I love all her books and I wait patiently for them. I have to say this one is one of my favs I could get into so fast and I could not put it down. These 2 people get you all ready for the sports season. The spice is there so you wont miss out if you like those kinds of books.

I'm not a big fan of the fake dating trope, but this book I enjoyed. I liked the characters. It did seem a little rushed and slightly unrealistic, but it was an easy and fun read. I do usually enjoy Tessa Bailey's books. She never really disappoints.

Thanks to NetGalley, Avon, and Tessa Bailey for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Listen, I love Tessa Bailey and this series. This book though? Maybe my favorite. There is a surprising amount of heart in here considering Robbie Corrigan our MMC has previously been seen proudly wearing an “orgasm donor” hoodie. His character arc is really endearing and realistic if a bit fast. I mean, it’s a romance book so there’s always going to be some suspension of disbelief—hello leaving for wilderness competition the week before the NHL finals? Anyway, LOVED him.
Then Skylar our FMC?? So type A and a perfect balance to Robbie. It’s honestly really refreshing that none of her quirks are made fun of by the main cast—Robbie even thinks her planner is cute. The only slight complaint I had was that she seemed a bit young compared to Robbie, but I know a lot of NHL guys don’t go to or finish college. She is a senior in college, so they might not have an age gap. No one mentions it as being weird or anything, but there are moments where she seems much younger than him…maybe just less experienced and more naive.
This was honestly just such a great love at first sight type of story where our MMC falls first and harder. I liked the fake dating storyline too. It was done really well and the conflict was realistic. I feel like a lot of times these interconnected standalone books introduce the next characters in awkward ways and this one did a pretty good job. The drama with her family was done really well too. There was some heavy stuff done delicately in this book. Honestly, all of the conflict was handled well. I did not expect to cry as much as I did, especially considering our first impression of Robbie. Just saying.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
Genre: Sports Romance
Descriptors: Sports, Hockey, Softball, Banter, Family, Fake dating.
Spice: Oh yes
Standalone: yes and no. This is #4 of the "Big Shots" series. I have not read Book 1-3 and did not feel like I was missing anything.
Would I recommend: Yes. If you are looking for a quick paced, saucy sports themed read.

It was such a cute story, but I feel like the falling in love part was too unrealistic that he loved her within a week? Loved the characters though, Robbie really had a great redemption arc from playboy to boyfriend. I think it just needed a bit more, but overall really liked it. 3.5 stars (if I could give half stars).

Thanks to Avon and Netgalley for this review copy. This is my honest review.
I was skeptical of the fake dating and love coach scenario but I am always down for trying to make a crush jealous. The turnaround of the playboy hero was quick and drastic but also felt realistic of someone losing their way and needed a rejection to be pushed toward the right direction. They both started the relationship from the misguided place but through a week grueling family trials, they found each other in the middle. It was a touching story of support and open vulnerability.
As always Tessa Bailey books are super hot and the spice is on my level of pumping it home. In a drastically not Bailey fashion, there is no butt stuff?!?! Outrageous!
I will say I did not care for the side characters plot set up for the next book. Will I read it? Sure but it felt like it came out of the left field and was jarring in this otherwise complete story.

I loved that parts of Dream Girl Drama are mixed in with this story because I loved that book but this book….has my heart.
Robbie and Skylar feel unlikely and yet they become inevitable. I love that Robbie became a safe place for Skylar and helped her to have a voice. Her whole life she’s felt overlooked except when it came to Robbie, he noticed ONLY her.
I loved this quirky but super fun series. Book are a place to escape and I love that Tessa’s books give me a safe place to land each and every time!

Any romance that starts out with the fmc saying “fuck you” to the mmc IMMEDIATELY will get you hooked. I read this book in only two sittings and I LOVED every second of it.

After reading about Robbie in the last two books - I didn’t expect to end up loving his character as much as I did. But here goes Bailey proving me dead wrong.
This book was absolute perfection with both its enemies to lovers and fake dating tropes. I adored Skylar and how she just couldn’t help but be drawn to this insanely hot hockey player who immediately saw right through her.
Robbie was so sweet with all of his little things he did to make her happy and standing up for her when no one else did. I was clapping and kicking my feet like a manic when I was reading this.
The SPICE was also SPICIN. Bailey gives her MMCs the perfect amount of dirty talk and them being vulnerable for only the one they are falling for and I am HERE for it.
I LOVED this book and highly recommend it to those who have loved this series so far. Burgess is still my favorite story but I have to say Robbie is definitely coming in second.
🩷 Big thanks to Avon, Tessa Bailey and NetGalley for an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for this Arc.
I had fun reading this… at moments. Some pieces took away from what I did enjoy. I felt there were things thrown into this book for the trope of it all, and had no value. The conflict between the two main characters was valid but I almost wish it was talked about more. I felt the resolution came quickly and with no serious conversation had over it. Just grand gestures to make up for the lack of trust? Also I didn’t like his teammates and how they were depicted. There was a scene they were in with their girlfriends (which I think they are from earlier in the series?) that just rubbed me the wrong way. It was too overprotective overbearing man child and not cute… at all.
I picked up this book because I liked a few of Tessa Bailey’s books in the past, and I used to be a softball pitcher. I loved reading about a FMC who played the game, but was also seen as a TomBoy because you really don’t see that often and allowed for me to relate to her more.
But I am not interested in reading the other books in this series, which is unfortunate because the concept of this book really got me excited.

I absolutely love Tessa Bailey and this book did an amazing job within the Big Shots series. I did not expect to fall in love with Robbie as much as I did. I also loved the Page Games and the family dynamic when Robbie was introduced as Skylar’s boyfriend after getting punched by her brother.
I literally laughed out loud and verbally “awed” at some of the context.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Avon Publishing for this ARC.

I got an ARC of this during the one day NetGalley drop of it! I’m a sucker for this Tessa series with the sports guys, particular the hockey fellows. Honestly, a solid Tessa, but not my fav of hers! I liked the storyline around the competitive family. I also really liked the other guys weighing in and giving advice here or there. I’m very excited to see Mailer and the manager’s book!!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Pitcher Perfect follows Robbie who was “organism donor #1” and a rookie on the Bearcats in the previous two books about Sig and Burgess. He’s the classic goofball takes-nothing-seriously kind of side character and I was curious to see how his story would pan out. In comes, Skylar who is a softball player with a seriously lingering childhood crush on her brother’s best friend. Robbie and Skylar decide to fake date to make her crush jealous and obviously they fall in love.
I really enjoyed Robbie and Skylar’s story and how they learned to trust each other. I’m always a big fan of fake dating but with the added twist of dating through ab annual family competition it was even more enjoyable. The competition made for a great way for the characters to learn more about each other and trust each other in different ways.
As a fellow, planner filler and list maker Skylar was really relatable and also likable. Her position in her family and her relationship to them was also something that resonated with me. They were really central parts to her character but it didn’t feel over played.
Overall, a fun and quick read for anyone who likes women in sports (who doesn’t) and fake dating. And to be honest, this was the least shocking (?) one of the series lol.

I couldn’t really get into this book. Just was not for me. I love attention grabbers and this wasn’t one of them sadly

I am an admittedly big fan of this author’s books. They are fun spicy, but still have enough meat to them where you care about the characters. Sometimes they can feel a little bit repetitive, but really it doesn’t matter very much in the face of all the other good qualities of the book.In this story we meet Skyler, who is a softball pitching freedom. Who feels unappreciated unrecognized by her family. Then we meet Robbie, who is getting his NHL career and be able to bag any woman he wants. However, they all comes to a screeching hall when he realizes that the one woman he wants is Skyler, but unfortunately, she’s interested in another man. Thus begins their fake romance to try to make the other man notice her but we all know what happens along the way. I read this in a day so it’s definitely an engaging read

4.5 stars! It was a little slow to start, but in the end, delivered the HEA that Tessa Bailey always delivers. Definitely a great summer read.
I receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This Tessa book was cute! Loved Robbie and Skyler’s story just not a huge fan of the miscommunication trope.

This was such a good read! Robbie and Skyler have captured my heart and refuse to give it back. I laughed and cried with them and so many other emotions. They understand each other on a level that no one else really done, support each other in everything they do, and love each other silly.

Thank you to Harper Collin’s for a chance to read this highly anticipated upcoming release from best selling author Tessa Bailey!
We’ve known Robbie Corrigan as part of the dynamic duo, “the orgasm donors,” since book 2 in this series. I’ll be honest and say I was surprised when I learned that pitcher perfect was going to be his book.
I think Pitcher perfect was a home run. I truly enjoyed the banter and flirting between Robbie and his “rocket.” ;) We do get to see some scenes with some of our other favorite couples within this series, which is always a joy!
If you love sports romance, a powerhouse of a FMC, and a “bad boy” turned down bad, this book is for you!

ARC REVIEW:
I really enjoyed this installment from the Big Shots series, probably my second favorite after Fangirl Down! It was a little cheesy at some parts but I loved the way the MMC made sure to show up for the FMC and support her in a way she hadn’t felt before. Super cute and I loved the teasers for the next (last?) installment

I fell over laughing while reading this book. (not really but you get the picture) It was absolutely hilarious.
That being said, if you are a huge hockey fan or cannot let some definitely not normal professional hockey things go, you won't like it. It's also a little insta-lovey. However, if you can have suspension of disbelief, it's an amazing read!
I loved Skylar. LOVED how she called Robbie on his bull from the start and made him really look in on himself. Loved that she was also an amazing athlete (girls can be the athletic MC too!!) who kicked booty on the softball field.
Robbie was a hoot and a half. He was constantly making me laugh and an amazing contrast to Skylar. I loved that he softened her personality but didn't overshadow her. And the way he fought for her - YES PLEASE.
I will add my review to retail websites closer to release day! Thank you so much for an early copy!
