Thank you Net Galley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC. This was my first Tessa Bailey book.m and was excited to read one of her books. Big picture this is a romance novel, yes some of the details probably don’t make sense like a hockey player doing a competition right before playoffs and also saying the 3 words so soon after like 3 weeks of knowing each other. Anyway it was a cute story between a pitcher and a hockey player who stands up for her to her family too. I enjoyed it as a quick mindless read. Looking forward to reading her other books.

I genuinely can’t put Into words how much I loved this book. And proves exactly why she is one of my all time favorite authors!
I especially loved how it’s a stand alone book, but also in a series, where the characters from past books, like sig, Chloe, burgess all tie so neat and perfectly. How we get another POV of the baseball game. I love all the details! Only the real OGs know about the orgasm donor hoodies!
It was perfection on every page!

I am simply blown away with how much I loved Robbie and Skylar’s story. From the very first “fuck you” to the epilogue I was LIVING for these two idiots in love (mostly on Robbie’s end. A playboy finally meeting THE girl? Be still my heart, I cannot get over how down bad I am for Robbie being down bad for Skylar😭. I also loved that he wasn’t always a player and had some good in him, clearly resolved throughout the story and proven in actions rather than words which was so freaking perfect. I wish we had more time for developing the story as this mostly occurs over a few weeks? But I guess when love strikes, time doesn’t exist!
Skylar is someone I immediately connected with despite my lack of athleticism. I related to her wanting to be seen and feeling like she was on a team and when Robbie became her team, I almost cried. She is so strong and deserves everything and I just love that Robbie was able to show her and prove that to her.
I wouldn’t say this is entirely enemies to lovers, but definitely opposites attract. Robbie is much more laid back compared to Skylar’s daily-weekly-monthly planner but they clicked perfectly and their chemistry was off the charts. Tess for sure hit a home run with these two.
As much as I loved this story, I felt like it lacked a little more character dynamics for the rest of the cast. Robbie was heavily invested in Skylar’s family, but Skylar briefly met his parents and BARELY met his friends which was also unfortunately his first time meeting her. We see through Robbie’s chapters that they’re a good bunch, but I would have loved to see Skylar interact with his team and also Chloe and Tallulah. I also wish we had seen more of Madden and Elton beef with Robbie. Also is Madden’s story next??? I need to see him and Eve. I definitely saw that plot point coming from MILES away bc like Robbie, I saw how amazing Skylar is and literally unless you’re in love with someone else, how do you not see her????
Thank you Avon for putting this ARC up for grabs for 24 hours. I love that this book came to me unexpectedly and I had no clue what was in store other than the trust that Tessa would deliver.

Book 4 in the Big Shot series
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Classic Tessa Bailey strikes (…. see what i did there) again.
This book centers around NHL Rookie, Robbie, aka Orgasm Donor #1 and D1 pitcher, Skylar. Typical story trope where girl has a crush on a guy that doesn’t give her the time of day and new guy comes in to help make the other guy jealous, while at the same time “teaching” her how to date. I liked Robbie and Skylar’s dynamic and how they were both are kind of goofy in their own way and played off each other.
I do have to say, my only slight gripe with the book is the relationship progressed very quickly, like almost less than a week quickly. I am a sucker for insta, but this was on the border for me on a little too fast. This also read a little bit younger than the rest of the other books in the series, probably b/c I think both characters were very early twenties compared to the other characters. But, regardless I still liked it and read it in one sitting.
I do love how Tessa continuously expands on this universe and leaves me wanting more. I now want to read about Madden, Elton, and Mailer.
Thank you Avon, NetGalley and Tessa Bailey for this ARC.
Pitcher Perfect comes out 9/9/25

This was a classic Tessa Bailey book that was bingeable and steamy. I enjoyed the fake dating and hockey/softball moments. The enemies to lovers part was pretty quick though because Robbie tuned into a simp for Skyler pretty quick but I was ok with that. I thought it was cute and had a lot of sweet moments too.

When I saw this was being offered as a “read now” early, I RAN to snatch this up and it was worth it! This book is basically perfect. It has banter. It has growth. It has smut. It has a mouthy man (in more ways than one). It has a happily ever after.
Real talk, for some reason I had not picked up a Tessa Bailey book in a while and I will not be making that mistake again! I read this SO FAST because I couldn’t put it down. Between the competitive insane family challenges and the boy saying he’d “help her learn” and thinking he wouldn’t catch feelings?! Toss in that boy is a playboy to the nth degree and basically tells our FMC in the beginning he will never reform? It’s like cat nip!
I’ll definitely be picking up the rest of this series and catching up on everything I’ve been missing from Tessa!! Massive thank you to the team at Avon for putting this up for grabs!

One million stars for this book and now I need to go re-read the others in the series. The MMC is just perfection and we love a strong, successful, emotionally mature FMC. The dialogue was sparkling. The whole book was just excellent from start to finish.

Full disclosure, I did not come into this book expecting to like it. I came into this book because it had a relation to softball and I wanted to judge it's accuracy. Somehow it both disappointed my low expectations in both that department and the general romance department but maybe that's just me.
I have lots I could say, but I'll leave it at this. Skill at baseball pitching does not translate into skill at softball pitching and vice versa and it's almost unreasonable to believe Skylar started pitching (softball style) freshman year of high school and is now an all-american.

I received an ARC of this ebook from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review. I loved book one of this series but I haven’t gotten the same feeling from any of the sequels until this one. This was both funny and spicy. The fake dating trope is a tried and true favorite. It also set up for book five, which is definitely going to be Madden and Eve’s story (although I am patiently waiting for Mailer’s story 🤞🏻).

Thanks to Avon for the ARC on NetGalley. I recently talked to my other book-loving friend about how Tessa Bailey works are a hit-or-miss, and unfortunately this is a miss for me. I never felt connected to the characters, main or secondary, and that is the basis for a work of fiction. Someone should be likable. I also believed this was falsely advertised as a baseball romance as well as a BBF (brother’s best friend) move, and I was disappointed about the latter. I also didn’t like that the MMC said some horrible and misogynistic things about women, and that was barely ,enthroned once the romance between the couple began. I understand character growth, but it wasn’t addressed in a way that worked for the story. I hope the next publication is edited better.

I love Tessa Bailey, and this is another hit out of the park for her! This book is great because both of the main characters are athletes with a competitive spirit who have to learn how to be in a relationship. I also really enjoyed reading about their close friends and family groups with lots of interesting dynamics. And as usual, the spiciness is spicy! I highly recommend this book.

I loved the continuation of this series! Skylar and Robbie were the perfect depiction of the fake dating trope. They were cute, funny, genuine, and just lovable. The banter was great and it was so easy to fall in love with these characters while getting a taste of some of our favorites from the previous books in the series.

Best read of 2025 so far!!! I sped through "Pitcher Perfect" in just 2 days, and I'm still reeling from the experience. Tessa Bailey's latest romance is a masterclass in witty banter, joyful romance, and heartfelt storytelling.
The chemistry between Robbie and Skylar is undeniable, and their romance unfolds at a deliciously slow burn pace that had me wanting more. I loved watching them navigate their differences and grow together, and their relationship feels authentic and true-to-life.
The baseball setting adds a fun and unique twist to the story. From competing in a game of hockey players vs baseball then him taking her out for OJ it left me wanting more from beginning to end. Overall, "Pitcher Perfect" is a standout romance that will capture your heart and leave you feeling all the feels.

**SPOILERS AHEAD**
This gave me the same giddy, kicking my feet feeling I got with Fangirl Down. I have loved this series with my whole heart but *especially* books 1 and 4. I loved Robbie. I love me an MMC that changes himself because he wants to be better for her. Her family was insane, but I wouldn't be surprised to meet people like that. I loved the cameos from books 1 and 2. I also liked that the hoodie joke was left behind in the other books and we only get a nudge and the cute book cover art. I wish it would've been even more bootylicious but(t), pun intended, I get all her books can't be like that so that's ok.
As an elder millennial I LOVED the HSM references. The epilogue was chef's kiss. Her big gesture was a bit out there but it was cute if irresponsible, LOL.
This review was very chaotic but I hope it shows how much fun I had. This made my whole weekend.

This book is not for me. I only got two chapters in but the arrogance of the male characters in this book was extremely off putting.

thank you to avon, netgalley, and miss bailey for the arc!!! it's like y'all just knew I couldn't wait until september for this one.
didn't love it, but tessa singlehandedly got me interested in hockey and sports romances with this series. honestly hate the trope of playboy and inexperienced girl, so i kinda knew this wouldn't exactly be my cup of tea.
a bit corny, a bit cringe, but i still ate it up in 24 hours!! tessa's books are always fun and smutty if nothing else. please see below for some of the most unhinged lines that will live with me forever:
"blow job workshop"
"college girl pussy"
"his tongue met her clit and married it"
"hitting my tight girl"
"squeezable buns"
"milking his inches"
"drenched suction of her pussy"
"this soft little pussy hurt"
and lastly...
"he gathered her panties in a fist, turning them into a thong and using the material to quickly yank her onto her toes" HE GAVE HER A WEDGIE?!!?
tessa go ahead and clock out for me lol
also the whole eve storyline was so eyeroll and strange and obviously setting up the next book for madden and eve with the tropes all laid out and everything and the book after that for reese and mailer. that being said, will i be reading those the second they come out? 1000%.

I’m a sucker for a good Tessa Bailey book. To say I was excited for this is an understatement. Thankfully the ARC gods answered because I loved every minute of Pitcher Perfect!
This book had me smiling and giggling the whole way through. As soon as we met Robbie & Skylar in the last book in the series, Dream Girl Drama, I knew their story was going to be good. So PS friends please read that book first before tackling this one. Anyway back to Robbie & Skylar. I love that they both come from sports backgrounds. Especially Skylar our MFC. I related so much to Skylar. Growing up and feeling like you’re failing because your sibling was achieving more in their sport. Then we have Robbie. I freaking love that man. He is quite literally the definition of cinnamon roll golden retriever. Him going from playboy to committed relationship man just for Skylar was 100% swoon worthy.
I also love that Tessa gave us not one but two of my favorite tropes enemies to lovers and fake dating. I usually don’t like when authors try to incorporate both. But the way Tessa incorporated it genuinely worked and made the story flow really well.
My only complaint comes from the ending. Y’all know of my hatred of the third act breakup trope. This book is no exception. I wish they had just talked it out. And the drama surrounding it felt a little rushed and unnecessary. However, even though it happened I still throughly enjoyed this book and will definitely be buying a trophy copy.
Overall, if you can’t already tell I highly recommend this book. Lastly big thank you to NetGalley & Avon for providing an arc to read and review!

Typical Tessa Bailey! Usually her books are hit or miss for me but I really enjoyed this one. This is the perfect beach read, you can definitely read it in one sitting and not be bored.

4.5 ⭐️ and rounding up to 5! Thank you to NetGalley for the Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I love the Big Shots series and was super excited to get my hands on Pitcher Perfect! I was super excited that this book was about Robbie because we got to see so much more than just the Orgasm Donor. I liked this book a lot more than Dream Girl Drama. I really liked how the characters grow and change throughout the book. I couldn’t put it down. The character development of Skylar’s family really added to the book.

Tessa Bailey fans unite!!
Softball pitcher and hockey player crossover? Say less. I read this in 24 hours. And there’s gonna be another in the series! Loved the features of past characters. Thanks Net Galley for the ARC!!
