What an intense and crazy ride that was! I love everything Keri Beevis writes, but I think this one is her best yet!
Nina is temporarily staying in her brother's flat, when she inadvertently notices something she wasn't planning to see, but her morbid curiosity prevents her from looking away. When the woman she was watching is reported missing, Nina knows who the last person to see her was, as she was also watching him. But she wasn't the only one!
There are some very dark and disturbing characters in this gripping tale and the character development is so well done. Having lived in an apartment block, I fully relate to how nosy other residents can be, but this lot surpassed any of my own experiences!
As it became darker and more twisted, I couldn't fathom how it was going to work out, so when the absolutely massive twist hit, I was stunned! Never, ever would I have predicted that one! Amazing!
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Keri Beevis and Boldwood for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This book takes you on a wild ride, filled with multiple perspectives and a cast of intriguing characters that constantly kept me guessing. However, I did find it a bit frustrating at times—it would have been helpful if it was clearer whose POV we were following.
The pacing is lightning-fast, though a few sections felt overly long and unnecessarily detailed. Still, the ending was satisfying, and the plot remained unpredictable throughout. I was always making guesses about the ending—and just as quickly changing them a few chapters later.

Overall, it's an exciting and twisty read that could have been even stronger with clearer structure around the shifting viewpoints.

The House Sitter is a tense, voyeuristic thriller with a strong hook and a compelling setup. The mystery unfolds slowly, with a growing sense of paranoia and danger that kept me turning pages. I enjoyed the idea of seeing something you're not supposed to, and the story does a good job playing with themes of trust and perception. However, some plot points felt a bit stretched, and the pacing dipped in the middle. Still, the suspense ramps up nicely toward the end, and the final twist was satisfying enough to make the ride worthwhile.

fast paced thriller that will keep you guessing

Nina has recently broken up with her long-term boyfriend Michael and decides to flat/cat sit while her brother goes on holiday to Hong Kong with his partner. It will give her time to decide what to do with her life and gets to stay in the up-market River heights apartments.
One evening after a sweltering day she decides to go out on the apartment balcony, where she finds a pair of binoculars and decides to be nosey and look across to the other apartments. Where she sees one of residents who she saw earlier and thought he was very attractive. Being intimate with a blonde woman.
But a few days later, local news reports says that same women has gone missing, and they is a search to find her. Nina decides to take on the search to see what happened that night she saw them together.
I always enjoy a Keri Beevis novel. She does not disappoint. This novel is a kind of different writing style from the author that I am used to. But still an enjoyable read, this is a well plotted tense storyline, with lots of twists and turns. There is quite a few characters in this story, with each have secrets they are hiding which keeps you guessing throughout. This has a very surprising ending that I wasn’t expecting. 5 stars.

I LOVED Keri Beevis’s psychological thriller The House Sitter. It was fast paced with great plot twists that I did not see coming. This would be a great movie!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had a little bit of everything. I had a hard time putting it down and when I had to, I was thinking about it. I could easily see this becoming a movie. I found it easy to follow all the characters and I loved the ending. I've already added another Keri Beevis book to my TBR. Thank you to Boldwood Books for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

After Nina breaks up with her boyfriend, her brother invites her to stay at his flat and house sit at his rental while he and his husband are away. Bored one night (and without power), Nina sits out back and uses the binoculars to check out the neighborhood. What she sees will haunt her! She tries to involve the police, but they do not see any proof of a crime being committed. Nina will not give up though, she knows what she saw and begins to do her own investigation.
This was a fast paced and well rounded psychological thriller. When there is a miscommunication and her brothers best friend shows up to stay in the flat as well, we get a bit of romance as well! Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC!!

A MUST READ FOR 2025 !!!
I was hooked from the first chapter of this book! Actually, to be completely honest I was hooked as soon as I read the blurb! There was a point in the middle where I thought I'd worked out the ending (I think this was intentional), but don't be fooled! It isn't as easy as you think! This was a gripping story with several twists and turns! The story is addictive, fast-paced and chilling. It is a real page-turner! I had never read anything by Keri Beevis before this book, and I have no idea why. This psychological thriller was gripping and suspenseful. The blurb and cover for this book reminded me of Lisa Jewell's 'The Family Upstairs'. I was not wrong in this assumption. If you like Lisa Jewell's writing, you will enjoy this book! This is one of the best books I have read in 2025. I am excited to discover more of Keri's work.

This book had plot twists on “WHAT just happened?!” Scenes on character development and then it gave me exactly what I wanted when I asked, and ended in a bang.
The cover for this book I LOVE. That and the blurb is what initially got me to pick this up, as I have never heard of this author before.
The reviews are right - this book is HARD to put down. It’s grappling, intense, and also gives you the details you want and need.
The beginning scenes had me in shock, spiked morbid curiosity, and overall just had me really intrigued.
I will look for this book in stores because I want to add it to my shelf!
Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for approving me request for this free eARC! I am leaving this honest feedback voluntarily.

A fun, quick read from an author new to me. Nina is house sitting for her brother while he’s out of the country and she’s recovering from a broken engagement and finds herself to be one of the last people to see a missing woman alive.
Who did it? The wealthy guy living on daddy’s dime, the nosy neighbor, a stranger or was it something else?
You’ll think you know the answer but find yourself questioning what you know throughout the entire book.
I personally would have liked to see a little more character development for some of the parties we are introduced to but then again the mystery plays to the twists of “who done it” so I understand the decisions that were made. Not sure the romantic storyline was necessary as I found those sections didn’t keep my attention as much and found myself trying to skim back to the more mysterious sections.
Overall, worth the read if you enjoy a “who done it”

The House Sitter by Keri Beevis
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 stars)
The House Sitter was a fun, fast-paced thriller that kept me engaged throughout. I really appreciated the touch of romance woven into the plot — it's not something you see often in this genre, and it added a nice layer to the story.
That said, there were a lot of moving parts, and at times it felt a bit too busy. I would have preferred a tighter focus, perhaps sticking to just one POV — especially the female main character's. The third-person narration also revealed a bit too much, which made the twist less surprising than it could have been.
Despite those critiques, I enjoyed the ride and definitely plan to read more from Keri Beevis. She has a compelling style, and I’m curious to see where she goes next!

4.5 stars!
After a breakup, Nina house-sits their brother Dexter's apartment. During a power outage, they witness suspicious activity in a neighboring building and become drawn into a mystery involving a missing woman. As they dig deeper into the case, they realize they are being watched as well. Nina must decide who to trust as she tries to uncover the truth.
I absolutely love Keri's work, and I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to review this book. Buckle up, because we are in for a wild ride with multiple points of view and a plethora of intriguing characters to keep us on our toes!
In this captivating tale, we are introduced to Nina, Zac, Julian, Leonard, and Tabitha, each with their own unique perspective. The author skillfully crafted these characters, making them easily distinguishable and utterly engaging. Kerry's writing style is a delight, effortlessly juggling multiple characters with finesse.
The pace of the book is lightning-fast, though some parts may have been a tad lengthy and overly explained. However, these details were crucial in advancing the plot. The twists and turns in the story were expertly executed, with some revelations coming early on and others slowly unfolding. The unexpected ending left me reeling, especially with the surprising twist that caught me off guard. Just when you think you have it all figured out, Keri throws a curveball that will leave you speechless.
If you relish a suspenseful and unpredictable read that is impossible to put down, then this book is must-read. Trust me, just when you think you know what's coming next, Keri will prove you wrong in the most delightful way possible! Perfect summer read!
Thank you, Boldwood Books, for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The house sitter by Carrie Beavis, after Nina breaks up with her boyfriend her brother lets her stay at his flat while he’s away on vacation. This is when she sees someone across the way having sex with a blonde woman only to learn a few days later the woman is missing. afterNina tries to involve the police and the man’s lifelong friend Tabatha, alibis him. This is when Nina starts making some risky decisions to try and solve it herself while this is happening, she seems to be falling for her brother‘s best friend and the actual owner of the flat she’s housesitting. The man she saw having sex with the blonde is named Julian his dad owns the apartment buildings and it seems he has a history of being attached to dead and or missing women but unfortunately Nina isn’t the only one watching his Cummings and goings and the other person has been doing it for much longer. this is definitely a five star read and although my review doesn’t reflect that trust me when I say the author has done it again and looks like this are the reason she is my favorite mystery/thriller riders. She always has a banger in store for the reader and when it comes to who done it I can never guess until it’s obvious in my face. Her writing is so brilliant and keeps you reading and the housesitter is no different it was interesting well done and Nina is someone so worth rooting for. Not to mention I absolutely loved Zack! #NetGalley, #BowoodBooks, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestreview, #KeriBeavis, #TheHouseSitter,

Keri Beevis is one author I can count on for a doozy of a story every time. Once again she has come through with a twisty, suspenseful, trust noone thriller.
Y'all need to read this!

Thank you Netgalley and one of my favs Keri Beevis for this ARC!
This book was so good!! Typical Keri Beevis style that keeps you on the edge with a lot of twists and turns and tricks. I love how he always incorporate hints of romance but not too much so to take away from the thrilling plot. Highly recommend.
