10 Marchfield Square is a lovely little community filled with lies and killers. I can’t believe this is Nicola Whyte’s debut novel. The writing was wonderful and I really enjoyed the mystery. I had a fun time getting to know all of the characters. The audiobook was fantastic. I highly recommend reading it that way. The ending makes me think we will be seeing more of this little community and I can’t wait. If you love murder mysteries like I do you should definitely check this one out.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for sending me an arc in exchange for my honest review.

10 Marchfield Square was a somewhat predictable murder mystery, but still an enjoyable read. I thought the two main characters made a great duo, and the audiobook was easy to follow along with, which I've noticed is not always the case for mysteries with a lot of characters involved. I would not be surprised if this became a series!
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review!

10 Marchfield Square was such a fun surprise. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but I ended up really enjoying it. It's got that cozy mystery vibe I love, with just the right amount of humor and quirky characters to keep things interesting.
The story centers around a murder in a tiny London square, and the police are all too happy to blame the wife. But the landlady, Celeste (who is fantastic, by the way), ropes in a cleaner named Audrey and a washed-up crime writer named Lewis to figure out what really happened. Audrey and Lewis are such a great odd couple—I loved their banter and how their relationship grew throughout the book.
The mystery itself had some good twists, though I did see a couple coming. Still, I didn’t mind because the characters and the atmosphere totally carried it for me.

10 Marchfield Square is a cozy mystery with great chemistry between the main characters. The story follows Audrey, a house cleaner, and Lewis, an aspiring writer, as they are hired to be amateur investigators to solve the mystery of the murder of their neighbor. There were some unexpected twists along the way. Overall, this story held my attention, but it wasn't a page-turner like some mysteries can be. I enjoyed the London location and the cozy aspects of the story. The characters were well developed, and it was easy for the reader (or listener) to fall in love with them quickly. The narration of the audiobook was engaging. The narrator's style, including her tone and pacing, kept me listening and wanting to hear more. Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook, and I recommend it to anyone looking for something light to listen to. 3.5/5 Stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this free audiobook arc in exchange for my unbiased review.

Thank you @NetGalley and @Dreamscapemedia for the audio ARC. I enjoyed this book very much, it was hard to stop listening. If you enjoy the show Only Murders in the Building and the fun of solving a murder, than this book is for you. Audrey is the cleaner of the building and becomes the cleaner of the crime. Lewis is trying to get out of his writer's block. When a neighbor is murdered they get involved to solve the crime, but they will find more than they bargained for.

The residents of 10 Marchfield Square in London are startled when one of them is found murdered in his apartment. The residents have felt that the security surrounding their homes was adequate to keep out any crime. They live in several buildings belonging to a wealthy widow who has converted the former stables and various outbuildings into apartments. The entire community is surrounded by a fence that the residents only have keys to. So how did a murderer get in, or is the murderer among the residents? The elderly widow who vets all of the residents before allowing them to rent her properties decides she must get to the bottom of the crime. She enlists two of her residents to investigate the crime, even though they aren't with the police. One is her cleaner, Audrey, who lives with her friend in one of the flats. Audrey loves cleaning, but it doesn't pay very well. The other resident, Lewis, is a writer of detective fiction. While his first book was very successful, subsequent books haven't done well and he's been reduced to working a day job he hates to make money. The two don't know each other, but they decide to accept the offer to investigate. For Audrey, the additional money will come in handy, and for Lewis, perhaps he can get some ideas for his next novel.
I enjoyed hearing about how two amateur sleuths might go about investigating a crime. There were no shortage of suspects among the residents and lots of secrets came out as everyone was investigated. There was a twist at the end that perhaps promised we aren't yet finished with 10 Marchfield Square. I really enjoyed the narrator. She did an excellent job of portraying the various characters and gave each a unique voice. This was my favorite type of audiobook, with just a talented single narrator and no additional sound effects!

This is a cosy murder mystery with an amateur detective duo who beats the police to the punch.
When the first body turns up dead in the building at 10 Marchfield Square, wealthy neighbour Celeste feels the police are bumbling about and not likely to find the culprit. When the second body turns up and they suspect a suicide, the conclusion is confirmed. She proceeds to secure a better duo of detectives inasmuch as at least they seem interested to discover the truth and are unwilling to leave any stone unturned.
Quite the caper.
Thank you Nicola Whyte and Netgalley for this ALC.

This is a cozy murder mystery that you'll likely have solved before the main characters are even introduced. Although the crimes are easy to figure out, it's still a fun and engaging read. I could easily see it becoming a charming series.

As soon as I saw this book compared to Only Murders in the Building, I knew I had to read it - and shoutout to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC because WOW, did it deliver! This murder mystery had everything I love: a charmingly eccentric cast, a cozy-but-intriguing setting, and a sleuthing duo I couldn't get enough of.
Now usually, books with a large ensemble cast make me feel like I need a spreadsheet just to keep track of everyone. But Nicola masterfully introduces each character with such personality and purpose that I never felt lost. Their quirks, connections, and roles in the mystery were clear, fun, and honestly made the story that much more enjoyable. By the end, I was already craving more Marchfield Square stories - fingers crossed this becomes a full-on series!
At the heart of the story are Audrey and Lewis, the most unexpectedly perfect investigative duo. Total opposites in every way, but their dynamic is pure gold. Audrey is warm, empathetic, and lowkey a people-whisperer - seriously, everyone just opens up to her. She’s a housekeeper, with a soothing love of cleaning that doubles as her thinking time. Golden Retriever energy all the way.
And then there’s Lewis - grumpy, reclusive, creatively stuck. He’s a crime novelist in a rut who’d rather talk to his typewriter than actual humans. Blunt to a fault, but weirdly lovable. Big Black Cat energy. Together? Chaos and chemistry in the best possible way.
When a resident at Marchfield turns up dead, the fabulously dramatic building owner, Celeste, decides the police can’t be trusted and hires Audrey and Lewis to crack the case. With Audrey’s intuition and Lewis’ crime-writer brain, they’re the unlikely dream team she needs - and it’s SO fun watching them in action.
Plot-wise? I was hooked. I had my prime suspect early and stuck with them the whole way through... and still second-guessed myself. Nicola threw in just enough curveballs to keep me on my toes without veering into confusing territory. And that ending? Chef’s kiss. Satisfying, surprising, and perfectly paced.
If you love clever mysteries with lovable oddballs, sharp humor, and just a sprinkle of cozy vibes - this is your next read. I truly hope this is just the beginning for Audrey, Lewis, and the wild world of Marchfield Square!

I loved this story! If you love mysteries, go get this one,.10 Marchfield Square by Nicola Whyte is a smart, layered mystery filled with richly drawn characters and a ton of twists that kept me completely hooked from start to finish. There’s a certain Only Murders in the Building vibe here—quirky, clever, and full of charm—but with its own distinct voice and tone.
Audrey, the cleaner, and Lewis, the reclusive writer, made such a great team. I found their dynamic refreshing and believable—both characters are deeply human, with their own flaws, strengths, and unique perspectives. Nicola Whyte did an excellent job crafting a cast of characters that all felt real and multidimensional, even the side characters had depth and purpose.
The murder mystery itself was just plain fun—well-paced, unpredictable, and satisfying in all the right ways. And the narration by Nneka Okoye was absolutely perfect—she brought every character to life with such nuance and expression that I often forgot I was listening to just one narrator.
This audiobook was a delight from beginning to end. I highly recommend it to fans of character-driven mysteries with heart, humor, and plenty of intrigue.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to and review this pre-release, which was just released April 1, 2025.

If you are a fan of Only Murders in the Building then this is a book you are going to want to devour. With some similar actions of the show one can visualize the whole story in your minds eye. The twist and turns the author puts in makes it captivating and hard to put down. This would be an amazing start to a new series.

Only Murders In the Building meets Hitchcock's Rear Window. I loved this. A cracking cast of characters, a community you can relate to, and an intriguing murder mystery to boot!

I enjoyed Audrey’s character arc. I enjoyed getting to know Lewis as well, but was suspicious of him the whole book. The square sounds like the perfect place to live, where do we sign up? A light mystery with interesting characters and neighbors. I never guessed the twists!

I quite enjoyed this cozy mystery. I think this was a great debut and I hope that the author writes some more novels.
I think the only thing that didn't put this at a 5 ⭐ for me was the pacing and it felt a little confusing at times. However, I think if this is the author's first book, the subsequent book(s) can and will be just as good, if not better.
I did enjoy the narration of this book and would have given another star if the pacing had been a little quicker, but I also like a little faster pacing in my books, so don't let that deter you from trying this cute, witty, and engaging cozy mystery.

Absolutely loved this read!
The characters are perfect!
I can never say no to a good apartment mystery.
I love it when people are thrown together for the sake of the mystery.
So cozy without being cheesy and so mysterious without being graphic.
If you need a feel good murder mystery, put this on your list!
Will totally be looking for more from this author!
Thank you netgalley for the arc!

I enjoyed this so much! Fab bunch of characters, 3 murders, and a dog named Muffin in a great novel which will have you wondering who dunnit until the last page. I got a copy of the audiobook from netgalley and the publisher, and I laughed, I teared up, I gasped, and I felt like I was part of Only Murders in the Building, London edition. Amazing! The narrator did a great job bringing the characters into life too!

Really enjoyed following Audrey and Lewis on their journey to find who murdered their neighbor! This is a great book for cozy mystery readers and the Only Murders in the Building show! My only complaint is that it felt a little too long, and it was sometimes hard to keep track of who is who. I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a fantastic job! Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for the ARC!

10 Marchfield Square is a thoroughly enjoyable read—charming, gently humorous, and quietly compelling. The atmosphere is richly comforting, evoking the best traditions of the cozy mystery genre without feeling derivative. The characters are delightfully eccentric yet entirely believable, their quirks adding color rather than caricature. While the mystery itself is relatively straightforward, the storytelling is deft and engaging, making it a genuinely satisfying experience. A perfect choice for readers seeking a well-crafted escape with heart and intelligence.

I enjoyed 10 Marchfield Square overall. It's an entertaining whodunit with a compelling mystery at its core. The setting and characters pulled me in, and I appreciated the classic murder mystery vibe. While I didn’t love every aspect, especially the pacing, which felt a bit too slow in parts, the story still held my interest. I’d definitely consider reading a second book if one is published. There's potential here, and I'm curious to see where the author goes next!
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the chance to listen to this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

The tenants of 10 Marchfield Square finds themselves with a dead body on their hands. The square's owner, Celeste, tasks Audrey (a cleaner by trade) and Lewis (a former best selling writer now in recruitment) to get conduct their own investigation because she doesn't trust the police. Audrey and Lewis make an enjoyably awkward pair who aren't sure about the other but eventually find their own shorthand and ways of sussing out and following up on clues. Their personal differences and idiosyncrasies made them excellent foils for one another and watching them become partners in crime solving and friends was charming. The other residents of the square all play their parts nicely and I loved learning about them and how they all fit into the mystery.
The narration was well done and enhanced my enjoyment of the story. I was also a fan of the pacing and the way clues and relevant information was doled out; it kept me guessing till the end.
