As an avid romance reader and a former softball pitcher—I loveddd this book! Imagine there was a fake dating scenario plopped into Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (I’m trying to picture Tom Welling as a ginger) and that is the vibes of this book.

Skylar is a senior collegiate pitcher and somewhat isolated on and off the field. I found her super relatable with having all the confidence in her physical capabilities as an athlete, but in her personal life dealing with self doubt. The absolute collision of personalities with her and Robbie was fun to experience. Robbie has a doozy of an intro, but please give this man a minute to grow! He’s such a himbo with a heart of gold. He’s so decisive with his desire for her and gives her the time to figure her own feelings out.

Read If You Like-
– Fake Dating
– Opposites Attract
– Tomboy FMC
– Playboy to Loverboy MMC
– Semi-Dysfunctional Competitive Family
– Meet Hate Cute
– Planner Girlie (She’s got a list! 😜)
– Dirty Talk

My only critique of this book was that some of the B characters storylines were a little too prominent for me. Madden was almost too tempting against Robbie in the beginning!! Broody with an accent and he was her catcher..!

When I tell you I ate this book up I mean i finished it in less than 2 days with my busy schedule and absolutely loved it!! I mean you get the fake dating, only one bed, trying to make someone jealous, and grand gestures!!! And it’s a hockey romance with a women in sports too!! I mean this was just such an amazing book and I am so grateful to have seen this ARC was available before it went to request only because I don’t think I could have waited any longer to read this book!! I also can’t wait for the next in the series… marriage of convenience?!?!??

This book was a genuine joy to read. I’ve read the other Big Shots books and loved them, but was a little skeptical to see Robbie as the MMC. Despite being uncertain of how it would play out, he ended up arguably being my favorite guy of the series. His development as a character was so well-done. The chemistry and banter between him and Skylar had me laughing out loud and giggling from the very beginning. Also, as a planner girl, I really appreciate the nods to Skylar’s planner and how well it fits into her character and personality. I’m so excited to acquire a physical copy to go with the others but really can’t get over how much fun I had reading this over the past 24 hours.

This book has the Tessa Bailey magic! How she can turn around a fairly dislikeable character into a hero is beyond me, but she has! I love Skyler, she’s such a relatable character. I also loved seeing the other characters from this series make an appearance. Delightful read, 5/5.

I really enjoyed this one. Any book by Tessa Bailey is an instant read for me. The way she writes her characters and their banter is always so fun to read. I rarely laugh out loud when I read, but with her books it's always a sure thing.

Even though this was the fourth in the Big Shots series, the story still was fresh and engaging. The dynamic between Skylar and Robbie was unique as was their central conflict.

The spice scenes were also unique to the couple. That is something I also appreciate from Tessa Bailey. The intimacy between the characters is always unique to them and every scene is different.

Great book! Thank you for letting me read it early.

I have certain expectations for a Tessa Bailey romance—fantastic internal monologue ridden with dirty talk, entertainment, and of course a HEA. Pitcher Perfect doesn’t disappoint.

Robbie Corrigan is a relentless bachelor and rookie hockey player. Skyler Page is an under appreciated collegiate pitcher—their meet cute is her swearing at him while pitching a pick up game arranged by her baseball player brother against Robbie’s NHL team—but intrigued by the only woman who wouldn’t give him the time of day, Robbie tricks her into coffee with him, and they agree to fake date for her uber competitive annual family reunion…

I’ll admit I was skeptical going in—I loved the first two in the Big Shots series, the third wasn’t my favorite, and I think for those of us reading the first three—how can one of the “Orgasm Donor” duo have their own book?

But it works. He’s a golden retriever and she’s a game changer. My only complaint is as a hockey romance lover—minimal hockey here. And of course many of the plot points are unbelievable—but you came here to for a break from reality?

Will continue to read every release from Tessa, the queen of dirty talk reigns supreme.

A 24-hour read, easily. I tore through it. Absolutely adorable. One of the best yet from Tessa Bailey.

What to expect from Pitcher Perfect:
🥎Softball Player x Hockey Player
🏒Fake Dating
🥎”Teach me”
🏒 He falls first and hard
🥎She calls him on his sh*t
🏒He builds her up
❤️HEA

I found Pitcher Perfect to be a satisfying albeit average read. I got exactly what I thought I would going into the book. No let downs but nothing that blew me away either which led to my 3 ⭐️rating. Some sweet moments and solid spicy scenes but also some characters that fell a little flat. (Maybe because there were a few too many secondary characters? I’m unsure.) This was my first Tessa Bailey read and it was definitely a cute sports romance. It just didn’t blow me away. It is the 4th book in the Bailey’s Fan Girl Down universe, however I was able to read it as a stand alone with no issues. If someone is already a fan of that series, I’m sure they will find this new entry into the universe a satisfying one. I could definitely see myself picking up the previous books or a future book in the series at some point for an easy, enjoyable, and quick read.

I loved this installment of Bailey’s athletes series! It was a pleasant surprise after Dream Girl Drama, which I did not enjoy at all. Robbie is endearing and Skylar relatable. I especially appreciated that there was no manufactured conflict, just normal(ish) relationship challenges. Looking forward to Eve’s book next!

I have really enjoyed The Big Shots series and Pitcher Perfect is no exception- every book keeps getting better! I love a good girl and a reformed player and you get that in spades in this book!

Skylar is a softball pitcher at Boston University and a perfectionist who doesn't feel in sync with her family because she didn't get into Brown. She also feels isolated from people, even her teammates because of the nature of being a pitcher. Robbie is a rookie professional hockey player who laughs everything off and is taking advantage of his freedom playing the field.

I loved these two and it was so fun to watch Robbie fully commit to Skylar despite his past. It was also refreshing for Skylar to find support and security in Robbie when she had been so independent and felt isolated.

Highly recommend if you want a fun fake dating romance between two high level athletes! Can't wait for the next in the Big Shots series- my guess is it will be Madden and Eve!

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for this ARC!

Tessa Bailey throws a no-hitter with this one. OMG!!! A female athlete who is feisty, smart, and still feels like she’s not enough meets a bad-boy NHL rookie red-head who… knows how to push all her buttons and can’t get enough. Fake dating, he falls first, dirty talk and HEA. Count me in to read anything she writes. 6/5 stars

This book was a lot of fun! I go into Tessa Bailey books expecting fun banter, lighthearted stories, and good spice, and that’s what we get here! The characters were fun and a sports romance is always a good time.

This was an AMAZING read! I fell in love with Robbie and Skylar. They were truly soulmates. I could not put this book down! Definitely a spicy read! I loved that Robbie fell first. And that he softened Skylar while also building her trust and confidence. This was one of Tessa best books! I wish had seen more of Robbie’s family.

I love this new series so much. Everything is simply just a delight - and I love how TB keeps introducing new ideas for future books so I’m already anxious to read the next one. Robbie was a delight in this and some parts were more romantic than I expected!

this Tessa Bailey series has just been so entertaining! I've eaten them each up and this one had some really cool athlete dating athlete themes that you don't see a lot of. also, I loved that Robbie wasn't perfect in the beginning, but that meeting Skylar helped him realize things about himself that he wanted to change. it was nice that he didn't change for her, per say, but being with her made him want to be the best version of himself. there were so many hilarious moments, and the chemistry between them was perfect. overall, loved it!

Not my favorite book by Tessa, but not the worst either. While I did enjoy the smut and some of the cutesy banter, something about Tessa’s writing just hasn’t hit in a long time. Take me back to the genius of It Happened One Summer and My Killer Vacation.

Hi yes it’s possible that this is the best book that Tessa Bailey has ever written. And it’s ROBBIE CORRIGAN?! ARE YOU JOKING?! I am in love with this perfect, simpy, silly, endearing man. He is golden retriever personified. I am in awe of Tessa’s ability to take a momentary side character and give him a story line that I will shout from the rooftops. This series gets better and better with every book and I am sat for it.

This is officially my favorite book in the series! Robbie and Skylar are such fun characters. It had the perfect amount of scenes with some of our beloved hockey players while still being its own standalone story. Can’t wait for Mailer’s love story next!!

This unfortunately did not meet my expectations. This didn't feel like enemies to lovers AT ALL. Robbie was in love with Skylar the moment he saw her and he was her 'enemy' for all but less than 45 pages. It all felt like a push and pull when it wasn't really necessary and them falling for eachother over the span of a week seemed pretty unrealistic.

This was a fun read, I just had higher expectations.
