Although this is an enjoyable read, to call it a Lyon's Den novel is a little bit of a stretch. Although Mrs. Dove-Lyon does have a small part to play toward the end she isn't really responsible for the match or much of the plot. This love story here probably needed a few more chapters to more fully delve into how these characters felt about one another, especially on Rosilee's end. I think there also needed to be more on how Blake came to be the recluse that he was. At the end of the Prologue Blake states that his father is his enemy but he spends much of the book saying that he's not worthy of Rosilee because of how his father behaved. I guess I would have just thought he would have worked overtime to prove to the world that he was not his father instead of giving the memory of his father that much power over him. I also thought that he was a little too experienced with women considering how it is made clear multiple times that the only person's touch he can tolerate is Rosilee's (and that he did not want to be as free with women as his father had been). I got worried toward the end that Rosilee was going to throw a roadblock between her and Blake (after he made his big apology) because of his earlier mistakes. With the introduction of Blake's half-brothers into this story it kind of felt like the author was looking to draw in readers for a new series (where Blake and Rosilee may or may not play a roll).

I thoroughly enjoyed this grumpy-sunshine romance with its added „he falls first“, road trip and „it's always been you“ tropes, which has some parallels with Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". The plot is very well and wittily written, I particularly liked the self-deprecating thought processes and the dialogues and verbal sparrings between Blake and his butler/friend Bishop. The characters are endearing and I liked Rosilee's open, courageous nature. Blake is a broken hero who still suffers from the consequences of his difficult childhood. There are some LOL moments, touching scenes, a villain, quirky travel companions and servants, a touch of suspense and a bit of steam.
When Lady Rosilee Fairchild's brother loses the entire family fortune to Mr Baston in a wager, she must act quickly and travel to London to find a man who is willing to marry her despite the rumors surrounding her. She therefore decides to enlist the help of Mrs Bess Dove-Lyon, otherwise there is a risk that Mr Baston will force her to marry him.
Blake Faithorne, Duke of Crane, has been living in seclusion on his country estate for years. But when he learns of Rosilee's situation, he wants to help her to settle an old debt. Rosilee had saved him from his abusive father in their childhood and became his angel, even though they had not seen each other since. But he has always secretly kept an eye on her. As he considers himself a beast and therefore can't marry her himself, he travels after her to play matchmaker for her...
If you like heartwarming historical romance novels with brooding heroes, sunny heroines, very likable side characters, humor and spice, you are sure to enjoy this book!
I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

Beauty and the Lyon is a Regency take on the classic fairy tale. Lady Rosilee Fairchild is a bold heroine who refuses to let fate—or villainous men—control her life. When her brother’s debts threaten to force her into a terrible marriage, she takes matters into her own hands by seeking help at the infamous Lyon’s Den (the hub of the connected universe multiple authors have written about in this series).
Blake Faiththorne, the brooding Duke of Crane, is a recluse haunted by his past. When he discovers Rosilee—the woman who once saved him—is in danger, he steps in, determined to help her on her mission to find a husband… even if the thought of her marrying someone else twists him up inside. Their chemistry is fantastic, blending tender moments with witty banter and deep emotional tension.
The story moves quickly, with just the right mix of drama, humor, and romance. Blake’s tortured-hero vibes make him a compelling lead, and Rosilee’s optimism and strength balance him perfectly. The Lyon’s Den plays a smaller role than expected, but the real highlight is the dynamic between the two leads—especially when Blake’s mysterious half-brothers (including one hilariously named "Reaper") show up. Overall, "Beauty and the Lyon" is a fun, heartfelt read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Thank you NetGalley. This story did not have much to do with the Lyon's Den but one might say an important part. Rosilee helped a young boy when she was visiting his neighbor and Blake never forgot it. His father was a mean alcoholic, who went into rages and went after him at times when he could not hide from him. Blake always attached his father's behavior with his being the Duke of Crane so when he became the duke he felt he was that monster even though he didn't drink or have those traits. When Rosilee needed his help he was there for her. She was going to London to Mrs. Dove-Lyon to gain a husband to help her find a husband. Blake thought he would help her find a husband without marrying her himself. He was not good enough for her. She is the one bright spot in his dark world. Read on to how they solve their problems.

The Waltz, Family, Delightful Love Story"
I found this Lyon Dens story quite different from any of the other books in the series.
The Black Widow played a small part and was helpful in a different sort of way to bring this story to a happy ending.
My first time reading this author who gave me a lighthearted humorous story filled with several emotional situations,
many scares, some passion and many unusual characters that capture the essence of the story perfectly.
How can you not love a story with 6 half-brothers one named Reaper and one named Bishop?
Very funny yet thrilling story that I truly enjoyed along with all of the characters and the very rewarding ending.
💋Favorite Character" Reaper

Blake has never forgotten Rosilee who saved him from his father's cruelty when they were children. Now a recluse, he still has kept tabs on her life. When he hears she is being forced to marry a cruel man to forgive her brother's gambling debt, he decides to intervene to help her. Though attracted to her, he decides to help her find someone else to marry. Can Rosilee help him to realize he is not a monster like his father and is instead worthy of her love? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

Lady Rosilee Fairchild's character is refreshing, she has a no nonsense personality, is a survivor, and entertaining. I enjoyed her interactions with all the characters and how her mind worked in the variety of situations she ended up in.
Blake Faiththorne, Duke of Crane, caught my attention in the prologue and I continued to be both annoyed in a good way and in love with his character. The author did a great job creating his character from past life experiences keeping him relevant to the storyline.
This storyline was extremely enjoyable and a fun read with some drama thrown in.
There were so many great characters in this book that deserve their own stories. I'd love to see books with Reaper, Bishop, and Rosilee's brother, Viscount Leopold.

I would have enjoyed this story even more at twice the length. Some parts, like the confrontation in the place where the book gets its name, were rushed. Reads like it might be a .5 in a new series. If we've got a seven brides thing going on and the books were longer, it's an interesting setting for reading on. Thank you for the chance to read this ARC!

It was not my normal genre but it was a typical romance i suffered through it not a big fan or romances

I give this book 5 stars
I really enjoyed reading the story of Rosilee and Blake.
They met as children when Rosilee rescued Blake from an abusive father. Then they met again as adults when Blake now scared by his father does not think he is worthy of anybody. Rosilee now needs help he brother has got in with a horrible man who is trying to force her to marry him so she runs away. Blake who has keep abreast of Rosilee steps in to rescue her they fall in love but he wont marry her so she goes to the notorious Lyons Den. Blake realised he couldn't live without her goes to and tells her he loves her. Meeting his, half brother whom he has never met before. I can't wait for their stories to appear.

As children, Rosilee saved Crane and he never forgot. When she is in danger, he comes to her rescue but he can only offer so much. He eventually accepts the truth and they get their HEA but it is a hard road to that conclusion.
I especially loved the banter between Blake (the Duke) and Bishop (the butler or whatever service needed), and most of the time it was absolutely hilarious as Bishop pulled no punches. There is a villain who is eventually handled. I love the surprise appearance of Blake’s half-brothers, whom he has never met until now. I would love to see his seven half-brothers get their own series because the little they played in this story peeked my curiosity and I loved what little they played in the story.
I recheived a free copy of this book via NetGalley and are voluntarily leaving a review.

It is interesting how different writers portray Mrs. Dove-Lyon. Some make her more benevolent, but this time, she is a she-wolf ready , willing and able to tear into whatever is causing her grief. This is a beautiful story of Beauty and the Beast with Rosalie and Blake. It was truly heartbreaking watching Blake go through such pain and fear over his own father and finding an ‘Angel’ that helps him was adorable. The twists and turns of this story do keep you guessing and at one time thought there may be 2 villains instead of one. The family bent on this story was touching and the villain getting the ride of his life was very satisfying ! A really wonderful Lyon’s Den story that I really enjoyed! As always , with this author , it was well plotted, with lovely characters, especially Bishop and chemistry extraordinaire!
I received this story for free and these are my own views.

Blake was brutalized as a child by his own father but one day another child rescued him and they climbed a tree.
Blake grew up to take over the Dukedom becoming a recluse at his country estate.
Then one day Rosilee his childhood rescuer gets into trouble and he has to return the favor by rescuing her.
Leaving his estate, her troubles, and family conflicts add into the mix of their circumstances.
Action packed and heartrending.
A destined love story, easy and addictive to read and love the characters.

I devoured this book! I cannot get enough Beauty & the Beast retellings, especially in historical romance, and this one knocked it out of the park.
Rosilee and Blake were so lovely. I really liked them! I thought they had great chemistry and their romance developed beautifully. I liked how intimate their romance felt too.
The plot is Beauty and the Beast inspired so it's a tale as old as time. I will gobble it up every time too. The plot is fast-paced and easy to read. I found it entertaining too.
If you like fairytale retellings and looking for a novella to read, I'd recommend this one!
