Tessa Bailey has absolutely knocked it out of the rink (or the ball park?) with this steamy, laugh-out-loud, fake-dating sports romance! This story had everything I love; sharp banter, swoon-worthy tension, and just the right amount of emotional chaos.

Robbie Corrigan is the ultimate cocky hockey heartthrob, but it's Skylar Paige, the fierce, no-nonsense softball pitcher, who steals the show. I loved how their dynamic started with instant tension. Skylar is determined to win the heart of her brother’s best friend, and Robbie, against all better judgment, agrees to help her. What follows is a deliciously complicated web of fake dating, slow-burn feelings, and moments that will make your heart flutter.

The push and pull between Skylar’s long-time crush and her undeniable chemistry with Robbie kept me hooked. The wilderness competition setting adds hilarious and heartfelt layers, forcing them to rely on one another and testing just how “fake” their relationship really is. The build-up is intense, the payoff is perfect, and watching both characters grow is so satisfying.

If you're a fan of enemies to lovers, fake dating, and heroes who fall first (and hard), this book is a must-read. The tension? Killer. The romance? Off the charts. The emotional depth under all the heat and humor? So, so good.

Another zinger from Tessa Bailey! Love this series and she just seems to get better each time. I really like how she has cameos of the other books within this one as well. My only complaint is that she made one small mistake and he nearly didn’t forgive her. I mean,
Second chances!

this was 4 stars for me!

I will read everything Tessa Bailey writes. She writes such addicting characters and stories that feel so relatable. I love that about her!

This light and fun romance was a perfect read for a summer afternoon. Baseball and softball are the perfect place for flirting and determining what you seek in love. This read was surface level romance and a nice break from deeper fiction.

This was a fun, easy read — classic Tessa Bailey rom-com territory with lots of banter, bold characters, and of course, some signature steam. The spice was good, though not my favorite she’s written (I know she can bring more heat with better buildup). Still, I breezed through it and found myself smiling at the cuteness.

That said… the plot was pretty bonkers. Two people falling in love in, what, a week? It was a lot to suspend disbelief for. I know insta-love is a thing in romance, but this one really leaned into it hard. I didn’t totally buy the emotional depth because we just didn’t get enough time with the characters together before all the big feelings showed up.

If you’re looking for something light, spicy, and totally over-the-top, this will do the trick. Just don’t expect a grounded or slow-burning love story.

I liked this book WAY more than the previous book in this series. It is a little unrealistic but in a cute way. The characters development was good and the relationship was cute. A definitely looking forward to Eves story though! I hope this was the author teasing that book!

I couldn’t help but read this in one sitting. This is the first book I’ve read in the Big Shot series but it definitely still worked on its own. Pitcher Perfect had all the trademarks of a Tessa Bailey book — witty banter, tons of chemistry, a funny narrative, and plenty of spice. I really enjoyed reading a sports romance where the woman was an elite athlete as well and I found that the enemies to fake dating to lovers — and slightly love triangle — were well-done and captivating.

Pitcher Perfect is book four int he Big Shots series by Tessa Bailey. This one does not fail to deliver all the signature heat and humor that fans of Tessa Bailey have come to expect from her contemporary romances. This one is set against the backdrop of professional baseball as it dives into a steamy and delightful connection between a strong-willed FMC and a charming, gruff baseball playing MMC. Bailey excels at creating intense chemistry between her charcters, and the sparkes fly from their very first interaction. The banter is sharp and entertaining, full of witty exchanges that will make you smile. The characters are well-developed, each with their own vulnerabilities and strengths, making their journey to love feel earned and genuinely heartwarming. The core of the story is the passionate romance.. It is a fast-paced read with plenty of tension and emotional depth, balancing the lighthearted moments with sincere feelings. Any fan of sports romance, spicy reads, and compelling characters will enjoy this book!

I devoured this like I do with all Tessa Bailey books. I actually can’t believe she got me to root for one of the Orgasm Donors. But that man was down BAD and I’m a sucker for an obsessed MMC

Fake Dating
Only one bed
Forced Proximity
Spicy lessons

This series PICKS UP from the infamous baseball game we read about in Sig and Chloe’s book and I absolutely freaking love that.

Robbie Corrigan is a clown (figuratively)- you’re very familiar with Mailer and his shenanigans from the rest of this series. Robbie is a ladies man with a one and done attitude, never even bothering to learn their names, so he is absolutely knocked on his ass when he meets Skylar. Her first words to him are “fuck you” and my guy is brought to his knees.

Skylar grew up “one of the boys” so she has no problem putting him and his bullshit in his place. When he proposes an arrangement to help her get something she wants, he goes in thinking it’s an apology and not really considering what comes next when he gets more time with her.

Skylar has some insecurities but she’s a strong FMC. Robbie ends up being so down bad for her and his little breakdown in the apartment was my favorite part of this story.

The ending of this wasn’t as strong as the rest of it, IMO (and I wish I skipped the epilogue entirely because it was cheesy af) but I loved it. Like, five stars just because of how it made me feel when I was reading it. This series continues to fill me with joy.

Tessa Bailey never disappoints!! Most loved- strong AF female MC who can sniff out and doesn’t welcome any BS into her life and relationships. Love a fake dating troupe with a sports background. Also love how you don’t have to say goodbye to characters you’ve grown to love and want to see their story unfold.

Steamy- 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC and a chance to read this book early! Only took so long to finish bc I’m a physical book diehard and getting used to reading ebooks.

Tessa Bailey- keep em coming!

Robbie <3 and here we have another banger from Miss Tessa Bailey. Reformed player, fake dating, he falls first AND harder—I mean you can’t ask for a better lineup (get it, softball pun hehe) of tropes. Perfect. No notes.

Another hilarious banter filled read by Tessa Bailey. The queen of quirky light hearted romances. And this one was just a perfect addition to her Big Shots series. I have throughly enjoyed every book in this series and this one is no exception. The hilarious witty banter, the not so fake dating was just spun in such a classic Tessa Bailey way you couldn’t help but fall for these two.

I love how swoony her men can be. I love getting to see Robbie be there for Sophie when she needed, to take care of her like she’s never known before. When she first meets Robbie, Sophie can be a little closed off assuming he’s a lost cause until slowly she seems him stay for her, show up for her and slowly her walls start to crumble.

The dirty talking sunshine man was the icing on the cake to this fantastic rom com!

This is by far my favorite Tessa Bailey to date and one of my favorite romances so far this year. The characters felt deeper and it was amazing to see both main characters grow throughout the book. I loved the zany family competition and the he falls first trope. Glad the rookies look like they are maturing and impatiently waiting for the next in the series.

Home run for Tessa Bailey!
The crowd (me) goes wild!!

Robbie was all you could want in a male main character. He was authentic to himself as the secondary character from previous books, but showed so much more emotional depth when you got to push back the curtain and dig into his internal monologue. Talk about golden retriever boyfriend. How could you not adore him after seeing him swoon for Skylar?

While I’m not a huge insta-love fan, I’ll take a swing at anything Tessa Bailey throws my way. The banter was bantering! The fake dating and intimacy lessons were just playful enough to keep things interesting.

Drama and tension don’t have to result in a bench clearing brawl. Sometimes the most poignant and pivotal moments are a curve ball you didn’t see coming. Robbie standing up to Skylar’s family was such a small but not insignificant moment and meant more than almost anything else. He sees her. He sees her for who she is not who he wants to shape her into.

I’m always going to be Tessa’s number one fan. I loved Pitcher Perfect and how it blends so well with the rest of the Big Shots series. I love the cameos of the other couples and how Robbie’s teammates play such a huge role in his life. I’ll always be waiting for more from Tessa but I am also so content to reread and relive my favorite scenes while I am working on my patience.

I always love Tessa Bailey books and this one was no exception! We meet this couple in Dream Girl Drama and get their story. Skylar and Robbie have an instant connection with great banter and heat! Skylar is a college softball player and a tough cookie who needs someone on her side. Robbie is a hockey player and has a sweetness to him. He falls hard and fast for Skylar. . This story was cute, super spicy, and fun! I liked the 2 athlete’s perspective as well

If you’re looking for a quick, low-stakes, fun, and steamy read, Pitcher might just hit the spot.
For me, this book felt very on-brand for Tessa Bailey. It was cute, totally fine, and got the job done. Not groundbreaking by any means, but I didn’t walk away disappointed either. Robbie and Skylar probably won’t stick with me long-term, but the spice? Oh, that was definitely a win. When she’s not going completely over the top, Tessa really knows how to write a good steamy scene.
The story itself was quick and entertaining, definitely something you could knock out in a single sitting. It did feel a little too busy for my taste (a few too many plot threads competing for attention), but hey, who doesn’t love a little extra drama now and then?
Overall, if you're in the mood for a fun romance with very spicy moments, this is a solid pick to curl up with.
