This book has some very poignant advice that is cleverly disguised as humor. Particularly relevant, given what's currently happening in America.
If you're a fan of our current autocracy, then this probably isn't the book for you. For all others, this might inspire a spark of resistance, or at least instill you with a sense of comradery and community—the knowledge that not everyone supports tyranny.

I’ve been a big Brittlestar fan for years and jumped at the chance to read this.
It is what the title says it is - a guide to resisting fascism by seeing it through the psyche of a cat. A quick and funny but valuable read. My only complaint is that the text gets a bit repetitive at times
If you’re looking for something longer and more in-depth, check out his other book “Welcome to the Stupidpocalypse”.

Funny and wise, this is a great book to read for the times, especially if you are a cat lover and hater of fascism.
It was a slim, whimsical book that was easy to read. I enjoyed the little comic illustrations that accompanied the beginning of every chapter too.

I've already pre-ordered this book and will likely get a copy for all the fellow childless cat-ladies in my life. It's a hilarious take on resisting tyranny through the lens of our quirky feline friends. It's a quick read, but definitely provided some much needed levity considering the state of our country at the moment. Highly recommend!

Having just read "On Tyranny", which is a very important but emotionally weighty read, I saw this title and thought, YES! I need a lighter take on addressing the world at the moment. Plus cats! A very short read, less than an hour. Cute observations of how cats, in the course of their daily lives, do things that would annoy our current tyrannical leaders. This book definitely takes a political stance about our current leadership, and provides some humorous but thoughtful approaches to dealing with wannabe tyrants. An easy read for anyone trying to find some light these days amongst the influx of political bullies.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
I love this book! I actually read it out loud to my entire family. It was exactly what we needed to hear during this absolutely insane time. We plan as a family to adopt more cat behaviors in our fight against fascism. Leave no tabletop adorned! No nap not taken! This pride will be well cared for and ready to help take the world back from the fascists.

‘The trick is to question every collar you’re handed, no matter how harmless it seems. Is it really just a harmless accessory, or is it a way to keep you in line?’

A quick and funny read from start to finish! Cats can be great teachers and once you’ve learned from the cats you can try to teach your dog too.

It only took me about twenty minutes to read this, it was so short. More like a blog post! But I only complain about that because it was so clever and I enjoyed it so much. 10/10, would gift to fellow childless cat ladies.

⭐️ 5/5
This book is amazingly profound, witty, and clever! The chapters are short and draw parallels between cat behavior and resistance strategies for surviving fascism. It blends feline wisdom with sharp political commentary in a way that’s both hilarious and disturbingly insightful. Perfect for cat lovers and anti-ultranationalists who have a sense of dark humor.

If you are, or know of someone, who is both a cat fanatic and anti-MAGA-fascist, this book makes a perfect little gift, or simply something on your bookshelf to cheer you in these very unpleasant times. (And I do mean "little"- the book is barely 40 pages.)
However, even with just 40 pages, this book becomes a bit repetitive, and the "cats know how to fight fascism!" joke wears a bit thin.
But cats are cute (and fascists aren't), so I recommend.

This was a fun and quick read with short chapters based on personality traits of cats and recommendations to use those traits to survive (and fight) fascism. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
