is only part of the challenge. With Tawney becoming a hotspot for curious tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of the famous couple, their friends are overwhelmed, and tensions begin to rise. As things spiral, Reyna and Kianthe are forced to make a difficult decision: is it time to say goodbye to their shop, New Leaf and Tomes—and to Tawney itself?
Rebecca Thorne has crafted something truly special with the Tomes & Tea series. For me, it was an absolute standout in 2024—comforting, adventurous, and deeply moving. Alchemy and a Cup of Tea delivers a satisfying and emotional finale that honors the journey of its beloved characters. I found myself completely absorbed, unable to put it down, and aching for Reyna and Kianthe as they grapple with the possibility of leaving the home and family they’ve built. This final chapter wrapped their story in the most fitting way possible, and yes—I definitely cried.
If cozy fantasy with rich world-building, diverse characters, and heartfelt adventures is your thing, this series is a must-read. I’m truly going to miss Reyna and Kianthe, but I can't wait to see what Rebecca Thorne writes next.
Alchemy and a Cup of Tea releases on August 12th.
Thanks you NetGalley, the author and MacMillan Audio for the audiobook! ⭐️

Okay, this was exactly the warm, soft fantasy vibe I needed. Reyna just wants to have a peaceful cup of tea—and then boom, she’s kidnapped and caught up in alchemical nonsense (again). Honestly, relatable.
The plot goes a little bigger this time (dragons! political drama! way too many tourists in Tawney), but it still keeps that quiet, comforting tone I loved from the earlier books. Reyna and Kianthe are just… so good together. Like, no drama, just love and support and gentle banter. It’s queer, it’s cozy, it’s magical—what more could I want?
Some parts dragged a bit, and I kinda wish a few side characters got more time, but that’s a small gripe. Overall, it was a sweet and satisfying end to the series.

a great conclusion to a great series
I had such a good time reading/listening to this cozy fantasy series. Everything from the characters to the world building was absolutely top tier and I can't recommend these books enough

I would like to thank the publisher for sending me an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.
Reyna has now been crowned the Queen of Dragons and is officially queen of queendom, but her and Kianthe would still rather live their lives in Tawny running their cafe. When Reyna is kidnapped and Kianthe comes to her rescue, she discovers an alchemy circle within. Off to visit the mages in order to get some answers about the alchemy used in that circle, what starts as them just looking for answers turns into investigation as to what's happening to magic. The two of them will finally come face to face with the person behind everything that they've been dealing with, and then they'll have to face their challenges back home. Will they be able to survive and be together once and for all? Or will there always be something new keeping the two of them apart?
This book is the conclusion to the series and we finally get to see who the mastermind behind everything is and watch as Rayna and Kianthe go toe-to-toe with the true villain. I really like that they didn't go back to old habits and they were able to move forward with everything as a solid couple. There were a lot of returning characters here, and some new, but I do like that we get to see some of the other characters from previous books both helping with the final fight and, of course, in the epilogue. I feel like this book really had nothing to do with their tea shop except them deciding if they should keep it open or close it due to the amount of tourists coming to town to visit, and it kind of made me sad because I liked seeing them running their shop and staying within the town. But to be fair, I feel like at this point we haven't seen much of that since book one. But I'm glad that we get to see their happily ever after and that the two of them are settled in and enjoying their lives together. That epilogue really showed us how every decision the two of them made brought them to this point, and it was very sweet. I still don't know if I would classify these books as cozy just because the ending fight was very much high stakes, but it's definitely a lighter fantasy, which is how I feel about all the books in this series. I definitely enjoyed this and I'm happy that I was able to read this entire series. I would definitely recommend this to people who want a lighter fantasy with a dash of romance with a helping of dragons and a whole lot of magic, served with a cup of tea on the side.

A fabulous conclusion to a charming series! I love Reyna and Kianthe and the rest of the characters in their world! I loved every moment and did not want it to end.

Alchemy and a Cup of Tea was the perfect wrap up to the Tomes and Tea series. After the cliffhanger ending of Tea You at the Altar I was worried coming into the book that this installment was just throwing bad events at my beloved characters to add another book. But not only was the narrative of this installment satisfying, it answered some bigger questions I had about the world of Tomes and Tea AND circled back to plot points from earlier books so everything was wrapped up in a nice big bow.
Narrator Jessica Threet has done a fantastic job with the series, and has to tackle some tricky side character accents that she handles with ease. Listening to the audiobook for this last installment enhanced the story for me.
Thanks Rebecca for giving Reyna, Kianthe and us readers the ending we all deserve.

Alchemy and a Cup of Tea is a fantastic conclusion to the series, offering even more of what we've have come to adore: beloved characters, dragons, and, of course, plenty of puns. This final instalment ties up lingering plot threads in a way that feels both satisfying and true to the heart of the story.
Picking up immediately after the previous book, the story jumps straight into the action. Without giving too much away for those who haven’t caught up, Reyna and Kianthe must once again join forces to solve one last mystery, one with potentially world-altering consequences if left unsolved.
Like the earlier books, this entry strikes a wonderful balance between cosy charm, exciting stakes, and witty humour. I’ve grown so attached to these characters and the found family they've built together. While it's bittersweet to say goodbye to this world, I’m incredibly grateful for the journey, and I can’t wait to see what Rebecca Thorne writes next.
I've read all of this series via audiobook and have found it a great way to read them. As with the others, the narrator did a great job and I had a fantastic time listening to the story being brought to life.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for this audio ARC to review.

Alchemy and a Cup of Tea by Rebecca Thorne
What a delightful and heartfelt finale to this cozy fantasy series! Alchemy and a Cup of Tea wraps up Reyna and Kianthe’s journey with just the right blend of whimsy, love, and adventure—with plenty of magical mishaps, dragon rescues, and rogue alchemists to stir the pot.
Reyna and Kianthe remain one of my favorite sapphic fantasy couples. Their dynamic is warm, witty, and filled with a shared strength that shines even brighter as they navigate everything from unexpected kidnappings to the unruly chaos of… tourism. Yes, New Leaf is being overrun by enthusiastic fans of their tea-and-books empire, and the ripple effect on their sleepy hometown makes for an unexpected but deeply human conflict.
Side characters like the ever-dramatic Lord Wylan and the ever-practical Diarn Feo add so much texture and charm. The story may include ancient symbols and alchemical danger, but at its heart, it’s about love, community, and choosing what matters most—even if it means letting go of a dream.
The magic system continues to be soft and accessible, the humor is cozy without being saccharine, and the stakes, while lower than in many fantasies, feel just right for a story about protecting the quiet life you’ve built.
Alchemy and a Cup of Tea comes out on August 12th.
Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the opportunity to review Alchemy and a Cup of Tea. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rebecca does it again. Another lovely cozy little romantic fantasy. The narration was perfect. I’m honestly broken hearted over the series being over. But I am more than thrilled to add this to my completed series suggestions!

After going through a bit of a rough patch with the previous book in this series, I am glad to report that I liked this book better than the third one (although not as much as I liked the first one). I think I would have preferred to read this series with my eyes rather than on audio, as the narrator was not my favorite. I am happy with the way this series ended and that I saw it through to the end.

A delightful conclusion to this cozy-adjacent fantasy series! Reyna is adjusting to being an unwilling queen while Kianthe is forced to deal with issues in the magical world. All they want is to settle down in their bookstore/tea shop but everything seems to conspire against them. It's a nice story with an established relationship hitting external road bumps. And we finally discover what happened to those dragon eggs! This mystery has been ongoing since book 1. It's funny and cute with cozy moments, and a bit of action and intrigue as well. I think it will be a hit with fans of the series. The audio narration is pretty good, though (as I've said since the beginning) the choice of voices for the two main characters always kind of throws me. I received an audio review copy via Netgalley, all opinions are my own.
