These are not likeable characters, but they are incredibly realistic. The naïve obsession that inflicts so many women in early adulthood is expertly portrayed. The storytelling is captivating, and the examination of the messiness of female friendship is very well done.

I loved the 1990s Dublin setting, the female friendship and the compelling, suspenseful plot involving a manipulative man who is abusing young girls and the way one friend is determined to save them. Good on audio and perfect for fans of authors like Donna Tart. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review. This was my first book by Lisa Harding and I was impressed!

I love dark acadamia and morally gray main characters/narrators. I also found the ending to be surprising. Loved this book!

I’m a fan of Lisa Harding’s writing. She crafts incredible flawed characters with voices that get into your mind and heart. She’s done it again with Jessica and Lisa, delivering a compelling story about toxic and abusive relationships!
