Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of Pitcher Perfect!
Tessa Bailey knocks it out of the park—er, rink—with this sexy, fast-paced, and laugh-out-loud sports romance! Pitcher Perfect has everything readers love: a cocky yet lovable hockey rookie, a fierce D1 softball pitcher who doesn’t take any crap, and a fake-dating scheme that leads to real feelings and even realer steam.
Robbie Corrigan is your classic golden retriever playboy with a heart of gold, but it’s Skylar’s razor-sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude that steals the show. Their chemistry is electric, and the banter? Top-tier. Watching them go from bickering to smoldering to something deeply tender is a joy, especially with the added fun of wilderness challenges, family chaos, and a totally oblivious crush to stir the pot.
Tropes to love:
🏒 Enemies-to-lovers
🏒 Fake dating
🏒 Brother’s best friend (but not the love interest!)
🏒 Love coaching
🏒 Sports x sports romance
🏒 Forced proximity in the woods
With Bailey’s signature dirty talk, big emotions, and characters you can't help but root for, Pitcher Perfect is the perfect blend of flirty fun and heartfelt connection. A total must-read for fans of steamy sports romance with strong heroines and cinnamon roll heroes in player disguise.

I loved seeing Robbie grow up in this story after his immature ways in the previous books. Skylar gave him a run for his money and challenged him in ways no girl every has. Their fake-dating to make her brothers best friend goes sideways when Skylar realizes that she may actually have feelings for Robbie. I will be the first to admit that Robbie seemed so immature in the rest of the series so I was not expecting him. He was willing to put in the work and show Skylar how he could care for her and that she could trust him. The games with her family led to them fully trusting each other, even with a few bumps in the road. There are a few spicy scenes in typically Tessa Bailey fashion so if you aren't a fan of spice, this may not be for you.

A fake dating trope involving a playboy hockey player and a baseball/softball pitcher? Say less, I’m sold.
This has probably become my favorite Tessa Bailey book. The fake dating was pursued to make a long-time crush jealous. As the fake dating progressed, feelings started to evolve and so did the spice🙂↕️ The ending had me tearing up. Do I like an insta-love trope? No, I don’t, but this was done nicely, so I didn’t mind the fact that it was one at all.
Thank you for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it. no one does an obsessed man like Tessa and Robbie was obsessed on a physical, cellular level. I really enjoyed Skylar too. she was a great mix of a little bit sassy and a little bit shy/quiet. and I love how she connected the baseball players with the hockey players. opens up some really fun doors for future books 😏

4.25⭐️ Thanks to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC. This is a fun read. NHL player Robbie is instantly attracted to softball player Scottie. But there are two problems. One, Scottie only has eyes for her brother’s best friend. And two, Scottie overheard him talking about hook ups with multiple women and wasn’t impressed. Now Scottie needs a partner for her family competition and some guidance in her seduction skills so she turns to Robbie. This is filled with classic Tessa Bailey spice and humor, but it also has some emotional family dynamics. Definitely recommend!

Another amazing story from Tessa Bailey, adding on to the Big Shots series! Meet Skylar, a professional softball pitcher who is helplessly in love with Maddox, her stepbrothers best friend. Skylar finds herself with a dilemma when her best friend suddenly backs out of the yearly family competition put on by Skylar's parents. She can't back out. How else will she impress Maddox and help him finally see her!? In walks in Robbie, Boston's hockey heartthrob. Robbie agrees to be Skylar's fake boyfriend while they compete in the family competition. The only problem? Robbie, aka, orgasm donor, doesn't typically find the desire to settle, until he met Skylar. Can Robbie convince Skylar to give him a chance? Can Skylar get past her families disapproval and feel confident in herself? Follow their journey filled with laughter, banter, and some sexy moments, as they discover things about themselves and one another.

This was a fun and non offensive fake dating story. I typically laugh out loud a lot with Tessa’s very ridiculous moments, but honestly this felt tame for Tessa. A few moments did peak out that reminded me of Tessa but not with the same umph as some of her other reads?
I still very much enjoyed it, but having read so much of her books I think I was waiting for those ridiculous moments. The spice also felt a bit subdued for Tessa.
Regardless, this was a fun and quick read. I enjoyed the story and the fake dating and I still chuckled often in the book. It is my second favorite in the Big Shots series so far after Fangirl Down. And actually, I really enjoyed the cameos from the previous books in this story. I think Sig and Chloe and Burgess work much better as side characters as they are so unique in their personality.
If you love competitive athlete vibes, fun romance tropes like fake dating and reformed playboy, elevated with a touch of family dynamics depth, this will be a great match!
Thanks to NetGalley, Tessa Bailey, and Avon for this arc.

This book was such a fun and spicy read! It was a quick read as well. I loved the way the fake dating trope was done. My only complaint was the pushing of the character’s quirks. The planner obsession and the big appetite were a bit overdone.

Thank you netgalley for my ARC book.
This was my first book by Tessa Bailey.
The first thing that I came to notice is this is part of a series, but since I didn't read any of them previously, I didn't feel confused about characters and loved that it was a perfect standalone as well.
Robbie is the main male character and is a typical jock. Skylar is the main female character, who is an innocent college student just trying to get through life.
Robbie and Skylar are fake dating to try to make her brother's friend jealous. As we all know, things start to get steamy and that's when the book takes a turn. They seem to be trying so hard to get everyone to believe they are dating, that they both start to fall for each other.
At times the book seemed a little too predictable and unrealistic.
Maybe it just wasn't for me, and I hope everyone who reads it enjoys it.

First of all…Tessa Bailey, you did it AGAIN! Big Shots is my FAVORITE series by her, because the first book started with a diabetic, duh. Robbie and Skylar are so fun, charming, heartwarming, and unique. Robbie used to drive me insane, but getting to know him has been the biggest treat. He’s so obsessed and protective of Skylar, I don’t even blame her for falling for him quickly and suddenly (sorry Madden…). If you want an enjoyable and competitive book, this is the one for you. Pitcher Perfect will be released September 9th, 2025! And I cannot recommend it enough 💛⚾️🧗♀️🏒

As always with Tessa, you can expect to laugh, you can expect antics, and all of the fun that comes with her fake dating stories.
Robbie the rookie was gone for Skylar from the start. Dealing with Skylar's longtime feelings for her brother's best friend, and being a fiercely independent woman, he was just along for the ride.
I loved the set up of their story with family competitions and all of the fun, flirty forced proximity goodness that comes with fake dating. Both of them being athletes brought a really fun competitive edge to their banter and I loved that!
Tessa always delivers on the spice!!
Thank you so much to Avon for the eARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

This was a fun read that went down easy. I really enjoy this world and the previous characters coming in and out of the story, would have liked more of them! My favorite parts were in Rhode Island with the family dynamics.

Four stars based purely on vibes. This book was exactly what I needed to get out of an emotional funk. Loved the characters, loved the spice, loved Skylar’s crazy family. It’s not that deep but I did enjoy the Robbie’s transition from F boy player to dedicated partner 🥹. And they say bad boys can’t change! Good thing fictional ones can.
Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this advanced copy!

I can’t say everything I want to say because this book isnt out yet but I just can’t get enough of Tessa’s books. Each one gets better and better. I think this one is my new favorite. I wish these books were longer so I could have more of them. It was honestly such a cute book. Had one of my favorite tropes which is fake dating along with forced proximity and one bed. I mean its the trifecta. Seriously go read this book and while you’re at it go read all of Tessa’s books too. I got this book as an ARC from Avon books and I couldn’t be more grateful! Can’t wait for book 5. Wonder which couple its going to be….

Ok I loved this book in the series the most. At first it felt like this romance was going to be a stretch because we got a small glimpse of them in an earlier book so I was interested to see how it would all connect. Starting off, this version of instalove felt very believable. It makes sense why a "playboy" would instantly be attracted and curious by a woman who doesn't give him the time of day. I felt that both Robbie and Skylars insecurities were portrayed and handled very well and they had the right balance of challenging yet supporting each other. Their banter and chemistry felt natural and not forced. The spice was also placed perfectly and flowed very naturally in the story. I was sweating in true Tessa Bailey fashion. The tropes were handled well, reformed playboy, one bed, dating lessons and some enemies to lovers etc. Again these felt very believable and not as forced and contrived. The third act break up felt a bit unnecessary and rushed. I get why some stories need it, and in this case it was actually handled well and with a level of maturity. I loved Robbie and Skylars playful yet heartfelt relationship. I would highly recommend this book and excited for the next one! Full review on Goodreads and instagram to come!

Oh. My. God. I loved this book!! I'm a sucker for a fake dating trope and a "teach me" trope.
The introduction we get to Robbie makes him really...unlikeable, to put it mildly, but he quickly makes up for it and becomes one of my favorite Tessa Bailey men. He's so down bad. This book had me kicking my feet and giggling the entire time.
I really liked the character growth in both of them. Robbie realizing maybe he's not the person he wants to be and working to become a better version of himself. Skylar finally opening up about the way she feels in her family dynamic, so that changes can be made. And the way they supported each other through it. Love, love, love!
The concept of the Page Stakes itself was SO fun. The way Robbie settled right in and went toe to toe with her family was so endearing. His confidence is unmatched.
This is absolutely one of my favorites from TB, if not my new #1.

This book was a cute read and I read it pretty fast. I haven't read her other books to compare but I enjoyed this one.

3⭐️
Unfortunately my brain was really foggy while reading this. I couldn’t focus.
However this was still a very cute read. A playboy and a non nonsense very serious pitcher. Talk about opposites attract.
Robbie is obsessed with Skylar from the first time he saw her. But she has eyes for her brother’s best friend. Robbie offers to play her pretend boyfriend to get Madden (brother’s best friend) jealous.
I didn’t like how every emotion somehow was in their throat. It always came back to something being stuck there. Too many times in my opinion. The reason Skylar was upset towards the end of the book didn’t make sense to me. I don’t see how you can get upset about someone’s past.
I thought the family games were very enjoyable to read and related to Skylar about not feeling good enough in her family. The way Robbie was so observant and saw Skylar clearly made my heart melt.
The kite!! Ugh if my brain wasn’t foggy I know that would gotten me right in the feels.
*I will be post my review to Goodreads,TikTok, and Instagram a week from release date(09/16/25). *

I wanted a cheesy romance to read on the beach and that’s exactly what this is. I’m trying not to judge this one too harshly - just because this book wasn’t for me doesn’t mean it isn’t for you.
Skylar is a superstar pitcher for Boston University, starving for attention from both her competitive family and her long-time crush Madden. Robbie is a rookie hockey player who hates baseball to a comical extreme. Skylar needs to make Madden jealous and also conveniently needs a team mate for her family’s annual competition (swimming, rock climbing, etc) and so begins the fake dating with Robbie.
Robbie is basically in love at first sight. He is also a “serial player” and has a horrible outlook on women. He shows his true colors right from the start and uses the whole book to try to seem better for Skylar. However I don’t buy it. “I haven’t done any of that shit since I met Skylar” - dude, that was 2 weeks ago! You’ve hardly redeemed yourself. What does Skylar see in him, other than him taking advantage of her emotional state with her family and only seemingly to like her for her body?
Anyway, if you like cheesy romance, fake dating tropes, unrealistic explicit scenes, and comical “dirty talk” then this is for you. I won’t be reaching for another Tessa Bailey book, but I still had a fun time.
Found out after reading that this is a part of a series, but you definitely don’t need to read the others to find enjoyment or understand this as a stand alone.
Thank you to Avon Books|Harper Voyager, and Tessa Bailey for the ARC! This is my personal and honest review.

4.5 ⭐️
This was my first Tessa Bailey book I’ve read and I loved it. I really enjoyed the story and the way it was written. I loved that Skylar is a softball pitcher (which I was too) and Robbie is a hockey player (I love hockey). I loved Robbie’s character! I liked the family competition that was part of the story as well. Overall I enjoyed the strong female lead and found this to be a fun read.
Thank you NetGalley for providing this ARC.
