This was a pretty okay read for me. I enjoyed the storyline and characters. Loved seeing their growth as the story went on, but I wasn't hooked enough to give it a four-star. It took some time to get into the characters as much as I would have liked to. I do however see me reading more from this author.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

I am sorry for the inconvenience but I wasn't able to download this before it archived. Sadly I won't be able to review.

Having met and loved CJ Duggan as a person, I was a little anxious to read her books. Many readers whom I love and respect have been extremely vocal about their love for her words and worlds, and in some ways this made me even more nervous. What if I didn't like it? What if she asked me directly?
By my benchmark of 38% of the book, I was into a rhythm. I won't lie and say this grabbed me from the first chapter, but it was a slow burn; a creeping ninja that made me think I wasn't hooked, when in actual fact I was. I do love a story about a good girl gone bad, and the fact that Lexie had her own doubts and imperfections made her all the more relatable. Having realistic flaws in her characters makes CJ's writing more authentic, and allows us as a reader to feel alongside them, rather than being told how we are supposed to feel. And this definitely had feels . . . just "younger" than I was hoping for.
When it came to the romantic elements of the book, I was left feeling somewhat cheated. I loved the slow burn element to Lexie and Luke's romance, I didn't feel the same chemistry that has kept me hooked in other books in this genre. I've heard that CJ is typically very skilled in the New Adult genre, but this story felt distinctly more Young Adult.
The ending was also not what I usually look for in a book, but it certainly guarantees that those who loved the story will be clamouring for more!

I thought this was a very young, immature look at a romance in high school. The heroine was immature and flighty and none of the characters seemed fleshed out. The only thing they did was insult each other and then flip and flop on their feelings.

Thanks for the chance to read this one. Unfortunately, I never really got into it and thus won't be rating or reviewing.
