4 stars! This is probably my second favorite book in the series after Fangirl Down! I was a little hesitant to continue with this series after Dream Girl Drama (I really do not like Chloe as a FMC), but now I am really looking forward to the next book(s?) in the series! I thought this was a quick, fun and cute read with spice that didn't make me cringe and a dash of emotional depth that would make the perfect vacation read. You definitely have to suspend reality to enjoy this series and go in to this book knowing it's a fast paced romance/instalove (usually bothers me but for some reason I ate it up!). I really enjoyed the banter and the humor - I was definitely chuckling out loud at times. I really liked the FMC Skylar who is a star Division 1 softball pitcher and loved Robbie a rookie on the Bearcats NFL team who was a golden retriever former f*boy that immediately became a man obsessed with Skylar. Robbie and Skylar really understood and saw each other for who they really were and were really sweet together. Highly recommend this book if you've liked any of Tessa Bailey's other books or if you like fake dating/sports romances.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager | Avon for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!

I love sports romance books but they’re usually big athletic guy and the tiny non athletic girl falling for him, so to read a sports romance where the female main character is just as big an athlete as he is was so refreshing. Plus as a baseball girly this just made my heart so happy.

I loved this read. This is the 3rd book in this series. So many of the same characters are back from books 1&2. This is baseball meets hockey.

Thank you to Avon for the Advance Review Copy! Having read the first three books in this series, I wasn't as excited about Robbie Corrigans story as I was the others. (given his reputation in the other books) However, this book really surprised me! I loved Robbie's fun loving/outgoing character and seeing a more serious side to him. I enjoyed the romance between him and Skylar and felt they really complimented each other. I had fun reading this book but I think the couple falling in love over the course of a week was unrealistic and bothered me a bit. I would have preferred the romance to have been drawn out over a longer period of time. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend to others looking for a light, fun sports romance.

This story just did it for me. I read it in one 6-hour sitting. I loved the meet cute. I loved the bonkers idea to spend a week together, in a small bedroom, competing with unhinged family members, while pretending to date. I loved the use of planners, scheduled extracurriculars, and pro-con lists. I loved that both characters understood each other so well and accepted each other for who they were and wanted to be. I think the conflict was understandable, and I appreciated that the MMC learned to feel his feelings so well that he didn’t just roll over in forgiveness immediately. I also loved the sibling rivalry, and the sage advice from the equally lovesick teammates from books past.

The nickname “Redbeard” and the line where the MMC laments another male character having good hair in “a normal color” (aka not red) felt like low-key ginger bashing. This would be the kind of bullying that a redhead had to overcome in their youth which supposedly the MMC did. It’s insensitive.

The epilogue was a disappointment. I don’t understanding making the baseball game rivalry your entire wedding and anniversary personality. The mutual “prank” was just not good. Both of these characters were capable of better grand gestures. (Though the dog names were a stroke of genius.)

Overall, I loved this book. The series as a whole has been hit or miss for me, but this one was a hit. The conflict between the MCs felt realistic (as opposed to the step-sibling drama in the last installment which almost made me give up on this series), and I really enjoyed watching them overcome their emotional obstacles. It was sweet and spicy with lots of great banter. A solid sporty rom-com.

Tessa Bailey is always good for a quick romantic read! I think this one was my favorite out of this series of standalones. I did enjoy the beginning half of the book more than the last. The premise was really fun and I really liked Robbie and Skylar's first meeting and the events after. For me, it kind of fell off in their conflict at the end. They both kept thinking they needed a big gesture, but I just wanted them to have an adult conversation and work through it. I would've also liked to have seen more of the baseball and hockey on page in general, but it was still a good time.

I’m not one for instalove but it worked here. Robbie and Skyler were cute and I liked them individually and together a lot. This was my first full length Tessa Bailey book and I think it was a great introduction. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley!

Thank you so much NetGalley for this ARC. Another cute and spicy story by Tessa. I’m really enjoying this series. It’s light, fun, a quick and entertaining read. Looking forward to her next!

I feel like this book embodies everything that Tessa’s books normally do: lighthearted romances with humor and a ton of spice.

This book was full of laugh out loud banter (Robbie at the beginning of the story was determined and a hilarious goofball) and seeing all of the side characters that we have grown to love over the duration of the Big Shots Series. I always appreciate how well Tessa's characters come out on page and loved getting to see Sig and Sir Savage make a cameo and offering Robbie advice in multiple scenes.

One thing I loved about Dream Girl Drama was the time that it took Sig and Chloe to get to know each other and fall in love, I do wish we would have seen more of Skylar and Robbie interacting before the Page Stakes, so their love for each other felt a little more believable. But I did enjoy both Robbie and Skylar's characters.

Thank you to Tessa for a copy of this book!

A playboy hockey player meets a perfectionist softball player and the ensuing chaos is the reason I will always read Tessa Bailey!

The banter and humor was top notch as always. What could go wrong when fake dating, a family competition and some “practice” gets thrown into the mix 🤣 Redbeard and Rocket aka Robbie and Skylar are adorable- I loved the communication and honesty throughout. All the stars!

Teaser quote:
“Who could have guessed the girl whose first words to him were fuck you would end up becoming his everything?”

The enemies to lovers done so well! Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Was it realistic? No. But was it absolutely a sweet, enjoyable rom com? Yes.

Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey was such a fun and swoony read! I was hooked from the first chapter. Robbie completely charmed me—he’s cocky and ridiculous in the best way, but also so soft underneath all that swagger. And Skylar? I loved her. She’s strong, focused, and doesn’t fall for Robbie’s games… until she kind of does. The fake dating setup had me smiling the whole time, especially when they’re thrown into that wild family competition in the woods. The tension, the banter, and the unexpected sweetness between them made this such a perfect summer rom-com. I already need the next one!

Tessa Bailey can do no wrong, I do miss some of her indie content but I am still a ride or die for her.

Brothers best friend? Sign me up. I was super excited to read Tessa’s new book as I have been a fan for years. Unfortunately, this book was not it. It seems like most of her books since the success of It Happened One Summer have just been jam packed with too many tropes that sell on TikTok. Some of them are fun but some of them are exhausting to read. This was one of those books for me. I didn’t like the “type A” FMC and I was not a fan of the instant enemies to lovers then sleeping together trope. It also seems silly that an NHL player would be out in the wilderness right before playoffs. That doesn’t seem realistic but then again, I guess that’s the entire book.

What a fun romp!
I love this series from Tessa Bailey. I really loved that Robbie got some depth in a way that wasn’t shaming him for being a womanizer but instead showing him a different way life could be.

Okay, so Pitcher Perfect was like a spicy summer sangria—sweet, a little bubbly, and strong enough to knock me off my feet…

What I loved…
🫶🏼 fake dating with a touch of grumpy to sunshine… Peak opposites attract. I was hooked faster than a line drive to left field.

🫶🏼 Banter That Hits It Out of the Park
The witty one-liners and flirty sparring made me cackle!!

🫶🏼 Steam With a Side of Sweet
Let’s not pretend we don’t come to a Bailey book for the spice—and Pitcher Perfect brings it. But the emotional connection? Even better. I melted into a puddle of feelings.

What I wanted a little more of…

✨ Side Characters Who Deserved Screen Time
Her friends were fun, but I barely got to know them. Give me the group texts, the wine nights, the chaos!

✨ Baseball Backdrop Felt Benched
It’s a sports romance, but the actual baseball plot sort of warmed the bench. A few more innings wouldn’t hurt.

Final Score: 4/5 stars.
Tessa Bailey served up a flirty, feel-good read that’s perfect for poolside lounging. It wasn’t a grand slam, but definitely a strong triple with extra bases for charm and chemistry.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon & Harper Voyager for the opportunity to read this digital ARC copy in exchange for my honest opinions of this read!

This was almost my favorite in the series until Skylar had to go and be a terrible human. Robbie is a top teir book boyfriend and did nothing to make her distrust him but she goes and ruins a good thing anyway because she was feeling insecure 🙄

Tessa Bailey knocked it out of the park again (yes, that pun was intended)

This book follows Robbie (Orgasm donor twin) who falls in love with the star pitcher of the Boston University softball team. It was a fun read with good banter, forced proximity and fake dating. All the things that Tessa Bailey does best in one book with a good amount of spice.

I enjoyed watching our two main characters grow and learn, especially Robbie. We did get some cameos from some of the previous Hot Shot series books and added some new character to the mix. I think this was just a perfect addition to the series and I would LOVE to see a book about Eve.

It's a Tessa Bailey book. I knew going into it what it would be. I liked it as a fun, easy, spicy romance. The MMC is overprotective with a dirty mouth, the FMC in this case is inexperienced and just as competitive as he is.

Robbie, one of the Bearcat rookies, may be my favorite of the Big Shots men! He is confident, funny, and it is refreshing to see how he starts to change and care for Skylar. I enjoyed the characters and, honestly, a little less spice then usual for Tessa Bailey, which I is another plus for me. Enjoyed it!
