Sad Nuggie is so relatable. I too hate work and wish I could respond to client emails by telling clients to learn how to read 😭 Just like Sad Nuggie, I also hate spending one more minute than necessary at work even if it’s to spend time with coworkers, but then I complain that making friends as an adult is hard 😅

This was a cute collection of Sad Nuggie panels.
Sad Nuggie, I feel you. Life is hard and each panel you show us how to keep going despite setbacks (big or small).
My favorite panel is the roller coaster; my daughter had the exact same reaction to the Behemoth roller coaster at Wonderland. This panel made me laugh and remember this fantastic memory.

*I received an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A cute little comics collections. I have read some Sad Nuggie comics online previously, and this book collects them in a more-or-less linear fashion. Tackling ideas of young adulthood and anxiety, Nuggie is just trying to get by in life, a stand-in for the author/illustrator's struggles. If you've read any similar style of online comic collections, you know exactly what you're getting into. Short and cute.

This book was absolutely adorable. As an AuDHD Mama this resonated with me deeply. I love both how compassionate and gentle. The book was in regards to every day struggle/things like executive disfunction and helps to highlight them in a positive and healthy way. And absolutely gorgeously illustrated graphic novel that was a delight to read.

✨ "The quality of the day can be determined solely on: whether you get cold nuggets or hot and crispy ones."
Ain't that the truth.
This was so cute!!! Sad Nuggie is super endearing. Most of the comics were funny and relatable, while some were just okay. I love the bright colours, bold strokes and vibrant art. A very breezy and feel-good read for when you want to feel less alone.

I’ve never felt a character so relatable in my life! Sad Nuggie brings real and raw feelings as well as cute moments too. The illustrations are so well done, even the pages between the chapters. The writing and experiences of real life situations like moving to a new city, joining in with new hobbies and dating were so well done and relatable.

I am so happy I found this!!! I absolutely love Sad Nuggie and didn't realize there was going to be a book! The illustrations were adorable and the little adventures that Sad Nuggie went on were great! I loved everything about this!

This is an adorable and emotionally driven book. Nuggie tries so hard, even though things don't always work out for him. As someone who struggles with mental health and social anxiety, I really related to a lot of Nuggie's struggles, and genuinely enjoyed reading this book.
Thank you to Anastasia Sevastyanova, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC.

If Sad Nuggie can persist then so can I. This book captures the struggles of adulthood, mental health, and the challenges of making new friends. Equal parts emotional, humorous, and reflective Sad Nuggie is relatable and loveable.

From my 17-year-old son: Very realistic! Talks about some very real stresses of life.
Loved all the Illustrations!

This book is about this sad nuggie that is trying to live his life but unfortunately things don't go the way he wants, and dispise all this unfortunate things that happen to him, he is willing to keep trying and improve his life.
I think a lot of us can relate to this poor nuggie (I certainly did). Sometimes adulthood is just hard and all we want to do is lie in bed and leave the problem for our future selves. This nuggie tries therapy and through it, he starts to try different things, maybe not all of them are of his liking but at least he's tried.
On another note, it also shows the value of friendship, you don't need to do everything on your own. I know that sometime, especially when you are burned out, the last thing you want to do is go out, but going out may help you release some stress, forget about your problems, and have a good time.
I loved the art of this book, made me laugh a lot and I think that it portrays perfectly the life of most adults nowadays.

Sad Nuggie - Life Is Sweet and Sour. As a lot of people on social media I knew Sad Nuggie, seeing it all over the internet for years. It always made me smile or relate to it. So when I saw the book I said to myself : why not ? I like the title, made me a bit sad and hungry.
I am not a nuggie but i got sad for it. Life isn't easy, for nuggies and for humans like us. There were a few uplifting and encouraging messages, but heh, I don't think I was convinced by my overall reading experience.
It wasn't as funny as the posts I saw and read all over the internet those past years. Maybe a longer format and so much text doesn't fit Sad Nuggie.
I felt the humour and the core of what Sad Nuggie being a bit dragged out to make something with 128 pages, it didn't quite work. The rhythm was unsteady, poor structure. Less funny, less impactful.
It worked best when it was just a few boxes and less text. Like the original format of Sad Nuggie, efficient comic strips.
I still enjoyed some parts of my read, with some quite relatable situations, quotes and moments. But nothing hilarious. It was a pretty quick read.
The more relatable part was the anxiety portrayed, the life worries and how a lot of us struggle with the same basic tasks in our everyday lives.
"The weekend has two days. One to stress about the previous week. One to stress about the next week. And both to stress about only having two days to relax."
Dedicated to "those who keep on going even when things feel impossible. You got this."

This is such a cute comic. Quick read and reflective. Really enjoyed it! I saw myself in many pages and I would live to experience more of Sad Nuggie.

Entertaining tale that teaches about self-care. I am a fan of sad buggies. Enjoy how it’s formatted to read like a comic.

A weird book about a cannibal struggling with mental health issues . . . but in a cutesy and inspirational way?
So, like, Sad Nuggie is the author, the main character, and the social media and merchandising brand. He (the official company pronoun, but I find the character sexually ambiguous or fluid) is a chicken nugget. Who eats chicken nuggets. So, I'm a little unclear if Nuggie is a cannibal or, since he is composed of processed chicken flesh, maybe a zombie or Frankenstein creature?
One thing is clear: Nuggie has the worst luck. This sad sack cannot catch a break, every choice is wrong, every moment of chance goes against him. He also struggles with anxiety, seeing a therapist, but often retreating to isolation or a blanket cocoon.
Honestly, a lot of the appeal for me is how much Nuggie's life reminds me of my daughter's.
Anyhow, fans of Sarah Andersen and all those other anxiety-ridden webcomic creators should find this amusing and relatable. But some may be turned off knowing this is a branded spin-off of a merchandising machine focused on selling stuffed toys on the internet (at sadnuggie.com).

I've been following the Sad Nuggie profile on instagram for quite some time now. And let me tell you, I really like those damn comics. Who knew that deep down, I am also a sad nuggie and that I'd find that page's content very very relatable?
This book isn't different from what you see on instagram. And if you like that, then you'll also like this. Here, we are even treated with stories that are longer than one or two panels and I am very glad with that.
Honestly, I can't find a single thing that I didn't like about this book. And if you like funny books, relatable content and good illustrations, then this one is for you!

This illustrated book is so different from others because it's got such an optimistic angle to everything....and then things go left. And so Nuggie is sad. And it's real and relatable content packaged and wrapped in a beautiful and adorable art style. I especially love that for an illustrated story, there's a continuation to the narrative and reoccurring themes and events that felt like real life. That was extremely refreshing as most illustrated stories tend to be one-shots that are put together to have an over-arching theme or motif.

I love sad nuggie so much! Never in my life did I think I would relate to a sentient chicken nugget, but here we are. As always, sad nuggie is adorably drawn and oh so relatable. Sad Nuggie is me. Sad Nuggie is all of us.

Thank you Netgalle for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. The opinions written are completely honest and my own.
Sad Nuggie is my favorite illustrated character. That little piece of yum has so much hardship. I love it

Sad Nuggie was a very cute and relatable collection of mini-comics. I felt like sometimes the comics were too repetitive or unclear exactly what was happening, but overall the comics made me laugh. The artwork for Sad Nuggie is very cute and there were a few single paged comics I like enough that I'd want them as prints. It was a very quick read and an enjoyable collection.
