I loved this book. I read John Trent's book "The Blessing" back in 1995 and liked it, but I wasn't a parent back then, and I also wasn't really connected with my own past and the wounds that have come from it. 30 years later, I've done some work on my past and been in the process from healing from past abuse, brokenness in our family, and severe dysfunction. This book came along at the perfect time for me. I gleaned so much from it. I also really appreciated John and Kari's sharing of their experience. It resonated a lot with me. I would recommend this book to anyone who hasn't grown up with the blessing of a healthy family and need help moving forward from that.
