I’m a simple person I see Sad Nuggie and I’m entertained. It’s cute little picture book with very few words but the stories are still relatable and the artwork is adorable

This was a cute read, overall…but it didn’t feel too original or iconic, I guess. The concept of a nugget character feels very based in the nugget memes and fad. Most of the “that’s so relatable” jokes and motifs in the book were from memes I’ve seen around for years, such as the salsa class one.

I think it would be better if it was more original, and not just what felt like a series of drawings of popular memes for the last few years.

It wasn’t bad, just very unoriginal…and I felt a bit underwhelmed and let down as a whole.

I did however really enjoy the illustration style. It was cute and lively.

Thank you NetGallry for the ARC in exchange for my honest review

I'm just a simple person who loves Sad Nuggie. I loved the simplicity of Sad Nuggie. There isn't an overarching story. Just a sad nuggie trying to life and well we all are trying to life like adults, so I definitely felt seen.
Cute.
Fun.
Simple.

At my being I am a simple woman. Give me some cute illustrations and make it funny and relatable and I'm happy.

I have seen Sad Nuggie comics on social media on a few occasions. This book collects a number of these comics in one volume.

The simplicity of the art style is to its strength. Whilst the tone is somewhat bleak at times it resonates with the reader and the struggles and emotions we all feel; it has it's humorous moments too.

"I might be bite sized but my determination is king sized."

Absolutely adorable and relatable adventures with sad nuggie was a quick, sweet read. While it seemed a bit disjointed at times, I loved the artwork and their story really brought a smile to my face. I will most definitely be looking the author up on social media.

Sad Nuggie was just the kind of panacea I needed in this insane world. Sad Nuggie taps into the pressures we all feel from time to time about worrying are we "adulting" right? Socializing enough? Eating right? Are we on our phones too much? Are we avoiding that long list of tasks in our too short weekend. With a very minimalist style in both art and in words, this managed to put a smile on my face. I recommend it as a good book for a friend to lighten the mood.

Who doesn’t love a sad nuggie? As always it’s a little sweet ands sour. Life can be daunting but sometimes we have to reshape our boundaries. Getting help is also a game changer.
Have a little fun and take some chances.

I thoroughly enjoyed my ARC from NetGalley. Thank you again

This was a cute comic about a nugget doing their best. Something I think we can all relate to one way or another.

Sad Nuggie made some good points.
- Geese are very mean and scary
- It is too peopley out to go for a walk
- Adventures are expensive
- Weekends are way too short

The illustrations were colorful and really told some cute little stories. Sad Nuggie is very relatable and feels like a very needed hug.

Thank you NetGalley, Andrews McMeel Publishing, Anastasia Sevastyanova, and Sad Nuggie for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

this was such a delight to read. there are a lot of mini comics in this book and each is very relatable and funny to daily life. the art is amazing and i kept laughing while reading. there are multiple chapters and each is equally relatable and funny. the concept of it being a chicken nugget is equally as hilarious.

this publishes on august 5th 2025!

I don’t know what I was expecting but it was not a tale of self acceptance, how hard therapeutic practices can be to apply to your daily life, and finding your people through creating an online community. Sad Nuggie has a long way to go, but everybody starts somewhere!

That sad little nuggie was incredibly relatable in so many ways, especially in terms of how ADHD, anxiety and loneliness can wear down in a person, but this was such a fun read.

The art was adorable for this book. I recalled seeing some of this nuggie online so I requested a copy to see what a whole book would look like. It's as cute as it is sad and above all too relatable. The colors are bright and lovely and though it was a bit simple it adds all the more to the feelings a lot of people these days face. I really felt like I was the sad nuggie trying to make it in this world. In fact, I definitely have been!

I'm aiming to order at least 1 copy for my store once solicitation occurs as I believe the recognizability and relatability will allow it to sell easily.

Thank you for the ARC!

This graphic novel has very minimal words used, but the message is still conveyed perfectly. We see Sad Nuggie navigate adult life in humorous comic strips. I found this graphic novel to be quick, fun, and very relatable.

I love how funny and relatable this comic is and the fact that it's short. If you're in a reading slump I recommend reading this so much. Apart from all of this I love the way the author makes you feel seen and understood. I would like to read more comics about this nugget.

That's right. Five stars to the sad chicken nugget. I'm taking no questions at this time.

But seriously, the art style is absolutely adorable and this Nuggie is, well, all of us? Definitely me, though. This was a delightfully wholesome and incredibly relatable story. You'll laugh, you'll emote, and maybe you'll learn a few valuable life lessons alongside our charming little nugget.

I would not be surprised if Sad Nuggie found his way onto my shelves as he's definitely nuggie'd his way into my heart.

Bonus points for the Toronto backdrop, too.

Not really my thing but it's cute. I like the "I can't today" energy nuggie is displaying.
Took me a bit to get that nuggie is a chicken nugget :D

Absolutely loved this! I've been following Sad Nuggie on Instagram for a while and so glad they're coming out with books now. Such a relatable character covering topics we all face on a daily basis but with humor. Without the humor, it's all stress and I love it for them that they have this. I really need to get a copy of this for my sister. She would love it!
