Let’s be honest, TB is my go to author for a silly goofy time with heart. She has saved me from many a book slump with her hilarious writing and gone for their girl MMCs. One of her specialities is crafting a himbo with a heart of gold, and she brings that full force when Robbie falls for Skylar in Pitcher Perfect!
Until now, Robbie was a minor character in the Big Shots series. And I had no clue he was going to get his own story until the end of Dream Girl Drama! And I’m SO glad he did! Robbie is a hockey player, who has really never had a reason to give up his super bachelor lifestyle to settle down and get serious until he is struck dumb by Skylar. Skylar is an ultra competitive collegiate softball pitcher, who has been in love with her brother’s best friend for years. After Robbie blows his shot with Skylar he offers to help her make the best friend jealous so he’ll notice her. And from there, the story takes off.

Overall I rated 4 stars and it’s my favorite in the Big Shots series so far! I recommend reading them in order to see the backgrounds of all the characters, but it’s not required!
Thank you to Avon for access to the eARC via NetGalley! This one is out in September, so be sure to add it to your Fall TBR!

This was cute, fun and spicy. It definitely didn't disappoint, but I have yet to read a Tessa Bailey book that does!
I enjoyed it!

I really loved this book! It was good to hear from the previous characters. I am hoping that there is a fifth book.

"Her voice the soundtrack to his lust."
But then Skylar became a whole lot more to Robbie. From their first interaction it was insta-lust for Robbie while for Skylar it was insta-disgust. Things happen for them to come together and their actions and words carried them to seeing they belong to each other.
"I didn't think anyone would see, she whispered...
"Really, Rocket?..."Don't you know I never stop looking at you? Robert said.
Antics to banter this story kept me entertained.
*Much thanks for Avon for having this on NetGalley as Read Now for a short period of time.*

4⭐️ This book had me kicking, screaming, giggling… the whole chaotic spiral.
Robbie Corrigan?? He’s ridiculous in the best way, and I adored him. I wasn’t expecting to love this as much as I did, but the enemies-to-lovers tension, fake dating, and constant banter? Literal gold. Skylar is such a strong, grounded lead and the way she holds her own against Robbie’s over-the-top charm made their dynamic so fun to watch unfold.
It’s flirty, spicy, and full of moments that had me smiling like a dork.
Tropes:
🥎 Enemies to lovers
🏒 Opposites attract
🥎 Fake dating
🏒 Hockey playboy
🥎 Softball badass MMC
Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC via NetGalley!

I love Tessa Bailey books and especially the Big Shots series so it was a shock to no one that I adored this book. While this won't be for everyone, I loved the competitive aspect for both our FMC and MMC! This book has top-tier banter, he falls hard, and also has some very cute moments between Scottie and Robbie. Overall a fun time! 3.75 stars rounded to 4. Thanks Netgalley!

I wish I liked this one more than I did but it just didn’t come together for me.
Robbie is somehow both a gross misogynist playboy AND a total sweetheart but I didn’t really believe either side of him. Skylar read as really unlikable and kind of annoying. The “other man” felt shoehorned in as a means to get to the next book in the series as did Eve, the FMC’s bestie-we meet them and get glimpses of them but they felt more like plot devices than characters to me.
The premise was fun but too over the top for me to really get into it. Skylar’s family is actually insane and sort of terrible until they make a very quick turn around in behavior which wasn’t believable. All in all this one felt like a bridge to the next book in the series-which I will read because I’ve loved first three-and ten tropes in a trench coat. It’s not bad and it’s not off base for what I would expect from Tessa Bailey it’s just not for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Harper Voyage for the ARC in exchange for my review!

In the stories leading up to this, I loathed Robbie and was curious how Tessa was going to make him tolerable. I found my answer quickly -- Skylar. She did not tolerate his BS but also let him show her the real him. I love me a good fake dating trope and this one was *chefs kiss* I can't wait for the world to meet Skylar and Robbie (well more than they already have)

It honestly took me a while to warm up to Robbie and Skylar. It was very clear from the get-go that Madden was hopelessly obsessed with someone else which makes me believe the next book is about those two. I digress.
I believe Robbie was a perfect example of "reformed lover boy" and hated their fight at the one point that was the focus on his past, but I'm glad Skylar was understanding that he had changed bc it would've been frustrating had she not.
My fave part is probably when he bought the gear for the family and basically called them out on being assholes. It was nice that she had someone on her side to stick up for her.
This book is probably my favorite of the Big Shots series thus far!
Thank you to Avon and Tessa Bailey for an e-ARC. All thoughts are my own.

Tessa Bailey never fails to deliver a great read. Pitcher Perfect was engaging and contained all of my favorite tropes. Robbie and Skylar had great chemistry and witty banter. I especially loved the family “olympics” because it was a really unique storyline. I did think that the last 10-15% got a little too cheesy for my taste but it was still a great book that fans of Tessa Bailey are going to love.

I found this story a bit silly and unrealistic. If you want romance it had that. I just wish it had been a bit more realistic. I did like having a few of the past Bearcats show up. Thanks NetGalley for the advanced copy. #PitcherPerfect #NetGalley

Thank you Avon/Harper Voyager & NetGalley for this super fun ARC!
If you told me when I started this series that Robbie's story would be one of my favorites, I wouldn't believe you, but alas here we are. I loooved this fake dating romance! Was I a little thrown off that the entire story from meeting -> falling in love seems to span like 4 days? Absolutely... and yet I think it was well done. Skylar was a solid FMC & Robbie makes me wish gingers were real 💔
Also Sands Point Preserve is mentioned multiple times (and even visited at the end), so I'm convinced this was written for me specifically (I love you, Sands Point!!!)
Sig & Chloe's book is still my #1, but this is like 1.5 (not even 2nd place, I enjoyed it THAT much).

This was such a fun read by Tessa Bailey!
If you're a fan of the fake-relationship trope, this is fake dating done right.
Skylar has been in love with Madden forever. If only he could see her the same way! Determined to change things, she ropes in Robbie to play the role of her fake boyfriend. The plan? Simple: act totally smitten with each other in front of Madden, make him jealous, and BOOM he falls for her. Easy, right? LOL. Not even close.
I wasn’t sure this book would work for me, but it totally did. Let me explain why:
One, I usually don’t love insta-love. But somehow, this one hit the right note. Skylar and Robbie’s first meeting is the opposite of a meet-cute. Robbie is obnoxiously bragging to his teammates about the girl he brought home the night before. I was convinced he couldn’t bounce back from that... but I was wrong.
Two, I love when the MMC falls first and falls hard. Robbie was all in from the beginning. He just wants to stay in Skylar’s orbit...even if it means competing in a “friendly” (read: wildly competitive) family tournament.
Three, speaking of the tournament! My competitive side was living for it. I loved the chaotic family energy.
All in all, this was a genuinely enjoyable read. If you’re into the fake dating trope, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up!

Tessa Bailey books are always a good time- how much of a good time is what differentiates them. This one is one of her best, if I do say so myself.
I loved all the characters in this book, the outlandish scenarios, and the spicy moments.
In order to enjoy this book to its full potential, you have to suspend your disbelief a little due to the events of this book taking place over such a short amount of time, but I think that this is definitely worth a read!
ARC provided by netgalley :)

I genuinely think Tessa is incapable of writing a bad book. Everything is the perfect combination of steamy, emotional, funny & romantic! I love them and love this so much as well. Best one of Tessa’s since it happened one summer!

I love Tessa and this did not disappoint. It was sweet, spicy, emotional, and I was really happy with how it ended. It made me nostalgic for home (Long Island) in the best way. I haven’t had the chance to read Dream Girl Drama yet, so I was worried that book would be spoiled by reading this one, but it wasn’t which I was happy about.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book! Skyler and Robbie are both compelling characters that hook you from the start. Both are professional athletes - Skyler plays softball for Boston University and Robbie plays hockey for the local pro team. Robbie being the notorious "orgasm donor #1" from the previous books in the series, you wouldn't think that he is ready to settle down. Until he meets Skyler. Overall, the story is addicting and super fun. I couldn't put it down (until my toddler demanded) and finished it quickly. The only negative is that it is hard to change a man and in this story, Robbie is just "changed" overnight from being a womanizer to a one woman man who wants to be with Skyler forever. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this book!

If I could give any book a million stars, it would be this one. I loved this book so much. This series just keeps getting better and better with every book. In fact, I’m pretty sure that for every single book in the Big Shots series I’ve said it’s been my favorite.
Tessa, I don’t know how you did it. I’m not a sports girlie. I tried out for volleyball in the 6th grade, and they gave me a rejection letter in the form of a poem. In high school, I threw a basketball and hit another boy in the head. My students clap when I catch something that they’ve tossed at me. Sports and me do not mix well. Yet, the Big Shots series is one of my most favorite series. It must be the Tessa Bailey Phenomenon.
But anyways, let’s talk about the book: I fell in love with a reformed Orgasm Donor. Robbie’s character development was amazing. If you’ve followed the series, we’ve seen his player ways with the ladies. Bring in Skylar (who is emotionally unavailable as her crush on her brother’s bff rivaled my middle school crush—Edward Cullen, I had the life sized cut out and everything) and it was simply love at first sight (for him anyway). I loved their friendship and relationship, both fake and real. Reading both POVs made it seem so raw and so full of emotion. They were exactly what the other needed and fit perfectly. Honestly just thinking about them gives me butterflies and the giggles and all the awes.
Tessa, as always this book was a home run (please tell me you’re not sick of this joke yet). I can’t wait to see what else this series, and you, have in store.

I seriously loved fangirl down and think it’s the best book of the series. Pitcher perfect was better than dream girl drama and I enjoyed the premise but some areas just didn’t click for me.
I was wanting more enemies to lovers or at least rivals to lovers. This was very fast paced instant attraction etc. the scene with meeting the family and hanging out I don’t know how they were so familiar with eachother. It could have added some layers of fun and realness if they had hiccups from this because well- they didn’t know eachother when they fake dated. I also thought it was a bit wild with the discussion of future children when the FMC and MMC didn’t even know eachother for a week yet.
However there are aspects I enjoyed such as the college shirt moment, some banter, mix of sports (hockey and softball).

Tessa Bailey once again delivers a charming, steamy, and emotionally satisfying romance in Pitcher Perfect. With her signature wit and lovable characters, she brings a story that feels both fun and full of heart.
Pitcher Perfect follows the story of [insert main character’s name here if you’d like—it helps personalize the review], who finds themselves entangled in a slow-burn romance that balances flirty tension with genuine emotional growth. Bailey’s writing shines through her clever dialogue, laugh-out-loud moments, and steamy chemistry that jumps off the page.
What I appreciated most was the balance between light-hearted romantic fun and the deeper emotional arcs. The characters aren’t just falling in love—they’re working through personal fears, past hurts, and learning to open themselves up in ways that feel real and relatable.
If you’re a fan of sports romance, small-town vibes, or love a good opposites-attract trope, this book hits all the right notes. It’s sexy, sweet, and full of that unmistakable Tessa Bailey spark. I devoured it in a day—and smiled the whole way through.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A perfect summer read!
Thank you NetGalley for the E-arc of Pitcher Perfect in exchange for my honest opinion!
