Following high school sweethearts that had a kid too young, and divorced going their separate way. They decided to go on a trip together to their kid’s college when their kid goes off to college. He plans an extensive trip and they end up talking and reminding each other of all the good times they had together and wonder why they let the few bad times win sending them in delegate directions.
After a “scheduling” error at a hotel then end up in each other’s arms.

This is definitely my favorite book by Tarah DeWitt, she makes you root for them to get back together SMS hoping that love wins.

I could not put this book down! For 36 hours, I was consumed by this book. This second-chance romance delivered on everything and more. Rather than two people trying to shove old pieces back together, Wren and Ellis find that they can be something new and wonderful.

I was able to get the audiobook from NetGalley and the narrators were fantastic. It took me longer to listen to that normal because I wanted to savor it.

I think this is my new favorite from this author. Wren and Ellis were impossible not to root for, even though I am usually not a fan of second chance romances, this one was pitch perfect. It was funny, charming, heartwarming, and beautifully written. I hope we see more of the Bird family in the future.

I loved this book! The characters and setting were super fleshed out. There were so many good quotes that made me want to cry so hard. I docked half a point because I was not a fan of the spice *minor spoiler alert* starting post-cooking class. I was just not a fan of that scene and the way the spice was written after that.

audiobook narrators were everything - they really captured each of the characters and their personalities so well. highly recommend!

I’m not sure I’ve read many books where the couple is divorced. I was so invested in Wren and Ellis’a romance. They’ve been divorced for about five years but they are both harboring feelings for one another. They’re coming to a major turning point in their relationship as co-parents as their son graduates from high school and won’t need them as much. They agree to go on a trip together to see if they want to attempt to rekindle their relationship.

This was so tender and the best kind of slow burn. They had so much tension built up after years apart. I loved seeing their friends and family from Spoons, especially Sage and Fisher. I loved how their son, friends and family all meddled with their trip and were obviously rooting for them. I also loved how they talked through so many of their past issues and addressed things like going to therapy.

I adored this and really hope we get more books from Spoons and Tarah DeWitt!

I am convinced that Tarah Dewitt should be a household name. The talent. The word choice. The ability to hold you in the palm of her hand while she breaks your heart and rebuilds it. Second chance perfection!

This book was utter perfection - an over five stars for me, and I will be accepting no criticism. I love, love, loved these two and their second chance after divorce so much. I thought there was stellar growth and reflection from these characters. I liked the honesty and vulnerability. I liked how DeWitt explored the idea of knowing someone so well, yet after time apart, there's new things to get to know. Wren and Ellis were easy to root for. It was a joy to spend this time with them, and I don't know that I have much more besides gushing about how perfect it was for me. I will definitely be seeing her when she's in St. Louis on tour.
The narration here was also excellent. Both narrators brought them to life, and I loved how their performances.

Ellis came up with a plan for a road trip for he and Wren.

Things don’t go quite as planned and it turns out to be quite the adventure.

This is a second chance romance about a divorced couple, Wren and Ellis, in their 30’s, living in Spunes Oregon. They met, fell in love, and had a baby boy, Sam, when they were very young. Even though they got divorced, you know that they never stopped loving each other. When they take their son to college, Ellis suggests that they take an extended trip up the California coast, back to Spunes to see if they can rekindle their relationship. These characters are the best. I loved how sweet and real they were. I loved watching them go through things that had hurt them in the past, and really try to change and make things work again.

I went with the audiobook for this and it was perfect. The narrators truly brought these characters to life with the way they executed the emotions. I absolutely love this book. You'll definitely want to pick this up when it comes out.

I'm in the minority here - but this was just okay. I couldn't really get into the story, or believe that she couldn't realize it was his writing.

The characters were good, the plot was good, but there was something about the execution of it that just didn't do it for me ..

I usually don't go for second-chance books, but knowing Tarah DeWitt's writing, I wanted to try Left of Forever. I met Ellis and Wren in Savor It already, and I was curious how they would fix their problems. I'm so happy that I was curious, because this book was perfect. I loved reading about their struggles and how they overcame those, having a kid at such an early age, but still being perfect parents to their son. This book was emotional, sad, very funny, and heartwarming all at once (and spicy wink wink). I loved every second of it. I loved seeing people we know from previous books popping up on the page. And I sure loved Ellis Byrd.

My favorite quote from the book was "All I know is that if I find out heaven was real and got there first, I'd hang back in the waiting room and save you a seat."

I said last year that Savor It was one of my top 3 books of the year so it’s always a little worrisome if a second book will stand on its own as great in a series of interconnected standalones. Look, I know Tarah DeWitt had to have lived some of the stuff in this book because so have I and when I tell you it felt like she had reached into my brain and put my feelings on paper I am not even being dramatic. And I know how that sounds before I even write this next sentence… This may be my favorite contemporary romance of all time. But it’s that good. Second chance romance always feels a little kitschy to me because it just seems so unrealistic. This did not. It was raw and real and showed two people who had to work through all the stuff that hurt them the first time around. It shows that sometimes people who have loved each other their whole lives still find it hard to have the hard, often life altering conversations. Tarah managed to do all this with the road trip trope. She is magic I tell you.

Audio was fantastic Connor Crais and Megan Wicks nailed this one. It isn’t true duet narration but also half way is? Regardless I know I’ll be comfort listening to this one for years to come.

Narrated by Connor Crais and Megan Wicks, did such a great job narrating this book. You couldn't have picked better narrator for Ellis and Wren. Whichever format you read this book you will not be disappointed. 100% recommend.

This book is a masterpiece. The way I love Wren and Ellis, their relationship, their love and just everything about their entire story. They had me in tears a couple times. These two are soulmates and truly meant a beautiful happily ever after. Falling in love, getting pregnant at a young age, Ellis having to take care of his siblings and ultimately Wren stepping up too, being parents and all the other things in life really put them through it. Despite getting a divorce, these two never stopped loving each other. Ellis is the best dad, so sweet, swoony, a caretaker and has the biggest heart. Wren is a sweetheart, a great mom and loves fiercely. I loved the way Ellis was determined to get his girl back and the things he did to show her he was all in. He had me falling for him right along with Wren again it was so dang sweet. They were able to connect again, open up about the good and the bad, communicate and find that love for each other again that truly never went away. This story displays the good, bad, raw and real emotions of marriage. Their growth is perfect and the story is just overall one you will fall in love with.

The audio was perfection for this story. The way Megan Wicks and Connor Crais brought the characters to life and the emotion in their voices. This is defiantly a story and audio I will go back to and reread!

Left of Forever by Tarah Dewitt is a second chance romance about a divorced couple finding each other again after 4+ years. It’s the first time I’ve ever really seen this trope done well. We are shown clear and believable reasons why the marriage broke down. We are also shown how these two are made for each other and belong together, and how they work to do things differently this time. Their relationship is quite beautiful by the end. As a woman who married and had a baby young, like the FMC, this really spoke to me. I loved their story. The audiobook narration was perfect and kept me in the story the whole time.

I was already in love with this book when I got the ALC and wow. I am floored by how perfect these narrators are for Wren and Ellis!! I cannot think of anyone I'd rather narrate this masterpiece. Like, Megan Wicks IS Wren Byrd!! They both brought this story TO LIFE and it will forever be a comfort listen for me.

Holy holy shit this really was perfect and worth ALL the hype it's getting! Tarah's best yet!!! I absolutely love the interconnected moments with Savor It and The Co-Op! It happens so naturally and just warms my insides! Second Chance is arguably my favorite trope so I may be a little biased here but I just love the history and knowing and pining that comes with second chances! And Left of Forever was done so beautifully- it just felt so perfect for Wren and Ellis to come back to each other again at this point in their lives.

While on their road trip of re-discovery, they get to have fun together, try new things, learn new things, and deal with things that hurt them in the past. As a married person, I just loved seeing the re-kindling and maturity between Wren and Ellis. I do wish we could have had even more glimpses into their past, as the ones we got felt pretty vague and short. I felt like the reason why they ended their marriage was pretty brief. I think it would have added so much more to their story and the yearning they felt.

I know Tarah wrote this book as reflection of her own life, getting married before being fully developed, and I relate to that 100%, plus add in a high demand religion and a couple kids. That is why this story hit so close to home for me. It reminded me why it was so easy to lose myself in a relationship and new role. But it also inspired me to always hold on to hope for the life I want and always dreamed of.

I think lovers of You've Got Mail and The Notebook will love Left of Forever by one of my favorite authors, Tarah DeWitt. Thank you Macmillan Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review!

I have to say at the beginning of this book, I was not sure how to feel. It was a little drawn out and kind of all over the place that I could not focus on the story. HOWEVER by the second half of the book I was excited, into and really rooting for Wren and Elise to get back together. The trip really took the book in the best direction and I was very happy with the ending! The book was definitely a good 3/5 stars! i will never recover from this book, i fear.

this novel ripped out my heart and put it back together. i LOVE a good second chance romance - and this was beyond a good one. the absolute yearning these 2 main characters had for each other was perfectly executed.

i found ellis + wren to be so perfect in the way they were flawed. they were just so... raw, real, and vulnerable as characters. i feel like this book actually left me speechless. tarah was able to touch on some tough topics with this one, and she handled it beautifully. it was such a balanced story, with just the right amount of humor.

i also must compliment how wonderful the narration was! connor crais is always one of my favorite narrators, but him and megan wicks' voices worked together so well. she is a new to me narrator that i will definitely check out more from. i feel like they really were able to express the emotions of the story SO well, and this audiobook had me crying more than a few times.

I read this as an e-arc & rates it infinity stars for its raw, beautiful perspective on second-chance romance // growing up & out of love.

The audiobook took it to the next level. The Fmc’s raspy, seductive voice?! Incredible. ELLIS? Sir you sent me overboard. The audiobook just gave it the extra emotion that I didn’t have inside of my head. I loved every second.

The wedding speech at the end will never fail to make me SOB.

I’LL SAVE THIS BOOK THE BEST SEAT ON MY BOOKSHELF. 10/10
