I am the BIGGEST Tessa Bailey fan and will always recommend anything she writes. This one didn't feel as deep as her other books, but I liked it! The banter between the two main characters was so cute and I really was rooting for them. I wished there was a little more to the relationship, but I will definitely still be buying a physical copy to add to my shelves.

Tessa knocked it out of the park with this one! The witty banter and the sarcastic quips between these characters is immaculate. I immediately liked Skylar and I knew she would be the perfect match for soon-to-be reformed playboy Robbie. The fake dating and scheduling of steamy lessons in this book could have come off as cheesy but I loved it so much and it made the anticipation worth the wait. Tessa sure does know how to write a dirty talking man that will have you blushing and swooning and the fact that he is doing it out of pure adoration makes it all that sweeter. I also loved how Robbie could sense Skylar's feelings with her family and friends and supported her and made sure she was taken care of at all times. Also? This man can eat!
I will admit that some of Tessa's books are a miss for me but this one was a homerun! I have really enjoyed the novels in the "Big Shots" series and I can't wait for more.
Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager | Avon for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Tessa Bailey one offs- they usually turn into multiverse connected stories. This one was no different. Thewitty banter and fake dating- the sexual tension and finding the one. very very cute. i'd love to read chloe and sig's or madden and eve's next.

Star- 4.5
Spice- 2.5

This is book four in the Big Shots series and I have been lucky to get the last 3 books ARCs! This book has the banter, the love and everything in between. This book made me laugh out loud many times! I did not want to put this down.
Chloe from Dream Girl Drama, book 3 in the series made an appearance and had me crying from laughing so hard! Love her!
This book follows Robbie (MMC) is a Hockey player in the NHL. Skylar (FMC) is a college D1 softball player. Robbies was completely head-over-heels for Skylar from the start but I didn't see it as instalove. He was most definitely attracted to her right off the bat. But I felt like Tessa Bailey did it in a way that didn't make it cringe. If you have read the series you know who Robbie is and if your like me you already loved him.
I highly recommend this book and the whole series! Thank you to Tess Bailey and Netgally for the eARC! Book releases on September 09,2025

I hated every second of this book. Why is this being marketed as enemies to lovers? The entire story takes place over the course of two weeks. That is not enough time to get to know someone well enough to love them, let alone hate them with every fiber of your being like a true enemy. They just don't like each other, they are not enemies. Why in the year 2025 are we still writing women that do not know their own worth? It is not cute for a woman to be, "oh there is no way any man could every like me, they never do, I am just one of the guys." That is the main thing that made me not like this book. We should be supporting strong women that believe in themselves and their ability to do whatever they set their mind to. This book did the exact opposite with Skylar. The timeline is so unrealistic. The book takes place over two weeks. At the start, Robbie is a playboy douchebag, and Skylar shuts him down rightfully so. Then within a week he is determined to change his ways all for her, this girl he doesn't even know and he loves her? They do not know each other at all. Why are they sharing their deepest darkest secrets so quickly? How can you truly trust someone in such a short amount of time? It is also never established how old Robbie is, so when he calls her college girl during one of the sex scenes, and that gave me the ick because I assumed he wasn't that much older than her, and that just made me feel like he thought of her in a gross, infantile way. I did not enjoy this book at all, and only read it for the softball aspect, but there was barely any softball in it.

This one is a 3.5 rounded up.
I do enjoy Tessa's story telling, I've read many of her books. While I enjoy most of them, this one
missed the mark for me.
Things I liked:
the banter
the steamy scenes
the competition
reconciling with family
Things I didn't like:
I wish there was more exploration into the "love" for someone else
the 3rd act
the insta love - it was TOO INSTA (IYKYK)
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC

This was so fun! The series started out strong and then started to loose me with the last one. But Pitcher Perfect was the perfect addition at the right time. It has so many tropes and they all mostly work. Fake dating, sport romance, competing sports, forced proximity, enemies to lovers (sort of), guy falls first. Overall, it was a great mix of fun and humor but also some emotion and self growth involved, which worked well considering the character's ages. I also think Bailey is one of the best spicy writers and definitely delivered on this one! It makes me excited for the next one which I can only assume is about Madden and Eve. The two things that bumped this down to 4 stars was I didn't understand or believe Skylar's love for Madden. We needed more backstory. I also didn't totally love or buy into the weird family competition.

4.25 ⭐️
Things I loved:
-MMC shows love with actions moreso than words (Tessa seems to be the best at writing these types of men). I especially loved how he stuck up for her towards her family.
-That the MMC recognized that his past F boy behaviors were bad and put in the work to change them.
Things I didn’t particularly care for:
-Third person POV.
-Instalove. Everything happens within a couple weeks time.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

3.5 rounded down! I did really enjoy this story but overall felt it was very rushed! I thought the relationship, chemistry, and connection was set up well and made sense! I love how Robbie was so down bad for Skylar and there for her 10000% when everyone else was seeing her persona but not HER. I just wanted a little more. I wanted something deeper from them. Like the spice was spicing so well (duh Tessa knows what she’s doing!) but I wanted to see them dive deeper into their emotional connection.
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager and the author for an ARC for my honest review :) This book is expected to be released on September 9, 2025

I love Tessa Baily books and this is no one was exception. It was fun and light, everything that makes for a fun read.

Tessa Bailey can be a bit hit or miss for me, but this whole series seems to be a hit! I would not call this enemies to lovers, but the banter between these two "enemies" was great. The spice was definitely spicing in this one!
This book was low stakes and fun - perfect for reading on the beach!

I devoured this book! If you’re a fan of Tessa Bailey’s signature mix of fiery banter and steamy scenes, you’re in for a treat but this one hits deeper. Robbie Corrigan isn’t just another charming athlete; he’s utterly devoted to Skylar, ready to leave behind his player ways the second she gives him a chance. And honestly? That kind of dedication was so swoon-worthy.
Skylar, on the other hand, isn’t about to fall for smooth lines and flirtatious grins. She’s focused, fierce, and not easily swayed but watching her slowly open up to Robbie was such a beautiful journey. Their relationship evolves through trust, competition, and some seriously electric chemistry, making every moment feel real and earned.
What really stood out, though, was how Robbie always had Skylar’s back, even when the people closest to her didn’t realize they were letting her down. It wasn’t just about romance, it was about unwavering support, finding your voice, and learning to let someone in. Their personal growth, both individually and as a couple, made this more than just a fun sports romance; it was genuinely heartfelt.
If you love a hero who falls hard, a heroine who makes him work for it, and a romance that’s equal parts playful and emotional, then you need this book in your life.
Thank you so much Netgalley, Avon and Tessa Bailey!! I ate this book up!!

Awwww I love when Tessa gets it right! This was the cutest and you can inhale it in one sitting! I don't mean to be a downer, but her previous two books in this series were serious NOs from me. It felt flat and awkward and I just couldn't get behind either MCs. This one? This one, had all the sparks from the first book in this series, Fangirl Down.
Summary:
Robbie is a rookie professional hockey player who lives his carefree, bachelor life style. Until bam! He meets Skylar Page a D1 All American softball pitcher. Their meet cute? Her mouthing 'fuck you' to him across a baseball field. As much as Skylar tries to hate Robbie, she falls hard for him.
I loved both Robbie and Skylar. They were hilarious, fun, super competitive, and driven. There was a levity in this book that I missed from her previous ones. Honestly, I was shocked about how much I enjoyed it!.
Thank you #NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my sincere review.

This was a cute and fun read that I found great for summer. I love sport romances and found myself smiling and laughing at some parts during this story. I thought the concept for the story was great and liked the MMC a lot. However I wasn’t able to connect with the FMC a lot and the overall story as much as in would like but believe others may feel differently and will point them to this book if looking for a cute and fun read.
Thank you to the publisher and net galley for this arc in exchange for an honest review,

I am obsessed with Pitcher Perfect. I’m new to hockey romance, but I GET IT. Tessa brings her steam and charm to this one and I love rounding out the relationships that we started with in The Au Pair Affair.

For me Tessa can do no wrong. This entire series has been some of my favorite books. Every single one of these books has had me in my feels while kicking my feet giggling like a preteen. Let me just say Pitcher Perfect did not disappoint. The fake dating trope WILL ALWAYS get me. I also kinda just love Robbie.

I love Tessa Bailey so much.
Softball pitcher vs meathead hockey player romance.
I thought no way could she make me like Robbie Cochran from the earlier books. One of the orgasm donor twins. But she turns him from total player to tunnel vision obsessed with Skylar.
We had lots of spice and minimal conflict in the relationship.

Pitcher Perfect felt like a breath of fresh air. After very serious Sig and Burgess, Robbie Corrigan is the MMC this series deserves! He takes Skylar serious from the second she calls out his bad behavior, and because it serves as a true wakeup call that inspires his lifestyle change, everything that follows feels authentic in the most delicious rom-com way!
Tropes to look out for: spice lessons, reformed player, and fake dating!
What's next? An Irish pro-baller and a single mom? I HOPE SO

This is the fourth book of the Big Shot series and I ate it up. So fun, banter and yearning on point, and laugh out loud moments that made it hard to put this book down. I can’t wait for the next one!

I could barely get through this book. My apologies to the author, but it was really hard to read. I found it boring and uninteresting. The characters left me completely puzzled. On one hand, we have a playboy who’s been chasing women his whole life, and suddenly he falls in love with an ordinary girl at first sight. Why? Out of nowhere? Makes no sense.
Then there’s the main character who’s supposedly been in love with her brother’s friend for years, but after less than a week, she suddenly thinks she has feelings for this fake boyfriend, Robbie. Thinks, because she doesn’t even know what she wants and is ready to run to whoever gives her the slightest bit of attention.
And supposedly, she’s not triggered by Robbie’s past, but the moment any details about it come up, she clearly doesn’t like it.
On top of all that, these two professional athletes somehow have an entire week of free time to take part in these weird competitions. Especially Robbie, who shows up at the last minute but still has plenty of free time.
I have so many questions about this book.
