Well, this was a nice one, I don't have much to say to be honest since it's a bit predictable, I liked the diary theme (it was the most memorable part), I loved our main character, her way of being, how she never stopped being herself or believing, I liked it, I can say that her evolution was beautiful. But yes, I have a but and it's our male protagonist and his daughter, I don't know, I wasn't convinced (although yes, she is a girl entering her teenage years so I understand that part). It took me a while to get the hang of the story but I ended up reading it and yes, I liked it.

what an amazing read, it literally is a warm fuzzy hug in a book, irs so easy to get lost in the story line and it’s a just a magical book to get lost in.
a real fun book about finding the magic in life and each other

Jaimie has written another beautiful story that centres around three characters, a quirky shop owner, a stern father who is also a teacher and his wayward teen.
Their paths cross as the girl runs away from her boring father and seeks refuge in the hidden treasures shop that the owner likens to Ariel’s cave in the Little Mermaid.
Both adults are unlucky in love and have sworn off new beginnings. How will it end for the trio? They find a hidden treasure and find themselves drawn into the tale.
The author is outstanding in writing her quirky disney’esque love stories. Another 5 star all the way and must have summer read. Wonderful..

Finding Love at the Magical Curiosity Shop by Jaimie Admans is the 5th book in the Ever After Street series. This is a whimsical, but weighty story about recovering from trauma, uncovering personal bravery, being open to hope, and rediscovering love.

Mickey is the owner of a curiosity shop of bits and bobbles (that some call junk). Mickey has taken over the shop after her father passed away with the idea of continuing his legacy. As a result of loss, Mickey has accumulated so many “treasures” that her shop no longer resembles the idea of its intended purpose.
She is in fact, collecting more treasures more than she is selling. When a handsome, but antagonistic stranger walks into her shop with his curious teenage daughter, he bumps his head and is not only injured, but irritated by all of the clutter. His daughter, however, is enchanted with the shop. The father and daughter are clearly struggling to relate to one another, but this shop may end up being the thing that reconnects them.

Mickey and Ava, Ren’s teenage daughter, discover a diary that appears to be written by a mermaid! The three soon become engrossed in this story and it draws them together as they embark on a journey of magic, connection, trust and healing.

This story is sweet and has a great message, as do all of Jaimie Adman’s stories. I enjoyed it, but it didn’t draw me in as much as her previous stories. The main male character was difficult to like for much of the story. I do understand his reasons for behaving in such a way, but there is such a thing as common courtesy and basic kindness and his bluntness felt extreme. The third act breakup felt a bit silly and overblown. It is also mentioned that he has a hard time putting his thoughts into words, but he has times that he is far more eloquent and emotional than most people would naturally be.

These stories are all charming, feel-good and enchanting in their own way, like modern-day fairytales, while still dealing with deeper issues. The author pens unique stories with her own distinct style. While this wasn’t my favorite in the series (which can be read as a standalone), I am glad that I read it.

Another instalment in the Ever After Street series and it was a lovely one :)

Mickey is running a curiosity shop in Ever After Street and she is Ariel, come to life. She makes up stories about the items in her shop, their backstories, as she is distracting herself from the fact that the shop is full of clutter these days, since her father passed away. She is in a rut and has no idea what to do about it.

One day, Mickey meets Ren and his daughter Ava, and from that moment on, her life starts to change. Firstly, Ren is the grumpiest, rudest man she has ever met. But Ava is delightful and they bond over their mutual love of quirky items. How will she manage these two? As time goes on, she finds herself softening towards Ren, as he softens towards her.

Naturally, the path of true love is not smooth, and dating a single dad comes with its own challenges, but mostly the story of Mickey and Ren is about two damaged souls finding each other, and this is what makes this story special.

4.5 stars from me.

As a huge fan of Jaimie Admans I am always happy to get a review copy of any of her books. This one was a book I devoured in a day and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a magical story that warms your heart and make you feel good all over.

Mickey Teasdale has a curiosity shop she loves but for some reason things don't seem as magical as they had in the past. But things change when she meets grumpy Ren and his daughter Ava and a secret diary is found. What will happen next? I won't tell but it is magical for sure. Loved the story loved the characters and as always Jaimie Admans knows how to write a wonderfully intriguing yet light-hearted story that will take you on a magical journey.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

'Would he be a better person if he drank lemonade instead?' 'At least it might fizz him up a bit!'

I don't ever want this series to end, not ever! 💖 I'm sure this is the effect that Ever After Street is having on many readers. This time we get to read Mickey and Ren's story. They are polar opposites, Mickey has dyed red hair like Ariel from the Little Mermaid, she wears seashells in her hair and loves everything mermaid 🧜‍♀️ and believes in fairytales. Ren is sensible, strait-laced and Ava, his teenage daughter thinks he's boring. But together they work - well eventually they do - as they set off on a mermaid adventure together.

Ava was awesome, for a thirteen-year-old, she was pretty perceptive and not without her wily ways to try to get her grumpy Dad and awesome new friend together. She's sassy and fun and I liked her a lot.

We have shops like Mickey's Curiosity Shop close to where I live. Sort of antiquey crossed with a jumble sale! 🤣 You never know what you're going to find in there and I love the mystery that comes with a visit to any shop like that.

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Rachel's Random Resources for the opportunity to read and review Finding Love at the Magical Curiosity Shop by Jaimie Admans.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Finding Love At The Magical Curiosity Shop' by Jaimie Admans

What another absolute stunner from the extremely talented Jaimie!!! Well done Jaimie on absolutely beautiful and perfect read!! This is an absolutely gorgeous page-turner that regardless of whether you are laying on a lounger on the beach or curled up on the sofa in front of the fire Jaimie is guaranteed to pick you up and whisk you away to the stunning ever After Street. This book is the fifth book in Jaimie's 'Ever After Street' series but each book can be read as a standalone.

The book is extremely well written with beautiful descriptions that completely drew me in. The synopsis and the cover match the storyline perfectly!!

The storyline itself is another absolutely magical one in this series and completely swept me away. This is the fifth book in Jaimie's 'The Ever After' series and although it is the fifth book in the series it can be read as a standalone with no problems but I cannot wait to go back to the first two books that I have not managed to read yet and get completely lost in those too!! I mean, seriously, this book was just absolutely enchanting, beautiful, heart-warming and an absolute must read especially to turn a frown upside down!! You really do have to grab your copy of this absolutely gorgeous book to find out more for yourselves!! I can promise that you will not regret it whether you start from this book or the first book in this series which is called 'A Midnight Kiss On Ever After Street' you are guaranteed to fall in love with the characters, the street and everything about Jaimie's absolutely stunning books and series!!! The storyline is ram packed with love, magic, curiosities, friendship, family, drama, romance, mystery, mermaids and everything you could ask for in a stunning must read. You need to clear your schedules before starting this as it is completely unputdownable!! I picked this up in the morning and absolutely devoured it several hours later. I was completely hooked and so lost in the beautiful settings, magical storyline and amazing characters that I just could not put it down. Although I was devastated to come to the end I am going to go straight back and read the first book in this series which is called 'A Midnight Kiss On Ever After Street' and I'm excited to meet the characters again and see how they have moved on from the start! Jaimie's beautiful and evocative writing skills ensures the readers are absolutely sucked into the stunning storyline with the atmosphere and characters coming to life all around them.. I absolutely fell in love venturing into Ever After Street again and Jaimie portrays life in a small community absolutely perfectly I became so invested in this book that it actually felt like going on a holiday and I absolutely dreaded coming to the end where I had to unpack my suitcase and get back to reality and rainy Wales. It was an absolutely compelling, easy to read, beautiful and addictive heart lifting read that kept me turning the pages. I loved discovering the pasts and histories of the characters and the street itself and I was absolutely swept away in the story line. I also thoroughly enjoyed discovering the curiosities in Mickey's shop as well as seeing it transform which I found to be a really unique and enjoyable part of the story! The characters, surroundings and everything came to life around me and I cannot wait to return in the previous and next books in this absolutely stunning series. This book would make a beautiful movie and I will be the first in line to watch it!! An absolutely gorgeous, cute and addictive addition to an absolutely stunning series!!

Do not turn a single page of this book until you have cleared your schedules and when you do get ready to go on a stunning holiday you will not want to leave!!

I became completely invested in the characters, along with the storyline, who were all absolutely fantastic with their own individual personalities, flaws and quirks. They all started feeling like friends so quickly having got to meet and know so many of them so well. I felt like I was leaving amazing people and friends and feel quite sad about that but am happy in the knowledge that I can go back to the previous books in the series and meet many of them again while I am waiting for the next stunner to be released. Jaimie is hopefully writing her next book and bringing them alive as I write this as it wont take me long to zoom through the first and second books if they are anything at all like this one (hint hint Jaimie😉). Jaimie is an absolutely phenomenal writer and her talent ensures that these and the other characters all leap off the pages and come to life in front of your eyes! I cannot wait to meet most of them again in the first, second and next books in this series which I really, really, really hope is not going to take too long to come out!!!This is one of those series which could go on and on and I wouldn't get bored. Here's to meeting them all again along with the next new faces of Ever After Street!!

Congratulations Jaimie on yet another absolutely gorgeous success!!! I'm definitely looking forward to my next holiday on Ever After Street!!! This is exactly why you are in my favourite author club and my go to author when I need a frown turning upside down! Here is to your next success!!!

Overall this is a perfect, stunning, page turning beach or fireplace read with a great gang of characters that will sweep you away to the magical and enchanting Ever After Street from the very first page to the end!

You can't help but smile when one of your favorite authors writes a book that makes you laugh out loud right on the first page.
I loved meeting Mickey Teasdale, the owner of the Magical Curiosity Shop. This shop sells used items, items once someone's beloved treasures and they brought a touch of magic to their former owners' life. Now, sadly just sit and collect dust in this little shop but Mickey is convinced they will once again bring just the right person magic again. She can't admit her shop is cluttered and could use with a good clean out.
Amongst the clutter one day a teen girl burst in with her father not far behind looking for her. The way he meets Mickey had me laughing and Mickey she shines through. Her personality is someone you'd want to get to know. Fun, friendly, outgoing she's the cheerful face in the crowd.
This chance meeting between father and daughter and Mickey grows into a friendship guided along by the teenaged daughter who is outgoing herself. As they all start to spend more time together, we can see single dad Ren Montague loves his daughter very much but could use just a little reassurance he's doing things the right way as it sure isn't easy raising a young daughter on his own.
I loved the curiosity aspect of the story along with the special diary and the mermaid part of it all wrapping up to give this story a really special and lovely magical touch. The story made me smile and I am now looking forward to more by the author.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

Whenever I’m in the mood for something cozy and fun—lighthearted but with just enough depth—I turn to my favorite authors. This time, it was Jaimie Admans. From the moment I read one of her books, I was hooked, and The Ever After Street series has carved out a very special place in my heart.

In this installment, we get to know Mickey, the owner of The Mermaid’s Treasure Trove, whose world shifts when a young girl walks into her shop with her father. What follows is a beautiful story of how one unexpected encounter can change the course of three lives.

There’s magic, romance, mystery, and drama—and of course, so much fun. Some moments had me feeling giddy, others brought tears to my eyes. It’s a lovely tale about love, family, believing in the impossible, and taking chances. I truly enjoyed every page, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the Ever After Street series!

This is a cute and light read about a woman who owns a shop and a father-daughter duo who joins her to find out more about one of her items.

While the book ultimately was a bit too wholesome for my taste, I think it will appeal to a lot of people who love Disney and want to something to take their mind off of the heavy day to day lives we live.

A gentle read. Mickey runs a curiosity shop, where the amount of stock is out of control. She meets Ava and her dad Ren, the former loves the shop and the latter hates it. As they embark on a mermaid quest together will things change? A great summer read.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a huge Jaimie Admans fan!
I have read and loved, each and every one of her books, and this one is no exception.
I adore how Jaimies storytelling draws you in like a magnet, holds you there until the last page where you instantly Google for the next book in the series, or if she has managed to write and release another book in the last week!
This story is about a curiosity shop on Ever After Street and although it is about the Street we know and love, this story seemed to concentrate more on the shop and the 3 characters, rather than bringing lots of others in to it.
This worked as you really got to know the characters well.
I loved the sassyness of the 13 year old teenager Ava. Sulky but loveable. Ren was hopeless but also totally amazing and Mickey was such a strong character even though she was lost in her own world of other people's memories

Totally and utterly beautiful book. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion

Is this the last book in the series - someone please tell me it's not true?

I have absolutely loved each and every single book in the Ever After Street series and I have to say Jaimie you certainly left the best till last!

Mermaids, magic, a secret diary and a treasure trove full of curiosity await behind the doors of The Mermaid's Treasure Trove.

It's such a treat to be back on Ever After Street - if only it were real! The characters are charming, the settings idylls and the magic is real!

Warm, whimsy and wonderful!

I would firstly just like to say a big thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources who very kindly forwarded me an arc copy of this book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review.

This is actually book number five from the Ever After Street series and I see no reason why it cannot be read as a stand alone without any problems, although it would probably be better when enjoyed as part of the series too.

I thoroughly enjoyed this magical story and it pulled me in and moved along quite nicely with each page pushing me towards the next one and the next and the next too! It was such an easy book to read and i absolutely loved how the story slowly unfolded.

There was a lot packed into this wonderful magical story and i loved how it was set in an extremely cluttered curiosity shop and also featured a hidden diary with a mermaid fairy tale and was super magical too.

Along with its quirky setting, there was gentle humour, small-town vibes, small business owner, single dad, grumpy - sunshine and had a delicious slow burn too. All-in-all in was a wonderful, mystical magical read and i loved it…….

Running a curiosity shop is something that Mickey loves, although not everyone shares her passion for everyday objects that people either love or hate, as she finds out when she meets Ren and his daughter Ava. Her shop is situated in a small street in the Wye Valley and all the other shops nearby are also themed after a different fairytale, but unfortunately for Mickey all the other shops are busy except hers. But she loves her shop and it gives her a place to escape to, she knows what it's like to be separated from sentimental things after losing her mum at the young age of five and then losing her dad more recently. She realises that life doesn't always have happy endings like in a fairytale, but she's wants there to be people who still believe that they do. She wants a stall at the local antiques fair to hopefully turn things around, she can't make things work financially as they are at the moment. But when an old diary is found inside an unusual table, could this be the item to turn both her life and business around? Not only that but is the new friendship with Ava and her dad Ren too good to be true, Ava certainly appreciates Mickeys friendship and Ava has great enthusiasm for the items in her shop but is Ren going to be won round with what he calls "a load of junk". When they discovered this letter from long ago, could this be the answer to her dreams and prove that dreams and miracles do come true?
Can she make her shop life which is by no means tidy and organised, work and make money for her? But one thing it definitely is above all else is magical, full of love and hope and thats something that Mickey has been wanting for such a long time. But will things work out for the trio?

This is a lovely magical story about finding friendship and discovering your true self in a lovely location with great friends who value your opinion. I know myself and many others would love to have a rummage through Mickey's shop and discover those little treasures that meant so much to their previous owner. A book to lose yourself in and find friendship in this little curiosity shop, a five-star read from me.

Her father always stocked the Curiosity Shop with treasures he found – always with stories and histories attached – but, since losing him, Mickey has lost her way a little. The many items – some might call them junk – she’s continued to add sometimes don’t have their own stories so she makes them up, trying to add her own touch of magic. A lot of them are inspired by The Little Mermaid – there’s a statue outside the shop that means a lot to her, she’s dyed her hair red to look like Ariel, and she’s a believer in all the myths and legends. But she can now barely move inside the shop without knocking things over, all her attempts at stock control are failing, the customers are put off by the mess that now extends onto the pavement outside, and she’s no longer feeling the joy of people discovering their perfect find.

Teenage Ava loves it though – her excitement when she finds the shop, digging into its depths for treasures, is something it’s easy to share. But her father Ren certainly doesn’t – he’s horrified by the mess, makes his feelings clear, and even more forcibly when he cuts his head on a poorly positioned ornamental birdcage. But, like his daughter, he’s rather taken with Mickey, and – rather surprisingly for them both – offers to help her create some order out of the chaos. And he can see his daughter – abandoned by her mother, and inclined to be a bit off a handful – is enchanted, both by the shop and its owner, and even more so when she finds an old diary hidden inside a wooden box. A few pages in, it seems it was written by a real-life mermaid – and together they all set about trying to find out more about its history.

I’ll admit that I’m not very familiar with the story of The Little Mermaid, and I thought that might make the whole story less engaging – but it certainly didn’t. As the diary’s story slowly unfolds – the shipwreck, a rescued mariner, a developing romance – I became increasingly caught up in the lovely relationship between Ren, Mickey and Ava. And their friendship – often tested, sometimes uneasy, with so many obstacles in its way (and not just the overflowing stock that Mickey’s reluctant to part with) – gradually turns into an unlikely romance, and it was one I really believed in. All the emotional touches are simply perfect – both Ren and Mickey (and she knows they’ve turned a corner when he starts to call her Mick) have experienced pain in their former lives, and it was so moving to see them opening up and letting each other in.

The whole story is enchanting – nicely counterpointed by the discoveries in the diary – and I found it both heartwarming and a complete delight from beginning to end. Of course, the wonderful community in Ever After Street plays its part in helping bring about the much hoped for happy ending – beautifully done, as always. I’m sad there will only be one more visit – one last book in this lovely series – but every single book, full of fairy tale magic and romance that’s never failed to touch my heart, has been so very special. And this one is no exception – I really loved it.

A fun, sweet romance with a little magic thrown in. I’ve always loved the sound of Ever After Street and this is another wonderful instalment in the series.
Both Mickey and Ren have been hurt and need the magic of the street to do its thing.
I loved Ava and Mickey - their zest for all things magical and mermaid was so refreshing and added that beautiful warmth to the story.

The premise for this set of books is gorgeous and heartwarming. This is my first read of Ever After Street and it certainly won't be my last. This book is loosely Little Mermaid themed with a lot of character development and a lot of cheer.

I loved Micky's character and immensely enjoyed the banter with Ren. I appreciated that the characters had each loved and lost and lost hope at some stage in their lives and it made for a stronger bonding experience for them both when they found each other.

Single parent new starts are often tricky to write but this one came with an enormous amount of sensitive handling and a great grip of reality vs just fairytale...except for...you know...the whole street thing!

Overall I really loved it and hope I can read more.
A big thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

Finding Love at the Magical Curiosity Shop is an amazing book! I loved the story, the characters, the romance, well...everything. This story is so much more than a retelling of The Little Mermaid. Loosely based on a childhood favorite fairytale, the author magnificently modernized the story. My love for this book was so strong I read it in one sitting, unable to put it down. I had to know what happened between Ava and Ren and the story in the secret diary. I was hooked by the end of the first page.

Mickey is a dynamic character but her life has been filled by loss. Her curiosity shop, The Mermaid's Treasure Trove, keeps her balanced and her mind off of distressing things. However, she's lost her way with the shop but didn't realize it until one rude customer shakes the cobwebs loose. Ren and his daughter Ava suddenly appear in her shop one day. One typical 13-year-old and one typical uncool parent who are trying their best to navigate their own losses. Mickey and Ren hit if off even with their disastrous first encounter.

Two broken souls, desperate, and unknowingly drawn to one another, unite in the most fantastic romance.
