I loved this book, faced paced and very gripping. I am not normally a fan of a time jump split narrative, but it worked really well for this story, to hear Katrina as the mother and Cleo as the daughter’s perspectives. In fact it just made me want to read faster. Whilst being flawed, I cared about the characters, and as I learnt more about Katrina’s childhood, I only cared more about them both. I looked forward to reading it, raced through it, a really great read!

Mother-daughter interactions can often be fraught, and Cleo's relationship with her hyper organized lawyer mother Kat is no exception. But when her mother suddenly disappears, leaving behind probable evidence of a violent altercation of some sort, Cleo begins to deeply regret the shortcomings in their communication.

Because while she is searching for Kat, Cleo becomes increasingly aware of just how many secrets about her past her mother has kept to herself over the decades.

And what Cleo also doesn't know is that her mother will do anything to protect her, however high the cost of doing so. And Kat might have to do just that...

Kimberly McCreight is a fantastic writer, and she proves it yet again in this story. I loved it and recommend it highly.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and the journey it took you on. There were some hard hitting relationship elements along with the mystery of what has happened. A nice surprising twist to the ending.

Unfortunately this story was poorly written with a lot of spelling errors from the start leaving me unable to understand what the actual story was. Such a shame as the blurb seemed really interesting- hopefully when the story is released it is proof read again to correct all errors.

A very enjoyable novel. The premise was enough to grip me and the sheer beauty of the story kept me engaged.

I really enjoyed the narrative of the difficulties of motherhood and the skilful way the author made me feel as if I knew these people.

Finally this is a masterclass in pacing, there’s not a moment to spare and you will feel that too.

This is a fast paced, who done it, mystery thriller that has you hooked from the get go!!

The story is read between 2 POV and helps you dive in each character and get invested in the story! With a troubled past and a troubled relationship between mother and daughter this story keeps you on your toes until the very end!!

A gripping read with lots of twists and high tension focussing on motherhood and the complexities of familial relationships.
Cleo and Kat were both compelling characters and the story is well told, although in this proof copy there were spelling mistakes and missing words that took away from the reading flow. In a final proofread copy it is a great story waiting to be discovered!

I loved the sound of this book and overall was an engaging storyline.
Sadly the terrible grammar did spoil it a little for me.
Interesting and a good ending.

Cleo a young college student arrives at her mother's house for an arranged dinner only to find her missing leaving behind only a single bloodied shoe.

I enjoyed seeing how this book unravelled and it definitely kept me wanting to read more. I did find it a bit of a slow burner to start but then became increasingly absorbed the more I read.

I'd recommend this book if you enjoy mystery books and a who done it.

Like Mother, Like Daughter follows Cleo after she arrives at her childhood house in Brooklyn at the request of her mother, Katrina, only to find signs of a struggle. Cleo is a carefree student who resents her mother's seemingly perfect facade -a multimillionaire lawyer who's married to handsome Aiden. In a second timeline, Katrina tells us about the events that lead to the fatidic event and most importantly, who she really is. The two POVs alternate with additional therapist sessions, legal paperwork, journal entries, and witness accounts. Whatever happened to Katrina? Did she leave or was she taken?

This psychological thriller contains very dark themes, but they're told in a respectful way. I love that explores the relationship between mother and daughter so well. As a daughter, what if you discovered your mother isn't who you thought she was? As a mother, what if your troubled daughter was similar to you in ways you could never imagine?

I guessed the whereabouts of Katrina straight away as there's a huge giveaway hiding in plain sight, so to me the ending was very satisfying. Well played! As for the story itself, I really enjoyed trying to figure out who the villian was and how all the storylines tied up together. The subplot with Katrina and Aiden was super intriguing, I kept going back and forth about him, especially after finding out about "that". Oh boy do I loathe Aiden! he's such a loser but, is he capable of harming Katrina? Suffice to say I suspected everyone at every turn of events, but I wasn't expecting THAT twist. WOW! The ending was shocking, I'm speechless!

This one dives deep into motherhood and all its messy, painful, beautiful complexities.
The prologue alone hits deep - terrifyingly accurate, painfully real.

Plot-wise, it was solid. The alternating POVs worked really well.
The first 40% felt a bit slow, and Cleo’s frustration with her mom was intense - borderline suffocating at times.
But once more of Kat’s story started to unfold, the tone shifted and I was hooked. I flew through the rest.

I had a hunch about who was behind it all and was half right, which always dampens the twist for me a bit. That said, there was an extra little turn right near the end that gave it a nice boost.
The ending felt slightly rushed, but it still landed well.

Overall, a satisfying read. The thriller/mystery element was strong, but the heart of the book is the mother-daughter relationship. It was emotional, complex and really beautifully written.
As a mom myself, it was both moving and slightly terrifying - especially with a toddler at home and all the fun still ahead…

I really loved the sound of this book but had to stop reading due to so many missing words and spelling errors. The part I did read was intriguing but I just couldn’t continue although I will try again once the book is released.

The book was okay, the dual pov was interesting ALTHOUGH at times it could be hard to follow.

GET your seat belt on because it is such a fast and twisty plot! I was immediately pulled in and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! The ending was so unexpected it was truly amazing!

If you are looking for a fast-paced, binge-worthy psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, READ THIS BOOK! I don't think I will EVER stop raving about ‘Like Mother, Like Daughter’

I never saw the end of this book coming. It was fast-paced and kept me enthralled throughout right up until the very last page!
