This is an unbelievably adorable comic about an anxious and stressed-out Sad Nuggie, whose incredibly relatable day-to-day life feels like a minor catastrophe, but he keeps on keeping on.

The illustrations are wonderfully detailed, bright, and colorful. It touches on themes like anxiety and strong emotions that resonate deeply. At times it's funny, sometimes it's sad... There's so much happening, it feels like the comic never ends.

Never thought I would relate so much to a little blob of fried goodness! Sad Nuggie: Life is Sweet and Sour is a collection of every day experiences through lens of a very anxious little chicken nugget. The scenarios are so spot on, and the reactions are both hilarious and heartfelt. You get the good, the bad and the funny all in one little breaded package. The illustrations were adorable and you could feel Nuggies' through it's expressions! Would definitely recommend this little gem to anyone who could use a laugh!

Thank you to Netgalley, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and Anastasia Sevastyanova for this e-ARC!

A quick read for anyone looking for something light-hearted!

Sad Nuggie goes through many relatable situations while often feeling stressed and/or depressed: from being overwhelmed at work to feeling anxious about dating and everything in between. Sad Nuggie also goes to therapy to talk about these situations. They are actively trying their best at life, just like we all are.
With adorable illustrations and puns, this was a good read.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I almost gave it a 4 stars on the artwork and general cuteness alone (it's right up my vibe), but in good conscience, I gave it a 4 because I would have like a little bit more in terms of story and content. Still worth a peruse overall I think, and I'd probably still read more content with this character if available.

I was not prepared for sad nuggie to see me in so many ways. A great book for those who are suffering from or want to understand adults with anxiety and depression.

It's cutesy so it doesn't get too heavy which is nice, even in the moments when you can feel nuggie headed for a breakdown.

Side note: nuggie eats a lot of chicken, is nuggie a cannibal? The world will have to decide.

A really adorable comic about Sad Nuggie, an anxious, introverted chicken nugget who has trouble making friends and doing chores and goes to therapy but is trying his best to enrich his life.

It feels like Sad Nuggie is basically a mirror to my life to a scary degree (just kidding, but not really). It was all really relatable and funny, also a little sad when something unfortunate happened, but I really enjoyed this. It’s mostly illustrations, simple but detailed, with little text, but definitely with more appeal to adults (probably those just starting to figure out adult life) than kids. Sad Nuggie looks kind of like recent Beanie Babies, and I can see him making good merch.

A quick but cute read! Highly recommend!

I have followed the Sad Nuggie comics on social media for ages so the second I saw this on Netgalley I HAD to read it. It did not disappoint! The book features the same cute, relatable Nuggie facing a bunch of relatable, adulting issues. Think moving house, starting a new job, going on holiday and even dating (Tender cracked me up).

This book was an adorable, light-hearted, quick read sprinkled with advice, puns, relatable situations and, of course, Sad Nuggie!

If you enjoy the comics (or are just looking for a funny, short graphic novel with the cutest nugget on the planet) then this is the book for you!

Sad Nuggie is a collection of funny comics all about a sad, little chicken nugget who is forced to engage in adulting.

I picked this up because I have a friend who absolutely adores Sad Nuggie. And now I can see why she does! A lot of these stories are quite relatable, even moreso when you are in a job you don't enjoy, are struggling with your work-life balance or struggle with anxiety. Most of these aren't quite relevant to me, so I might not relate to this work as much as others, but I still had a good time following along with this adorable main character trying their absolute best to survive and maybe even thrive.

This is a quick and funny read, and will go over well with fans of Sad Nuggie, or other short comics about everyday life's victories and struggles.

A nugget eating nuggets is wild!

No but really this book is so darn cute and relatable. Little nuggie is just trying to live their best life, just like me. It made me chuckle (tender instead of tinder) and was just very wholesome.

So cute! Sad Nuggie is learning to live his best life in a new city and faces many challenges along the way, like a hungry goose and the Sunday Scaries! Even the nuggie knows how important therapy is and shows us his weekly visits.

This was my first interaction with any Sad Nuggie content and I love it. Absolutely adorable, a quick little read to cheer up your day, and surprisingly relatable for a nugget!

Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to check this out!

What an adorable comic about a sad nugget living with anxiety and the stresses of life. I read this with my 7 and 4 yr old as they love comics and chicken nuggets. My kids had a fun time seeing Nuggie pick outfits and all the sad things that happen to him, ie dropping his ice cream on the pavement. My kids loved the part of Nuggie wanting to do nothing but watch tv and playing video games all weekend. They lost their minds when he fell asleep the WHOLE weekend. They also understood that Mondays are the worst, lol
I honestly loved this and seeing Nuggie’s everyday struggles as my own, hit deep. There is a Sad Nuggie in us all throughout our mundane day to day tasks. Sad Nuggie is way too relatable, the illustrations are just so cute. I personally love the part about Nuggie trying to read and giving up.
