Thanks to Crooked Lane Books (they always have awesome authors and books) and Netgalley for this captivating eARC.
You Will Never See Me is a nail-biting, edge of your seat psychological thriller with excellent surprising twists and solid plot and character development.
If psychological thrillers (or even police procedurals) are your addiction, you NEED to pick up a copy of You Will Never See Me.
Trigger warnings for pedophelia references (not detailed) assault and psychological abuse and severe misogyny.

This was just OK. The start had me gripped then I sort of lost interest. Continued as wanted to see what happened. Thanks to Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for ARC

This was an interesting story, though it is very dark and graphic at times, I would suggest if violence is not your thing, maybe skip this one. Alice is having an affair, she also had an argument with the fellow she's having an affair with and storms out of his apartment, taking off in the wrong direction, she realizes what she's done and turns to go the correct way, that's when she grabbed and dragged into an alley. In the ensuing fight she manages to kill the guy attacking her, she goes back to the fellow's place and they both return to where she was attacked, and the man has gone. Owen Pall is a private detective who had taken over the business from a guy that had left it to him when he passed, mostly he follows around and photographs people who are having an affair. He happens to be following the fellow that attacked Alice and witnesses what she did, he decides he might be able to make some money from this, and takes the guy to a doctor he knows to get his wound looked after. He then starts stalking Alice trying to figure out why she did what she did, he also looks into the fellow he saved, Ronnie, which leads him down a path that becomes very violent and dark. Overall not a bad book, there was a lot going on at times, and the story is told from the POV of each person. I did not see the ending coming, totally caught off guard on that one, I would recommend. Thanks to #Netgally and #Crooked Lane Books for the ARC.

Hard to know how i feel about this book. I like the beginning, and the moral dilemmas that Alice and Owen were dealing with. The middle of the book was a disturbing look inside the heads of two sociopath, women haters, violent and that was harder to read about. There was an interesting twist but overall it was disturbing but not in a good way.

Wow, what a book! It starts with a woman cheating on her husband. Someone attacks her she fights back and somehow slits the attackers throat. She goes back to her lovers apartment. When they return to the same place the attacker and the kife is gone.
What happened? She is clueless and shaken and traumatized. The book just keeps getting better and better. We keep getting introduced with great characters who take dubious actions and have something to hide.
The book is brilliant.

My 6P review: Premise, Plot, People, Place, Prose/Pace, Praise
An affair, an attack in an alley way and a knife fight starts this story. When Alice returns to the scene, there is no evidence of this every occurring.
The story started off strong, with a great blurb. Unfortunately, it did not deliver. The first third of the book had me wanting to read it but after that I struggled to turn the page and was inclined to DNF it.
The writing style felt as though the author was telling me a time-line – this happened and then this happened. It didn’t flow for me and I yawned a lot throughout the story.
The writing style meant that there wasn’t much of a mystery either but it certainly fit the dark noir theme.
I did like the old lady upstairs. She was my favourite character.

Thank you @netgalley for the ARC copy of this!
What a brilliant read! Told from multiple POVs, this book follows the story of Alice, who is brutally attacked as she leaves her lovers home, but when her attacker drops the knife, she grabs it and in the darkness of the night she swipes at him to get away. Emerging covered in blood, she's stuck between blowing up her life and revealing the truth or keeping quiet...
Full of twists and turns, people reveal their true colours and slowly the whole story starts to unravel. This kept me hooked from the get go, with varying lengths of chapters and detailed descriptions, I felt immersed in the story!

A Gripping Dark Thriller
This thriller stands out for its dramatic cat-and-mouse game, delivering a tale full of suspense and danger. The story focuses on Alice, a woman wrestling with temptation, fear, and survival after a clandestine affair goes awry.
When Alice is attacked by a knife-wielding man upon leaving her lover’s apartment, a brutal struggle ensues. Alice successfully fends her attacker off and finds herself turning the tables by cutting her attacker across the throat. In a moment of panic and chaos, she rushes back to her lover for refuge and support.
Meanwhile, a private investigator, hired by the attacker's wife, is secretly following the attacker, Ronnie. The PI finds himself in a precarious moral quandary as he decides whether to aid or exploit the injured Ronnie — a decision that adds depth and texture to the plot. Later, Alice finds the injured man gone. She is the left with dread and fear that her secret affair and the attack will come to light.
This is a thriller that maintains its grip from start to finish — a testament to its expertly woven storyline. The author skillfully maintains tension while adding character depth and dramatic twists, making this a must-read for fans of the genre.

Thanks NetGalley for the free ARC! So in my opinion, this book started off amazing. The storyline was very captivating and unique. The writing style was original. The whole book was good, but I thought the first half was excellent. I gave this novel 4 stars, but it’s really more like 4 1/2 stars.

This book gripped me from the start, and didn't let go! It was full of twists and turns, an kept me turning the pages, I just had to see how it ended! Recommended!!

I was really excited to dive into this one—the description sounded like exactly the kind of suspense I enjoy. The beginning definitely delivered, with a lot of intensity and a strong setup. The storyline between Alice and Owen pulled me in right away, and I was curious to see where it would all lead.
But around the 35% mark, the pacing started to feel off. Some chapters were fast and gripping, while others dragged and lost my attention. It made the reading experience a bit uneven for me.
That said, I loved the twist at the end. It was unexpected and well executed. I just wish a few plot points had been clearer. For example—how did the detective know Reid and Dunlap were involved in Alice’s attack? Did the police ever talk to Jason? And if so, what did he say?
Still, this book had some solid moments and is worth checking out if you're into twisty suspense with complicated characters.

I thought this book was alright. I found the premise intriguing, and the mystery kept me engaged, but the pacing felt uneven, which made it harder for me to stay fully invested. Some parts moved too quickly, while others dragged, making it a bit frustrating to follow the unfolding events. I wasn’t expecting the story to be as dark as it was, and I found some of the themes unsettling. I usually avoid books that deal with certain topics, and this one pushed into areas that I don’t particularly enjoy reading about. Because of that, I struggled to connect with some of the characters and their motivations. That being said, I appreciated the noir atmosphere and the complex web of secrets that played out in unexpected ways. There were moments that kept me intrigued, and I found myself curious about how everything would come together.
While this book wasn’t exactly my style, I can see how fans of gritty, suspenseful thrillers might enjoy it.

The foundation of this book is a good one, an attack with no evidence left, and a private investigator who witnesses it.
The tension just didn't build up for me and at times felt uneven, but I enjoyed the way all the secrets intertwined, leading to a long line of lies blackmail and murder.
If you enjoy a dark, twisty tale, this is a perfect read for you.

Thank You for the Opportunity to Read You Will Never See Me.
This book had me completely hooked from the start. With its fast pace and unexpected twists, it kept me turning pages right up to the final chapter. I love a thriller that knows how to hold my attention—and this one absolutely delivered.
If you're a fan of gripping, edge-of-your-seat reads, this is definitely a book not to miss.
Once again, thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for selecting me to share my thoughts on this thrilling read!

A brilliantly plotted and twisty story…. Alice has been having an affair and one night as she leaves her lovers apartment she is viciously attacked but manages to escape after stabbing her assailant. When she returns her attacker is gone. In parallel a private detective is staking out unfaithful spouses for two clients, neither of which is Alice’s husband. So what connects them all? This was a page turner from the beginning. Very well constructed and I loved how the principal characters were connected. Highly recommend. Wow I devoured this book in one day! From the beginning to end I was kept in suspense and shock. I really didn’t see any of it coming. I couldn’t turn the pages! This is the first book I’ve read from this author and now I’m a fan!
I’d highly recommend this book and oh lets just say... THAT ending! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars

This book is a dark noir thriller. It is also full of mystery! Even though I could not relate to any of the characters, they did change and grow throughout the story. It had key elements that I liked, which were morally ambiguous characters in this story. It is about love, lust, deception, fear, cheating on a spouse and violence.
This book starts off strong! It begins with a woman named Alice Hardy who is cheating on her Husband. When she leaves her lovers house during the nighttime, she begins walking all alone. She realizes that she is walking in the complete opposite direction of where she had parked, so starts walking the correct way to her vehicle. All of a sudden, a man comes up to her with a knife and she is scared for her life. She takes his knife and uses it on him, drops it, and escapes the horror.
She then returns to her lover and explains everything to him. After that, both of them go to the place where this event occurred and nothing is there. The knife is missing, the guy is missing. There wasn’t even a trace of blood! As the mysterious story unfolds, the secrets start to come to light and everything makes sense. Be sure to read the content warnings of this book! Overall, I rate this a 3 out of 5 stars!

This book is expected to be published on October 14, 2025!

No one knows that Alice Hardy is alone and walking the dark streets of Chicago after leaving her lover’s apartment. So when a man drags her into an alley at knifepoint, she knows nobody will come to her rescue. Forced into a fight for survival, Alice leaves the man desperately wounded by his own knife and flees with her life. When Alice tells her lover and they rush back to the alley, the ground is bare. There is no wounded attacker. There is no body. There is no blood. There is no knife. There is nothing to report to the police! Great chilling thriller!! Definitely gave me the chills!! Got the heart pounding too! It had great suspense, mystery, gruesome murders, intriguing, kidnapping and some crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
