Long-form version of the social media series. Poor Sad Nuggie... Definitely a must-read for fans. Nice to see Sad Nuggie not sad all the time.

This was an adorable read, even though it wasn't my style. I highly enjoyed the comic strip styling of this book! It's something you don't often see anymore with graphic novels per se. This would make a great coffee table book, and I can't wait to see the Sad Nuggie brand expand into print media.

This little sad nuggie speaks to me on so many levels. I loved the illustrations and the scenes. I will re-read it as many times as possible.

A cute little book that is too relatable to me and to introvert people. Book talks about social anxiety that comes up when you have to talk to bunch of people or go to a crowded place, feeling missing out. But after one exhaustive long day, you sit your sofa cuddles up in your favourite blanket and tea with your favourite show on - is just perfect!!!!

Awww I just had to click when I saw the little guy on the cover of Life is Sweet and Sour! Sad Nuggie is super relatable the whole way through.

I genuinely could not get enough of this. I have been a fan of Sad Nuggie for a very long time, and have been wanting to get my own physical Nuggie to help me get through the sad times. This book is a collection of comics and stories that brings Sad Nuggie to life. It's not easy being a sensitive lil nuggie in a big cruel world, especially when all you want is live a quiet life in your cozy nuggie home.
These comics are sweet and fun, and try to show the lighter side of life despite living with anxiety. It's reflective of wanting to keep to yourself and stay in your own little bubble, but getting out there in wider world and experiencing life for all it's made of. It's suitable for all ages, and I'd especially recommend it for those who are fans of Sad Nuggie.
Thank you so much to NetGalley for the review copy of this book!

Having related to many of the sad nuggie posts I've seen on social media, I knew this would be an enjoyable read.
We get a glimpse of how Sad Nuggie copes with a big life change: moving to a new place. We are shown the struggles and anxiety around having to make new friends, start a new job, and get familiar with your new surroundings. Sad Nuggie doesn't excel in these areas, but does their best.

I absolutely love the art style—and the fact that the main character is a chicken nugget? Genius. The dedication page was incredibly sweet, and I knew right then I was in for something special. I never thought I’d relate so deeply to an anxiety-ridden chicken nugget, but here we are.
What really hit me was how many of Sad Nuggie’s experiences mirrored my own. The coping mechanisms, the spirals, the attempts to just function—it’s all so real. This isn’t just cute for cute’s sake; it’s thoughtful, honest, and deeply relatable. It captures the way anxiety can quietly (or loudly) take over your day, but does it with heart and dark humor that never feels dismissive.
This definitely feels aimed at adults dealing with anxiety—people who will see themselves in the tiny struggles and quiet victories. The humor leans into the darker corners of life, but it’s done with such warmth and charm that it never feels heavy. Just… tender.
P.S. That one panel with “Tender”? I was absolutely howling.

That said, I found the book a bit too short. Just when I was getting into it, it was over! Still, it's an enjoyable little escape, especially if you're in the mood for something light.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read this sweet book!

I’m a simple person I see Sad Nuggie and I’m entertained. It’s cute little picture book with very few words but the stories are still relatable and the artwork is adorable

This was a cute read, overall…but it didn’t feel too original or iconic, I guess. The concept of a nugget character feels very based in the nugget memes and fad. Most of the “that’s so relatable” jokes and motifs in the book were from memes I’ve seen around for years, such as the salsa class one.
I think it would be better if it was more original, and not just what felt like a series of drawings of popular memes for the last few years.
It wasn’t bad, just very unoriginal…and I felt a bit underwhelmed and let down as a whole.
I did however really enjoy the illustration style. It was cute and lively.
Thank you NetGallry for the ARC in exchange for my honest review

I'm just a simple person who loves Sad Nuggie. I loved the simplicity of Sad Nuggie. There isn't an overarching story. Just a sad nuggie trying to life and well we all are trying to life like adults, so I definitely felt seen.
Cute.
Fun.
Simple.

At my being I am a simple woman. Give me some cute illustrations and make it funny and relatable and I'm happy.
I have seen Sad Nuggie comics on social media on a few occasions. This book collects a number of these comics in one volume.
The simplicity of the art style is to its strength. Whilst the tone is somewhat bleak at times it resonates with the reader and the struggles and emotions we all feel; it has it's humorous moments too.

Absolutely adorable and relatable adventures with sad nuggie was a quick, sweet read. While it seemed a bit disjointed at times, I loved the artwork and their story really brought a smile to my face. I will most definitely be looking the author up on social media.

Sad Nuggie was just the kind of panacea I needed in this insane world. Sad Nuggie taps into the pressures we all feel from time to time about worrying are we "adulting" right? Socializing enough? Eating right? Are we on our phones too much? Are we avoiding that long list of tasks in our too short weekend. With a very minimalist style in both art and in words, this managed to put a smile on my face. I recommend it as a good book for a friend to lighten the mood.

Who doesn’t love a sad nuggie? As always it’s a little sweet ands sour. Life can be daunting but sometimes we have to reshape our boundaries. Getting help is also a game changer.
Have a little fun and take some chances.
I thoroughly enjoyed my ARC from NetGalley. Thank you again

This was a cute comic about a nugget doing their best. Something I think we can all relate to one way or another.

This charming comic follows Sad Nuggie, an anxious little chicken nugget navigating the challenges of a new city, social anxiety, and the quest for self-acceptance. Through vibrant illustrations and relatable scenarios, it offers a gentle reminder that it's okay to feel overwhelmed and that small steps can lead to meaningful progress. A delightful read that blends humor with heartfelt moments, making it perfect for anyone seeking comfort and a smile.

Sad Nuggie made some good points.
- Geese are very mean and scary
- It is too peopley out to go for a walk
- Adventures are expensive
- Weekends are way too short
The illustrations were colorful and really told some cute little stories. Sad Nuggie is very relatable and feels like a very needed hug.
Thank you NetGalley, Andrews McMeel Publishing, Anastasia Sevastyanova, and Sad Nuggie for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
