Review to come to blog/other places closer to the release day.
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
Before I begin, sorry Sad Nuggie, but despite having had lunch just now, I was definitely getting hungry seeing you all your friends. I just love chicken nuggets.
In this adorable, and sometimes a bit too sad for me but that is due to my mental health at the moment not being the best, comic we learn about a nugget named Sad Nuggie. Sad Nuggie is starting a new life at a new city and well, Sad Nuggie always had problems with their mental health as we can see throughout the book but things are getting more and more with all the new stuff and new things he is trying out. I loved that despite SN feeling so anxious, sad, depressed at times he did went out to do new things, get groceries, meet up with friends, and other things. There are days that he just cannot do anything (and I can relate) but I love that it isn't always. I was definitely rooting for this little guy and hoping that his mental health would have more and more happy days. Make Sad Nuggie Happy Nuggie! I am also happy that Sad Nuggie has a therapist who is there for him.
I loved how each chapter is about different things. From settling in his new place to finding a job to the weekend and others.
I want to go to that wax museum as well and get those souvenirs, they were so cute!
The art was fun, however I am not sure if I liked that Sad Nuggie always had tears in their eyes. It made it really hard for me to see if he was happy or sad. Some moments were obvious but others I was like is he crying again? Is he sad? I guess it is part of the brand/character but for me it would just have worked better if when he smiled he would lose those tears.
All in all, I did like this one. It may not always have been the easiest read because it hit close home, but I am happy I got the chance to try it!

This adorable and funny comic collection follows Nuggie, a little chicken nugget navigating anxiety and everyday struggles. From moving to a new city to dating, career stress and going to therapy, Nuggie’s journey is really relatable and heartwarming. The illustrations are so cute and this is a perfect short read for anyone dealing with anxiety or loneliness - it's comforting and it will definitely make you smile!

My goodness, this was adorable. Sad Nuggie is so relatable and funny, and beautifully illustrated. He is all of us, I fear, and this book was surprisingly comforting to read. Very enjoyable and I hope there will be more!
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC, all opinions are my own.

Sad Nuggie: Life is Sweet and Sour might just be the cutest self help book I have ever seen, with the eponymous character moving to a new city and trying to take steps to improve his quality of life. The adorable illustrations convey so much emotion wordlessly , and the depiction of anxiety was spot on. This book will be very relatable to a lot of people and I am already making a list of the people I know who need Sad Nuggie in their life.
I read and reviewed an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher, all opinions are my own.

Aw, Sad Nuggie is just doing his best! This book is adorable, and you root for Nuggie as he tries to find his people. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Nuggie is just like me for real 😭 Adorable comics about living life with anxiety and all the fun that comes with moving to a new city and trying new things - my heart broke for nuggie when they dropped their icecream!

I received an ARC copy through Netgalley and all thoughts are my own. I learned about Sad Nuggie from TickTock and love it so much. When I saw the little comic I knew I had to read it. Such a cute little story and so relatable. Very accurately represented anxiety

It's so funny and so relatable. I felt seen by Sad Nuggie because I felt almost the same with them the entire book.
The idea of nuggets as characters in the book was so good. The illustrations were exceptionally good and cute.
Thank you to Sad Nuggie, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and NetGalley for the ARC.

Not only was this book super cute, but Sad Nuggie is sooo relatable! I will be buying copies for my close friends who also need a little Sad Nuggie in their lives. The illustrations were perfect!

I had no idea what Sad Nuggie was until I stumbled upon this book but when I saw how adorable he was I knew I needed to read it!
For starters, the art in this book is excellent through and through. The quality is great and so many of these pages could easily make a good print for a wall. My favorite was the Chicken Nugget Affirmations to Get You Through Your Work Week.
The story is simple enough but very relatable. And paired with the cute art, this book is going to be so giftable too!
Struggling with anxiety or depression or stress? Well so is Sad Nuggie.
I do have to admit I was a little confused when he had a box of chicken nuggets to eat though... But I'm not the creator so what do I know?
Overall this was a super cute graphic novel that is definitely worth checking out!
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Who would’ve thought I would relate to a nugget? But like it just gets me. And the art style is so cute.

It's a cute and quick comic about the hardship of daily life. Everyone can read it and the illustrations are nice. I feel like it's not particularly original, as there are many similar comics that deal with mental health problems, so it doesn't really stand out

I've never related to chicken nuggets more in my entire life than I do right now! I see you Nuggie and I'm right there with you.
This book is as cute as it is relatable. There isn't much to the book, it's literally a comic strip about a chicken nugget who is just trying to make it through life. But at the same time, it's probably going to make you feel better or at the very least validate feelings about your own issues.
It's cute, it's punny, adorably illustrated, simply written and quick to read. So honestly there's no reason you shouldn't grab it.

4/5 stars! Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this eARC of Sad Nuggie - Life is Sweet and Sour by Sad Nuggie (lol).
I got this book in the "read now" section and I'm glad I did. Super short and cute story of a Sad Nuggie just making it through..adulthood? very cute illustrations to follow and something of the things that you can related to a being an adult. Super cute and this would be the type of books that I would buy for my friends because of my sad/depressing humor. haha.

This was my intro to Sad Nuggie and I really enjoyed the cute illustrations. Some of the little stories left me a little sad when things consistently didn’t work out for Nuggie, but I guess that’s pretty relatable. Overall a quick and fun read.

Super cute addition to the sad nuggie world, but can’t hold a candle to the videos. Gotta love sad nuggie in therapy!

thank you so much netgalley for the arc
I've always loved the posts on social media this author posted and reading this was the cutest thing ever
always so relatable and funny

thank you so much netgalley for the arc
such a cute and funny and relatable story! i hope to read more from the author

Can I just give Nuggie a big hug?
Thank you to the illustrator for bringing us Sad Nuggie. It does show that we are not alone in how we feel.
The art is amazingly cute and the stories recognizable and uplifting.

I really enjoy the sad nuggie comics. I follow sad nuggie on social media, but it's nice to see the book and see comics I missed or weren't posted for the book.
I felt the struggle of getting stuck by a mattress. I was almost trapped like that when moving.
These comics are so short and capture the smaller moments in life in a surprising way. These tiny moments are often missed or just so common that they get skipped over.
Cheer on Nuggie and yourself with this little book.
