I had so much fun with this one! We follow Skylar, a collegiate softball pitcher, and Robbie, a playboy pro hockey player. In true Tessa Bailey fashion, Robbie is down bad for Skylar as soon as they meet and spends the rest of the book proving it. Skylar has always crushed on her brother’s best friend, and uses Robbie as a fake boyfriend to get noticed. Naturally, after spending so much time together, Skylar realizes her crush is misplaced. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a laugh-out-loud funny and steamy sports romance with fake dating, relationship coaching, reformed rake, and forced proximity tropes.

2.5 stars. It was charming at parts, I guess. But I’m sorry the characters meet with her overhearing him brag about last nights conquest… and if my math is correct, just 13 days later they say I love you?? And that includes four days of not speaking due to the third act break up. Sadly I could not suspend disbelief. Fan Girl Down is one of my favorite of Tessa Bailey’s, I am sad that the rest of the series hasn’t lived up to it.
Thank you to HarperCollins and Net Galley for this complimentary eArc i. exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Tessa Bailey book and im now going back to read her other books. If you are into tropes with sports, fake dating, and HEA you will love this. I enjoy that the 3rd act conflict not being too dramatic as some make them to be. I would recommend this!

I received an advanced reader's copy of Pitcher Perfect, and it was amazing! Tessa Bailey never fails to make me giggle with her sharp dialogue and swoony, chaotic characters. This book was the perfect mix of flirty, heartfelt, and fun. The chemistry between the leads was on point, and I loved every minute of their banter. I can't wait for the next Tessa Bailey book she always delivers!

This is a quintessential Tessa Bailey book. It's cheesy, dirty, predictable and you absolutely won't be able to out it down. Seriously, I have enjoyed her books for many years and find it fitting that every new book has the same level of cheese and smut as before. Can't wait for the next one.. and they next 10!
Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey is perfection and dare I say, my favorite thus far? It's addictive and fun!
I loved her sport romance series so when I saw she would be adding another book to the series I was thrilled and it did not disappoint. I love a good sport romances and I liked how she mixed hockey and softball and made them both athlete and then we throw in spicy lessons and a playboy that gets brought to his knees and he's down bad obsessed? Oh I love him. It was so fun, flirty and full of banter. Their dynamic was so tension filled and playful that keeps you giddy the entire time and the mouth on that man? Oh Tessa Bailey knows how to write spice that will have you blushing. I love how they made each other better and balance each other and how they want to be better, especially the way he knows she's it for him and doesn't just say it but proves it to her and I also loved seeing familiar faces again. its such a fun swoony book and a must read!

I swore I wasn’t going to read the follow up to dream girl drama because that book was one of the worst I’ve read in a while. HOWEVER. As a former college softball player, i HAD to read this. HAD TO. Books are never written about female softball players. And this was perfect. Totally worth it. Softball player, fake dating and a hot as sin professional hockey player? Yes, yes and more yes. Skylar and Robbie were legit perfection and their chemistry was 🔥🔥🔥 seriously, such and easy read. I flew through this and loved every second.

Man I love Tessa Bailey books. They’re just so feel good and spicy and this one was no exception.
I loved the banter and the build up in this book and I definitely think it holds up in this series of books. I think sometimes as the series goes on with some romances that the books get weaker but this one was great and very entertaining.
Definitely liked the fact that the 3rd act break up really wasn’t a break up at all. It was resolved pretty quickly and without a lot of fuss which I appreciate.
The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the characters I felt kind of lost their personalities after they started dating which isn’t a huge problem I just found myself being pulled out of book because they became somewhat generic.
I would still absolutely recommend this book and really enjoyed reading it!

Okay so I was able to get the uncorrected E-proof early. While I did throughly enjoy this book and thought it was another great book in the Big Shots series. There were a few things I feel could use some workshopping. For instance, I could kind of pick up the vibe that Madden liked Eve but I didn’t get enough back story or Eve and it felt like I was jumping halfway through a story. I also feel like we need more detail on the friendship between the Orgasm Donors. I am aware this book was setup to tell Mailer and Reese’s story next book but it almost felt like Eve and Madden are set up to get their own book? I don’t know. Also I would just love more back story on smaller details like Robbie’s Grandfather, Skylar and Elton’s relationship amongst other things. Overall it was a cute story and I enjoyed the character development.

3.5! As always, Tessa Bailey writes a man fully obsessed with a woman he just met, and I had to eat it up. This one was a cute continuation of the sports romance series she had been writing, and I’m glad we got to see some depth from the rookies! My only complaint is that it felt too short, which led to not a lot of time to develop their relationship as much, but I still enjoyed myself!

This was not my favorite in the series. There's some sweet moments, but I wasn't all that invested in either of the characters or tropes in this one. I like that they were both sporty and had that in common. I also like that we see returning characters from prior books in the series!

We first met Skylar in Dream Girl Drama, where she’s a no-nonsense, type-A softball pitcher at BU, constantly overshadowed by her family of Brown alumni. Skylar is fiercely independent and definitely not someone you’d expect to fall for the cocky, playboy, NHL rookie, Robbie Corrigan, but fate has other plans when Robbie steps in to be her teammate for the family’s weeklong wilderness competition.
Robbie definitely doesn’t make the best first impression. His player reputation precedes him, and Skylar is not impressed. But what starts as a fake-dating situation (to help make her crush jealous, naturally) soon transforms into something a little more complicated. Robbie spends the rest of the book trying to redeem himself, and honestly? It’s everything. Watching him evolve from a cocky, self-centered player to a gentleman who genuinely wants to prove himself to Skylar? Swoon.
Now, let’s talk about the pace—Pitcher Perfect is fast. Skylar and Robbie go from strangers to a full-on fake couple quickly, and while it had a bit of that insta-love vibe that’s not my personal favorite, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed their connection. The fake dating trope is on point, and for anyone who’s a sucker for it, you’re going to love this. There’s just the right amount of tension and sweet moments that make you want to keep turning the pages.
I absolutely adored Skylar. She’s such a strong heroine—determined, independent, and with a heart of gold. Her journey throughout the book is so satisfying, especially as she learns to open up and trust Robbie. I was rooting for her the entire time. Robbie, though? He’s such a surprise. His transformation over the course of the story is a joy to watch, and his willingness to change and support Skylar made me melt. The real romance doesn’t really kick in until later in the book, but once it does, it hits hard.
The family wilderness competition adds a fun, lighthearted dynamic, giving the book serious spring/summer vibes—plus, it’s the perfect backdrop for forced proximity and growing chemistry.
Pitcher Perfect was an absolute blast and I loved getting to experience it! This book is a must-read for fans of fake dating, sports romance, and slow-burn chemistry!

This might be my favorite in the Big Shots series -never anticipated that in the lead up to this one, but Robbie was fun.

This is a classic Tessa Bailey book, with larger than life characters, classic tropes, and plenty of spice. Girlboss pitcher meets f-boy hockey player, they fake date, and hijinks ensue. I quite enjoyed reading this, although it wasn't my favorite of her books. I felt as if there was slightly less plot than some of her other novels.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and publisher for the ARC!

I loved every minute of it, Tessa Bailey writes the best heroes! Readers who love a guy that falls first, and experiences emotional growth along the way, will be swooning hard for Robbie. Between Skylar and Robbie's bantering, and the teammate and family shenanigans, I had a constant smile on my face as I read this one. Highly recommend to readers looking for a fun story with all the feels!

This was a fun jump into the life of a female athlete - in terms of how it can be so different than a male, and even what things (like relationships) can be missed along the way. I love a good brothers best friend romance, but this one may have built off of that as the premise but had its own twist and moves that made it much different. The friendship-enemyship-relationship between Robbie and Skylar was entertaining and romantic. Their banter and chemistry was obvious - and it was super fun to read!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review. I'm thinking it's time for me to put TB on pause. The sexy times are just...written so oddly. I put this down once the two leads finally got together, third base action and it was described as a mouth marrying another body part (rhymes with Dolores), and I was like, nope. I'm good.

This book was excellent - I read it in less than 2 days and truly couldn’t stop. Skylar was a love-able perfectionist and Robbie was a sweet reformed playboy. The tropes were executed perfectly, so fun and great for the story. I worried the ending would resolve a little too simply, but enjoyed the way everything ended. Looking forward to reading more of these!

Tessa Bailey books just make me smile! Thank you to the publisher for this ARC🫶🏻
After the hilarious interactions between the baseball team and the Bearcats in the last book Dream Girl Drama, I was so excited to see how the rivalry continues! Skylar’s brother calls her to come pitch for a rivalry game against the Bearcats. When she meets the playboy Robbie Corrigan, she can’t stand him. But he knows he wants her.
When he finds out she’s always been in love with her brother’s best friend, he offers to fake date her to make him jealous. She has a list of things she wants him to teach her like dates and spicy times! Skylar has a family competition and brings Robbie! He’s so gone for her and proud! He stands up for her and brags about her college pitching.
Robbie definitely falls first, but when they finally admit they aren’t faking, she falls just as hard! Robbie was a red headed golden retriever! I loved this one, the longing, the spice, the competitive spirit!
I’m soooo ready for more Big Shots! ⚾️🏒

This (stand alone) addition to the series is tugging at my heart strings. I love d the characters and the storyline. Very heartfelt, romantic, and fun.
