I had a great time !
It's a well executed and fast paced thriller. I liked the main character a lot and the idea of having the her going back to the events because of a movie adaptation, and i also really liked her way to interact with the other characters.
The plot kept my interest at all times, and I feel
like this book can appeal to a lot of people, there is is a bit of everything without trying too hard.
Thank you Union Square & Co. for this ARC!

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC of In Deadly Company by L.S. Stratton
In Deadly Company is a thriller that blends workplace satire with a murder mystery. Nicole Underwood is a top-tier executive assistant who knows how to survive entitled man-children, namely her boss. But when he winds up dead at his own Gatsby-level birthday party, Nicole walks away alive—but not unscathed. A year later, she’s a consultant on a Hollywood film dramatizing the weekend that shattered her life only to find that truth is not what the cameras are after, and that someone still wants to control the narrative. The story is told with dual timelines and multiple POVs, slowly peeling back the layers of who really had motive.

I stared of reading this is small pieces and then I got engulfed buy the story and by the time I got to the reveals I was SHOOK and I just didn't want to put the book down. I swear I knew who'd done it and why. How wrong I was. Enjoyed the book.
Reading this reminded me why I can't work in corporate. Reading this ARC hoping that they don't make any changes to the print that will be coming out soon. I really enjoy the story as is.

This one was juicy to the very last page I love this author work I have read everything by her and was not disappointed with this I will be recommending this one

Thank you to NetGalley and Union Square and Co for this ARC. I really enjoyed this one and liked the characters. I especially enjoyed the different POVs.

Fast-paced with a strong twist, but weighed down by a slow, filler subplot. The Nicole-Jeremiah romance feels forced and unexplained. Some plot points—like faking a death and the careless villain—stretch believability. Nicole’s late judgment of Bridget feels off. Daniel’s role is confusing and underdeveloped. Entertaining but uneven.

For this to be my introduction to mystery/dark comedy, I loved this book and, as someone who reads a lot of thrillers and horrors, it was a great break from the intensity that can sometimes come with the genre.
Nicole is truly gifted- good looks, a great job, and a salary that affords her a NYC apartment, but she’s ready to walk away from it all just to free herself from Xander. Xander is the spoiled Nepo-baby of Bridget, the CEO of Altruist, who recently died in a suspicious accident.
Unwilling to do anything for himself, Xander insists that Nicole plan his birthday party. She reluctantly agrees when she realizes that this party could be the perfect stage for her to gather all the people she thinks may have had something to do with Bridget’s death in one place. Little does she know, this will literally be a killer weekend and even her secrets won’t be safe.
I thought this was a great who-done-it with past and present POV’s that made the story more intriguing. I wasn’t able to catch on to the plot twists until they were literally right in my face.

Unfortunately, the plot was quite predictable and overall while the vibes were there they just didn’t match my reading preference at all.

I was intrigued while reading this book and read it pretty fast. However, everything and the twist was predictable, in my opinion (especially if you read a lot of mysteries). I liked the premise and it being a mixture of Knives Out and White Lotus though!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

In Deadly Company is part murder mystery, part business thriller, and tells the story of Nicole Underwood, assistant to the insufferable CEO of Altruist Corporation, Xander Chambers. We learn that multiple murders occurred over the weekend of Xander’s big birthday bash at Maple Grove, and a movie is now being filmed, based on these events. Nicole works onset as a consultant in the present timeline, while the narrative of what occurred at Maple Grove is recounted in the past, from several different perspectives.
This book has a lot going on, and honestly, I’m here for it! I really enjoyed this, and I feel like there’s a lot for readers to latch onto. There’s humor, romance, action, lots of tension and suspense, and even a great twist - that I did not see coming one bit. The author mentioned being inspired by the show Succession. I’d imagine fans of that show would especially enjoy this as well, though I believe it does have something for everyone. Four stars!
