If you're chronically online, you've probably seen Sad Nuggie floating around the internet. And if you're like me, every time you do it makes you wanna squeeze Nuggie and say it's okay, life will all turn out ok.

This book made me want to do that and also say the subway IS scary, eating healthy IS hard, and walks ARE too people-y.

The art style is cute, the panels are all easy to understand and giggle along with (or go "awww 🄹🄹" at). But beyond the cutesy-ness of it all, this book actually serves as a wonderful reminder to just do it. Just live your life. Do it scared, but do it. Do it alone, but do it!

Make the move, go to the aquarium, try a new hobby, go on the trip even if you're by yourself.
Say pun filled affirmations to yourself.
Change your emails to be thinly veiled but corporately acceptable threats šŸ’—šŸ’—

I didnt like this and at first I thought this was some kind of web comic. I was trying to find something good about it because I like to try and support independent artists. However after looking into it I just get the feeling that this is some person or people trying to create the new hot character to shove merch into a Hot Topic. The character of Sad Nuggie lacks any sort of genuine originality.

This little book of comics was pointless. Its a book about a lame character that doesnt do anything besides cry all the time and gets sad because of its own dumb choices.

I got this as an arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher.

Sad Nuggie: Life Is Sweet And Sour is just what the doctor ordered!

Relatable. Bingeable. Adorable.

Having been a long time fan of the OG artwork, comics & the global phenomenon that developed from the artists work this is a thrill to read! So impressed with the illustrations & the depictions of every day struggles with deeper topics like anxiety explored in a gentle way.

I’d recommend to anyone who wants an extra pep in their step.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, the illustrator Anastasia & to Sad Nuggie for all the laughs!

Sad Nuggie Life is sweet and sour is an intriguing and aptly titled comic that will ultimately take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and thoughts that are resonating and deeply thoughtful with the conclusion of smiles and laughter.

Sad Nuggie is an anxious, cute and adorable chicken nugget who has recently moved to a new city. Smaller tasks seem bigger and scarier. Building friendships, and finding the perfect relationship on Tender isn't working as planned. Everything is oddly overwhelming for the sweet Sad Nuggie. When his therapist asks him to follow a few simple, easy to incorporate tips, he begins to give the advice a chance.

This book is utterly captivating! I'm an avid fan of comics and graphic novels. Sad Nuggie was one of my anticipated releases for this year. And I was not disappointed at all. The illustrations are amazingly detailed, vivid and colourful. The author has tackled the tough subjects of anxiety and intense feelings with humour and fun but not in a way that is disrespectful and arrogant. Rather with every page, the individual situations convey proactive participation and never being afraid of the challenges and unexpected trials that life puts us in. The events were so resonating and hilarious that I couldn't keep myself from laughing out loud
