I never get tired of Tessa baileys writing. I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole book. I loved seeing the more serious side to Robbie and loved how Skylar put him in his place

This was a really enjoyable read. I really loved Robbie and Skylar and Robbie, and Robbie, oh and did I mention I loved Robbie??
I literally don’t know why but he has stolen every part of my soul.(my poor husband)
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve adored much of this series so I was definitely looking forward to this.
Skylar is in long time love with her stepbrother’s best friend who doesn’t view her as anything other than his friend’s little sister.
Enter Robbie, one of the players (in more ways than one) from previous books in the series who wears the o donor shirt and is also a rookie hockey player.
Fake dating commences and in almost no time at all, Skylar stops thinking about anyone other than Robbie.
It’s instalove, and he falls first. She’s obsessed with planners, he’s obsessed with her.
Secondary characters felt thin in this one, and I really didn’t like how Robbie’s character evolution didn’t include an ephiphany on how to treat women other than Skylar.
I look forward to reading future books by Ms Bailey, but this one wasn’t for me.
Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the DRC

I absolutely loved this book! It took me a little bit to get all the characters straight at first, but once I did, I couldn’t stop reading. The enemies-to-friends dynamic was done so well—filled with tension, banter, and just the right amount of heart. I also really enjoyed the layered family dynamics, which added depth and warmth to the story.
What I didn’t realize going in was that this is part of a series—and now I have to go back and read the first three books! Tessa Bailey has such a talent for creating vivid characters and emotional connections. This one hit all the right notes for me.
Highly recommend to fans of small-town romance, found family vibes, and those deliciously slow-burn relationships!

Tessa just keeps killing it with this sports romance series. I love a sweet MMC and love seeing Tessa represent women and their interest in sports. I loved the glimpses of the side characters in this one and the combination of side characters and family dynamics made this one extra fun. This is a perfect quick paced romance read for a rainy Sunday, beach day, or anything in between.

Whatever you thought you knew about Robbie Corrigan from the previous books in Tessa Bailey’s Big Shots series… throw it all out the window. In Pitcher Perfect, Robbie Corrigan is this unexpectedly super sweet man who falls head over heels in love with Skylar Page, a softball pitcher and sister of Robbie’s baseball rival, Elton. We get to witness who we knew as a rather immature playboy grow up in real time. He’s smitten with Skylar from the moment he lays eyes on her, and despite her resistance, they have a connection from the start. The two of them have an innate ability to see each other for who they truly are, seemingly without any effort.
I didn’t enjoy the 3rd act breakup. Do I understand why it happened? Yes. Was it necessary for the plot? Yes, probably. Still hate 3rd act breakups.

A Five-Star Sports Romance That Scores Big on Heart, Heat, and Humor
Tessa Bailey’s Pitcher Perfect is a grand slam of a romance novel—equal parts steamy, funny, and heartfelt. With her signature blend of laugh-out-loud banter and emotional depth, Bailey crafts a story that will charm fans of enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, and found family tropes from page one to the last pitch.
At the heart of the story is Robbie Corrigan, a rookie NHL player whose life seems pretty perfect: he’s just made it to the pros, has a reputation as a charming “orgasm donor,” and enjoys the attention that comes with it. That is, until he meets Skylar Paige—a no-nonsense softball pitcher who sees right through his player persona. Skylar is laser-focused, highly organized (with actual itineraries for her personal goals!), and completely uninterested in being another name on Robbie’s long list of flings.
The tension between Skylar and Robbie is electric from the start. Their initial interactions are full of witty, fast-paced dialogue and that delicious friction that only great enemies-to-lovers stories can deliver. But Bailey doesn’t stop at the surface-level tension. As the two are thrown together in a fake relationship—complete with a wilderness competition and Skylar’s not-so-secret crush on someone else—they begin to peel back each other’s emotional layers. What starts as a favor turns into something deeper, something real, and watching them slowly come to terms with their feelings is immensely satisfying.
One of the standout aspects of this novel is the emotional growth both characters undergo. Robbie is more than just a flirtatious hockey star; beneath his charm is someone deeply loyal, protective, and yearning for something real. Skylar, too, has to navigate what she really wants in a relationship, and her journey is equally compelling. Bailey handles their individual arcs with tenderness, humor, and just the right amount of angst.
And then there’s the spice—Pitcher Perfect delivers. The intimacy between Skylar and Robbie is not just physically charged but emotionally resonant. Every steamy moment is layered with meaning, vulnerability, and care, making their connection feel incredibly genuine.
The supporting cast only adds to the story’s appeal. From the chaos of the family wilderness competition to the cameos by characters from the previous books in the series, there’s a sense of community and warmth that deepens the reading experience. Robbie’s friendships, Skylar’s family, and even the unexpected appearances from familiar faces all make the world feel rich and lived in.
In the end, Pitcher Perfect is a romance that delivers on every front: it’s funny, flirty, deeply emotional, and thoroughly enjoyable. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Tessa Bailey or new to her work, this book will remind you why she’s a standout in the contemporary romance genre.
If you’re looking for a sports romance that brings the heat while also tugging at your heartstrings, Pitcher Perfect is a must-read.

Pitcher Perfect
By Tessa Bailey
Robbie Corrigan is a rookie for the Boston Bearcats professional hockey team, famous for his charm, cocky grin, and a reputation as a total playboy. But everything changes when a heated game of pickup baseball quite literally pitches Skylar Page into his life. When Skylar overhears the details of Robbie’s latest bedroom escapade, he’s desperate to win back her good opinion. She’s not like the other girls, she’s a challenge he’s never faced before.
Skylar has spent years pining after her childhood neighbor, the one she’s convinced is her forever person. But with her best friend Eve unable to attend this year’s Page Stakes, a quirky and competitive family tradition, Skylar needs a stand-in. Enter Robbie, with an offer that’s hard to refuse: he’ll be her teammate, and together they’ll make her long-time crush finally notice her.
But what starts as a playful ruse quickly turns into something deeper. Robbie must confront his bachelor lifestyle, and Skylar has to decide if she’s brave enough to trust someone new with her heart.
I gave Pitcher Perfect ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars). It’s everything readers love about a Tessa Bailey romance—snappy banter, sizzling tension, and a hero who falls hard. The pacing felt a bit rushed at times, but the emotional beats still landed beautifully. Robbie and Skylar’s chemistry was undeniable, and their journey was equal parts heartwarming and fun.
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for the chance to read an early copy of Pitcher Perfect.

thx netgalley for the ARC!!! i read this in a day, honestly tessa bailey can do no wrong in my eyes. i knew i was going into something silly and spicy and for that, it didnt disappoint. id read truly anything she writes and enjoy it

If you’re looking for a low-stakes, quick and steamy read- then this is Pitcher is probably Perfect.
I think this falls in line with every other Tessa Bailey book I’ve read. It’s cute, totally fine, and serviceable. Not outstanding, but I’m not mad about it. Will I remember the tales of Robbie and Skylar? Probably not. Was the sex well written? Yes, yes it was. (When not going off the rails, I think TB’s smut is pretty much unmatched.) Were the relationship dynamics unnecessarily messy? Ohh, indubitably. This is my fourth Tessa book, and every single one suffers from the same issue. Too many tropes/ideas. By the end, I always wish just one plot point had been done REALLY well.

"Pitcher Perfect" by Tessa Bailey was a feel good story about finding yourself.
Skyler has a crush on a childhood friend but she doesn't know how to best approach him. When her brother makes her pitch a baseball game against hockey players she meets Robbie. Robbie agrees to help her figure out how to approach the friend. As Robbie and Skyler spend more time together Skyler finds out that she might have a crush on someone new. Robbie learns how to be stronger and stand up for someone.
This book was a great read, and I highly recommend.

I know I can always count on Tessa Bailey to write a book that makes me sweat and this is no exception! Skylar and Robbie are mind-meltingly hot and I loved every single second of it.
Also the way Tessa writes a down bad mmc?? I swear she writes them just for me.

Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey (Publication Date: September 9, 2025):
Tessa Bailey hits another home run with Pitcher Perfect! I’ve been invested in this series since book one, and I couldn’t wait to finally get Robbie’s story. He’s been a standout side character, and it was so fun getting to see his personality fully shine—he’s hilarious, charming, and surprisingly sweet.
Skylar is a perfect counterpart: bold, grounded, and totally unimpressed by Robbie’s playboy reputation. I loved her mix of confidence and insecurity—it made her feel incredibly real. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic had just the right amount of tension, and the fake dating twist during the wilderness competition added both humor and heart.
Bailey’s signature banter, steamy chemistry, and lovable side characters make this a must-read for sports romance fans. You get a deeper look at characters from previous books, making the whole series feel more complete. I devoured it in two days and was smiling the entire time.
Thanks to Avon and NetGalley for the early read!

4.25 🌟 I am obsessed with Robbie and Skylar!!! I really wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about one of the orgasm donors having his own book but boy am I glad he did! Tessa does reformed playboy so well!
Robbie is the golden retriever boyfriend we all want. As soon as he decides he wants Skylar he’s all in! He’s willing to put in the work and prove to her he can be the boyfriend she needs. Skylar reminded me so much of myself. Unlucky in love, stuck in a requited love that she can’t move on from. That is until she meets Robbie and he turns everything she knows around! Theirs is a whirlwind romance but one that’s sweet and full of smut! Plus I’m obsessed with their mutual love for High School Musical!

How does an Orgasm Donor sweatshirt wearing himbo turn into a sensitive, intuitive, sincere, delight of an MMC? I kind of cringed when I saw who was getting the next book in the Big Shots series, but this story really got me in my feelings.
I love how Robbie was able to really SEE Skylar for who she is and what she needed to feel safe and secure. It's a Tessa Bailey book so you know the spice is hot, but the tenderness and relationship building is in there too.
Pitcher Perfect was a delight to read and I'm grateful to Netgalley for the ARC.

Finished up Pitcher Perfect this morning and my gosh did I love it!! Skylar & Robbie were hysterical and we know I’m a sucker for fake dating & flirting lessons ❤️🔥 highly recommend adding to your tbr

Pitcher Perfect was such a fun read. Some of my favorite tropes are enemies to lovers and fake dating, and Tessa Bailey definitely delivered on them! The chemistry between Robbie and Skyler was excellent. The ending wrapped up beautifully. I have not yet read the books 1-3 of her Big Shots series, but I will absolutely be picking them up- 5 stars, if you are on the fence about reading Pitcher Perfect, jump in now!
Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC via NetGalley. It is very appreciated!

Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey is the 4th book in her Big Shots Series, but it can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read any of the other books and had no problems enjoying it or the other characters from the previous books.
Skyler is just trying to catch up on some rest on a weekend morning when her brother, a baseball player who needs a pitcher for a game against some NHL rivals calls her. She reluctantly agrees to pitch, but while walking into the game she overhears one of the NHL players talking about his previous nights activities with the ladies. Their first interaction is her mouthing cursing words to him. He's instantly smitten.
Robbie Corrigan is a red-headed hot shot for the Boston Bearcats and his ego is as outrageous as his talent. He makes a bet with Skylar and wins (albeit not entirely fairly) and their relationship goes from there. While on their date (his boon for winning the bet) he overhears her on the phone with her best friend who has to cancel her trip and partnership for Skylar's families annual games, he volunteers. She reluctantly agrees for him to be her partner and their relationship really begins.
I really liked how Robbie immediately got bristled by her families constant reminder that she didn't make it into their college, Brown, and looked down on her (even though they didn't realize it) for going to Boston University - even though it's a terrific school. Robbie also saves Skylar, makes them realize what they're doing to her and is all about being her champion.
This was a good book, and although it was pretty easy to figure out most of the plot points ahead of time, it didn't deter from my enjoyment of it. I'm going to go read the others in the series, because I liked their characters and want to know their stories now.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in consideration of an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Robbie & Skyler are the best. I love how he falls first. And he certainly does from the very first moment she says “F*%k You” to him.
They don’t exactly get off on the right foot but due to a little bed they end up on a coffee date which turns into him agreeing to be her fake boyfriend for her family’s spring break competition to make her brothers best friend jealous. She lives her life by her planner and it’s adorable.
This series is so much fun and this has been one of my favorite books in it so far!

Tessa Bailey’s Pitcher Perfect is a fizzy, flirtatious steamy romance filled with charm, second chances, and some of the best banter I’ve read in a while.
At the heart of the novel is Skylar, a fiercely independent heroine with a sharp tongue and a soft heart. She’s caught in a complicated emotional tug-of-war: Robbie, the sweet and secretly smitten golden retriever type who falls for her first—and hard—versus Madden, her brother’s best friend and longtime crush, who she can't seem to let go.
The dynamic between Skylar and Robbie absolutely steals the show. Their banter is witty, heartfelt, and often laugh-out-loud funny. Robbie’s devotion and vulnerability contrast beautifully with Skylar’s guarded sass, and watching him pine while she wrestles with her feelings is both painful and addictive. It’s the classic “he falls first” trope done with nuance and heart.
Pitcher Perfect is easily one of my favorite books in the series.
