Full transparency.... these look delicious and make me think I could totally do vegan/vegetarian but I'm probably still going to add meat to mine. The images in this cookbook are stunning and drool worthy. I haven't been this excited for a salad in a long time!!

I liked a lot about this book but it didn't always seem easy or look so delicious that I had to try it. I think I would enjoy a lot of these recipes though.

It was trying too hard to be vegan, despite claiming to be a plant-based recipe book...
The salad dressing section was the best part of the book, but there were a few recipes that caught my eye, mainly Summer Elote Pasta Salad, Spring Roll Salad, and The Zen Bowl.
Thank you to Netgalley for giving me an eARC of this cookbook.

Life-Changing Salads by Danielle Brown is a fantastic cookbook for plant-powered salad lovers.
I expected this book to be pretty similar to other salad cookbooks I own and have read, but it is truly amazing and true to its title. This cookbook has so many recipes that are approachable with easy-to-find ingredients for busy home cooks and anyone who wants to focus on plant-based protein that you can easily whip up and eat it with main meals or as a main meal! I started dog-earring the recipes and stopped since it was pretty much entire collections in the book!
I love that each recipe has its own picture to show readers what the end result looks like - vibrant colors, just beautiful photos and you just want to run to kitchen and start cooking. Not only it is chock full of great recipes, but also it gives you many options of dressing you can choose from. How awesome is that! I have tried a few recipes from the book and they all have been wonderful. So good, I'll put them on rotation... until I discover more.
This cookbook is truly life-changing with a little bit of exaggeration, but really, it is easily my number 1 salad cookbook and is hard to beat. Highly recommend!

When I first realized that Life-Changing Salads: 100 Plant-Based Salads and Dressings Beyond Your Wildest Greens is a vegan cookbook, I was very disappointed, since vegan is not a diet that my family and I like. However, after reading through the book, I found it was easy to substitute non-vegan ingredients to make the recipes in the book. Because almost everyone loves salads, especially in the summertime, I decided to give this book a chance and make salads from this cookbook with my own changes. The author, Danielle Brown, who is the brains behind the blog, Healthy Girl Kitchen, has included dozens of mouthwatering (sans vegan ingredients with subs for regular ingredients) salads that are very appealing.
The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions that make the recipes very easy to follow, for both beginning cooks and advanced cooks. Brown has a good imagination, and there are dozens of yummy salads that will be great as side dish or main dish salads at any family dinner or get-together. The salads include vegetable salads, grain based salads, and fruit salads, as well as miscellaneous salads. Many of the recipes are similar to everyday salads that have gone through communities and are go-to salads; Brown has just adjusted the recipes to make them vegan (which in many cases is a travesty against our favorite foods).
One of the best parts of the cookbook is that there are beautiful, professional photographs of almost all of the recipes, making them seem even more mouthwatering.
All told, if you’re vegan, you’ll want to pick up this book immediately. If you’re not, but are good at substituting vegan ingredients and adapting recipes to your lifestyle, you may want to pick up this cookbook.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

This was ok. It has a lot of great recipes but it wasn't anything that you can't find online. It is convenient to have it all in one book though.

This salad cookbook had great pictures and a variety of types of Vegan salads. I am sure if you do not follow a vegan lifestyle that all of these salads could be swapped per tastes. I am nit sure that there was anything new in these but it's always great to look at cookbooks for inspiration.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

This vegan cookbook is polished and full of vibrant, photo-ready salads, but the claims of life-changing recipes feel a little overhyped. Still, if you’re looking for aesthetic plant-based ideas with a strong focus on styling and presentation, this might be a good choice.

Had a good number of different kinds of salads. Good choice for different tastes. The salads were divided into different categories making it easy to find what your taste preference is.

I wouldn't consider any of the recipes in here 'life changing'. It's a solid cookbook for healthy salads/bowls, but the name is definitely misleading.

This a nice looking cookbook with engaging photos and an easy layout to follow. Some of the recipes also stretch the name "salad" a bit. This is a cookbook for new chefs, those not familiar with making salads, or those new to plant based eating. If those categories are what you are looking for then this could be a book to try.

"Life-Changing Salads is more than just a cookbook—it’s your ultimate guide to creating satisfying, plant-based salads that you'll crave. From crunchy chopped salads to cozy warm bowls, hearty salad wraps, quinoa powerhouses, and even no-lettuce salads (perfect for meal prep), every salad situation is covered!"
OK confession time: I'm not a salad girl. Whenever my family went to a buffet (or as they were called back in the day a smörgåsbord") we collectively skipped the salad bar and went straight to the hot food. As an adult I'm trying to expand my palate but I'm always stuck on salads. This book actually had lots of ideas that make me want to try them! Unbelievable! I'm particularly interested in the warm salads and the chapter on dressings. Lots of beautiful photos and easy to follow instructions make this a salad cookbook I may actually use!
I received a free ebook copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

My life was not changed. This wasn’t a cookbook for me. I’m not vegan so maybe that’s my issue. I don’t know I won’t be posting anywhere else because I think it’s a personal taste thing

Thank you netgalley for this book. I felt the title is misleading and don’t consider my life changed after this book.

Great book for all those that want to break away from the common garden or Caesar salad. Big variety of ingredients, step ups, and dressings. The pictures are beautiful and the instructions are simple. I am looking forward to trying out a few of these delicious salads.

This is a wonderful cookbook full of creative and interesting vegan salads. I have a lot of food allergies, so it's always nice to find a new cookbook that has salad recipes in it that I can actually eat!

I guess I should have read the description better. Great for people that are vegan and looking for salad ideas that aren't just lettuce and carrrots. The pictures were stunning and the recipes looked great. It just wasn't what I thought it was going to be. But, that's on me.

I would recommend this book to patrons who are interested in vegan cookbooks. I think it will also be of interest to patrons interested in salads in general. I appreciate that all the recipes had pictures.
I might be in the minority, but an avocado and chickpea salad sounds much more appetizing than a fake tuna salad. I often see vegan recipes marketed as faux-meat recipes. I would love to see them marketed as what they are, so I don't have to wonder what the ingredients might actually be.

I would not necessarily call any of these salads life changing. I honestly expected a bigger focus on organic or clean eating. A vegan diet is fine until you think about all of the pesticides used.

I love this cookbook! First off, it has a photo for EVERY recipe, which is a must-have. I absolutely judge a recipe by its photo and let me tell you, the photos in this cookbook are GORGEOUS. So many yummy looking salads, ranging from fruit salad to pasta salad. Most have tons of ingredients that will keep you full - they’re hearty, not wimpy. And all vegan, if that’s your thing! Though I might add some chicken or feta to some of mine. You do you boo.
Recipes I’m super excited to try: elote pasta salad, hemp ceasar pasta salad, buffalo “chicken” salad (with tofu), and the green vibes only salad. I love that each one states how long it will last in the fridge too.
Time to get cookin!
