I am a sucker for second chance romances. This is filled with quirky one liners, (like about looking like a possum hitchhiking). Told from the 1st person, Dual POV - I liked both MCs despite the frustrating communication skills, or lack thereof. It was a fun, fast light read.

I enjoyed this book!

The writing style was great for me: easy going, vocabulary that is easy to understand.

The storyline which is so known but at the same time original with its own plot twist and character development.

I fell in love with Noah and Victoria - they are perfect for each other because they complement each other so well.

In my opinion, this book is a great idea if you want something light, a little bit cheezy and to have a lot of fun.

However, I don't think that the last 50 pages were needed. Furthermore, I found it boring because of Victoria, who started to doubt her own choices.

I loved Lucy Day's One Sweet Holiday (a Christmas small town romance) so was excited to return to Jasmine Falls for Star Crossed Summer! We meet Victoria and Noah, college best friends who went their separate ways after an intense but confusing kiss, when they unexpectedly meet again working at a summer camp.

Overall I enjoyed this easy read romance, although I found some elements of the will they/won't they a little repetitive towards the end. I will absolutely be reading any future books in this series!

Lucy Day’s writing is so descriptive in the best way possible, when reading you feel as if you are there and can see the scene that she is describing. My Star-Crossed Summer is based at a summer camp with second chance romance and forced-proximity trope. If you want an easy to read sweet romance, you should read My Star-Crossed Summer.

a great book for this time of years especially with summer and various camps coming along.
this book is about Victoria how needs a bit of help. she is feeling adrift having lost much of what made up her life. a job. a man. ugh. so when her best friend offers her a job as camp counselor she thinks it could be just what she needs.
sadly, when she gets there she bumps into the one person who she did not need right now. the love of her life. that broke her heart.
but after seeing him and feeling all those feelings come back she is falling more uncertain than ever.
what she doesnt know(yet) is he feels the same. always has. what comes next is two people trying to tell themselves one thing whilst there hearts tell them another.
but its all still there. so what are they going to do now. read on to find out.
it was an enjoyable read and fits perfectly in this genre.
being in the uk and not having the camps they do in the USA i always find it fascinating to read about them. i think i often yearned to go to one or be working at one so i love seeing it through the eyes of characters in stories.

Lucy did an amazing job diving into a unique relationship, with such great background woven into the present day. The characters seemed real, I will definitely be looking out for more books by Lucy.

I honestly stopped caring about the FMC and lost interest about half way through the book, this could have been a lot shorter but every chapter they had to relive that night and their regret or the FMC’s relationship with her Mum

My heart did lurch at the twists though and I was quite invested so I give this 3 stars

The story is nice and cozy, definitely a lot of frustrating scenes, so if you like to torture yourself, you should definitely read this story. Both of them are cute together 💙 I love their dynamic, and I love the "meeting again and falling in love with you all over again" 🤗

Victoria Griffin has mastered the art of running; from relationships, from expectations, from anything that feels too permanent. After calling off her engagement and walking away from her job, she finds herself taking a short term position as a camp counsellor to get back on her feet.

The problem? Vic’s not exactly the outdoorsy type. The bigger problem? She arrives at camp and finds herself face to face with Noah, her former best friend that she kissed then ran away from. She hasn’t seen him since they kissed.

Vic and Noah’s unresolved past crackles with tension and simmering emotions, making every interaction electric. Watching Vic, clumsy and completely out of her element in the wilderness, stumble her way through nature was hilarious and relatable. But more than that, her journey to overcome her fear of the outdoors mirrors the way she slowly dismantles the emotional walls she built between herself and Noah. Vic has to confront her inner voice that criticizes her decisions. She is afraid of failure or of appearing like a failure. She is too harsh about herself. She needs to be more confident and don’t worry about what other people think about her, especially her mother.

This is a quick, enjoyable read that wraps summertime adventure and romance into one. With its perfect mix of heartfelt moments and playful energy, it offers a warm escape into a world of love, personal growth, and the great outdoors.

This book had way to many ways they described the past and present story. It could have been a much shorter story if we did not have to keep reading the before of Vic and Nate. Im sure everyone guessed the ending.

I struggled a bit to connect with this story but may need to return to it another time! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

If you’re looking for an easy quick read about second chances and following your heart, this is the book for you.

Victoria’s needs to not only make the difficult decision on whether to follow her heart regarding her love for Noah; but also stepping back and reevaluating her life and deciding to do what makes her happy and she’s passionate about instead of living her life according to everyone else’s expectations.

Victoria and Noah slow burn and flirting is deliciously cute and gives you all the feels.

I do wish the cover image was representative of how the characters are described in the book.

Victoria and Noah's friendship is heartwarming and them working together at the youth camp provides a fun setting. I am grateful that the story doesn’t wait all the way until the end to clear the air between the two love interests. There's nothing explicit about the romance but it does flirt with the line of clean considering with how much the characters mention their desire to be with each other physically. Just something to keep in mind depending on your spice-tolerance. I have not read any other books from this series but it works well as a standalone.

I don’t read second chance romances enough but this might be what I needed to change that. Victoria and Noah are loveable in their own way and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them coming back to each other.

The back drop of the kids camp was a nice touch, with Victoria feeling out of depth but being utterly charming and the kids (especially Priya and Layla) were adorable.

Will be recommending this to all who love a good romance and will be looking at more of Lucy’s work.

I am thankful to be given the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this book. I loved the setting and premise. A lot of the setting is at summer camp with the main characters being counselors who had a past together once upon a time. I think summer camps might be one of my new favorite settings. I love second chance troupes too. Overall, this had all the elements of a sweet cozy romance. Some of the conflict between the characters was a bit annoying but not enough that I wanted to DNF. I haven’t read the first story on the series but from meeting the the characters in this story I’m adding it to my TBR.
