Mr Moore writes well -- and fast, I'm afraid. As a reluctant draftee who rose through the tanks from Private E-1 to Specialist 3rd Class (a corporal without command authority), I find myself gritting my teeth at his sympathy for the hardships suffered by his pilot/officers. The poor souls at one point have to live in a one-story wooden barrack with a centrally-placed "heater-furnace". In other words, a standard infantry barrack, but not nearly as crowded. I'm going to persevere, though, and will almost certainly review it in my November update to the Warbird's Forum.
