Quite cleverly done, this is very much an early-reader's emotions book. It's a one-time-use-only affair, as we have a lot of drawing and filling in to be done before we get to the end. Our main character is a little critter who wants to collect a host of emotions, and so takes us through its week – we not only have to name the emotion felt at each event, but we have to draw other characters sharing that emotion, or its opposite, and indeed do a host of activities across these pages.

This then is not going to work for children such as I was, who disliked drawing, but the snappy narrative is a surprising and surprisingly successful way to get a lot of beginner's information across. This is barely at the stage of being self-aware, of knowing what all your body parts are doing with each emotion felt – it's for a stage of development before even that. But I think, as a pure layman, that this would work. The amount of tasks would drag this out to quite a few hours, but value and accuracy is to be had here, and probably some great use.

Great activity book for kids to interact with, draw, name, and understanding all of their feelings and emotions in a healthy way. I highly recommend this workbook for any parent of kids as it requires the child to think critically rather than just doodle. I also appreciated the letter to adults.
