I give this a 4, it was definitely a twist on my usual thriller dram book. The relationships that develop and get taken apart in this story are interesting. I think that it was a good book especially for in the car on audio. I do think that the book had a lot of characters, and sometimes that made it confusing at times. But over all the book, had great characters and character development

Sophia Spiers's I Let Her In is a chilling psychological thriller that peels back the layers of a seemingly perfect, influencer-driven life to reveal a terrifying obsession. The narrator, a successful yoga studio owner with 800,000 carefully curated Instagram followers, thrives on presenting a glamorous image of her life—from manicures to brand collaborations. But behind the perfectly filtered façade, she battles a darker reality of vicious messages and anonymous threats.

She maintains a deliberate distance from most people, until she encounters her new cleaner at the yoga studio: an eighteen-year-old who has just moved to the city with nowhere to go. Feeling a pang of empathy, knowing what it's like to be alone, the narrator extends an invitation for the young woman to stay with her.

What she believes is a chance meeting soon unravels as a calculated invasion. The cleaner, it turns out, has a relentless desire to know "everything" about her, to get "closer" to her, and ultimately, to claim the narrator's life as her own. I Let Her In expertly builds suspense, exploring the dangerous allure of curated lives and the horrifying consequences of letting the wrong person into your carefully constructed world. This novel will keep you on edge as the narrator's perfect life crumbles under the weight of a stranger's sinister ambition.

Frankie Fitz is the influencer everyone is watching. She owns Pilaga, a mix of Pilates and yoga, she looks great and can always be found at an exclusive event. At a terrible time in her life, she’s rescued by a stranger, a stranger who wants far more than you would expect.

I loved the writing of this. Told between two time lines: now and then, and by two characters.

While I found the reveals slightly outlandish this is the perfect pacy thriller for you this summer. You’ll luxuriate in the drama and the lifestyles.

I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher.

A slightly dark and twisted book with twists I didn't see coming. This story sucks you in from the first page and is suspenseful all the way through!

"I Let Her In" was a fast whirlwind read with short chapters and a captivating storyline surrounding two POV's.

Frankie, a successful yoga studio owner, creator of "Pilaga" and social media influencer, seems to have it all - wealth, fame, and a perfect life. But beneath the surface, she's hiding a dark past. When her best friend's sudden death and she starts receiving anonymous threats on social media, Frankie's charmed life is starting to crumble.

We are introduced to Bee, who secures employment as a cleaner at Frankie's yoga studio. Bee has a lot of dark secrets from her past and throughout her narrative, we are sprinkled information and clues about her past and the motives she has for her future.

This psychological thriller locked me in from the beginning and it was a great story putting all the pieces together. While I figured out the plot twist fairly early on, I was still fully invested in the seeing this one to the end.

We have two main characters Bee and Frankie. Bee has left home after her mother dies. She follows Frankie online and reads all of her posts. Bee finds a way into Frankie life. Frankie is clueless to the real Bee.
I thought the book moved a little slow but overall it was good.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC and to the publisher Lume Books.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this. Will definitely be recommending. Kept me really hooked I'll love to reread again

This book attempts to deliver something original out of some relatively familiar tropes. Social media influencers, the disconnect between the glamour of their online lives and their day to day reality behind the scenes, dysfunctional families, and revenge plots are all elements that get a look in.

The story does provide some interesting twists, but ultimately does not add that much that's new to the genre. Still, it is a fairly entertaining read, so worth checking out if you enjoy psychological thrillers.

I waited weeks after finishing before writing this review and I’m clearly in the minority of reviewers, but this was a rare one star read for me. I read one other book by the author and enjoyed it, so I’m very surprised by this one. I can usually find something I like about a story, but unfortunately, I did not like any of the characters, the story line, or the writing. I quickly grew tired of Bee (and waited for her comeuppance), questioned Frankie’s actions regarding Bee, and the ending felt rushed.

I enjoyed the multiple POVs, but this was a bit predictable. It never fully pulled me in, though there were a few good twists. The ending, sadly, was lackluster and felt too abrupt.

Although the book’s subtitle says the usual thing, calling it a “gripping and unputdownable psychological thriller”, I think it is more than that. I think it’s time for a new sub-genre to be brought onto the scene of psych thrillers: a mix of FAFO and dysfunctional family. This book is the epitome of it. A child is born, a child isn’t treated well, and those who were supposed to love the said child have done anything but love the said child. The child grows up, and then everyone gets to face the consequences of their actions and inactions.
I don’t know who the target audience and the ideal readers for this new sub-genre are, but I know I am. I see and I know Bee was meant to be this unlikable, unstable, evil character. Yet here I am, loving her, rooting for her. My CPTSD-ridden and my RSD-ridden part loved her and found her so, so relatable. Everything she did made so much sense to me. You go, Bee. Watch the world burn, here, have some more matches. Turns out, I have my very own inner Bee, and my inner Bee is one strong and resilient bish. My inner Bee saw whatever the book Bee did and smiled a sad smile. Also, my inner Bee wanted to hug all the reds out of the book Bee (and her BPD, yes, you are welcome, I’m in a mood for handing out psych diagnoses today, and BPD is what Bee gets).

This most definitely is not a book that is going to be everyone’s cup of tea. But it’s the best blood-flavored cup of your favorite hot drink if you are a die-hard fan of totally messed-up family dynamics in your books and if you live for reading unhinged characters.
I wish there were some sort of catalogue of books with THIS kind of dynamic. If you know what I’m talking about here, you are more than welcome to share your bookish suggestions with me.

I am a sucker for any book that has to do with social media, so I had to read this book! This book shows the down side of social media and the author did a great job. Plenty of twists and turns. The book was predictable at times, but I enjoyed reading how it would happen. This was a solid thriller and I would recommend it.

I Let Her In
Sophia Spiers

🌟🌟🌟🌟

About this time last year, I read The Family Home by this author and loved it!
When I spotted this new release, I was instantly drawn in by the front cover and couldn't wait to dive in!

I was totally invested from the start and although I instantly dislike Frankie, I was too intrigued by the whole premise to let this one go.

Frankie has 800,000 followers on social media and everything she posts, shows the perfection that is her life.
But as we all know, what we see on screen, isn't always the reality - and there are some people who will do anything to get to know you and get a piece of your life for themselves.

I love a good psychological thriller and especially one with stalker vibes.
Although, they put me on edge!
This storyline made for the perfect read and I raced through this as I made my theories and tried to work out how things would play out in the end.

I loved the dual pov format as this really allowed us to dig around in the main characters' minds and get a feel for their thoughts and feelings.
It also meant that we could follow the story bit by bit which at first seemed confusing and tense, but the threads were worked perfectly into a twisty a d exciting conclusion.

This was a fast-paced read with an addictive writing style that I just couldn't put down!
Can't wait to read more by this author.

Sophia Spiers delivers a haunting and immersive psychological thriller with I Let Her In, a novel that explores the corrosive power of secrets and the dangerous consequences of letting someone get too close. This is a tense, character-driven story that sinks its hooks in early and refuses to let go.

At the center of the novel is a protagonist grappling with an overwhelming sense of unease, as secrets from the past threaten to surface and unravel her carefully constructed life. Spiers masterfully builds suspense through a creeping sense of dread, drawing readers into the protagonist’s mindset and allowing them to feel the same growing tension and paranoia. The pacing is deliberate but gripping, perfectly calibrated to keep readers turning pages late into the night.

What makes I Let Her In particularly compelling is its atmosphere—dark, charged, and layered with psychological depth. As the story unfolds, the revelations come at just the right moments, keeping the stakes high and the reader guessing. The twist, when it arrives, is both satisfying and impactful, tying together the emotional threads and plot twists in a way that feels earned.

Sophia Spiers writes with clarity and emotional precision, making the story not only suspenseful but also resonant. I Let Her In is a standout domestic thriller that will appeal to fans of slow-burning suspense and complex female-driven narratives. An intense, well-crafted novel that lingers long after the final page.

I Let Her In by Sophia Spiers is a twisty psychological thriller that takes a look at the downside of social media fame and will make you question who is really watching you online.

Francesca "Frankie" is a very popular social media influencer. With her carefully curated posts about her blend of yoga and pilates gym (Pilaga), Frankie has hundreds of thousands of followers. But when Frankie starts to receive threatening messages from a follower, she realizes that her troubled past is creeping into her new life. When she finds a new cleaner she had hired named Bee sleeping in her gym one morning, she knows what it would mean to this girl to give her a second chance and helping hand. Offering her a place to stay until she can find other accommodations, Frankie doesn't realize exactly who she has let into her life. Because Bee is hiding some pretty dark secrets herself..

I did like this book but I found some parts of it to be a bit predictable. This genre is one that I read a lot of so it makes sense that I could read something where the trope has been done before. I still really enjoyed the premise and I especially loved the duel POV. I thought that the flashbacks were perfectly placed, seamlessly positioned so that the reader gets bits and pieces of the reveal at a time and it all ties up together in the end. I would recommend this for fans of Daniel Hurst, Nicole Trope, and Shari Lapena.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sophia Spiers, and Joffe Books/Lume Books for this ARC! Publication date is May 1st 2025.

Frankie is a polished Instagram influencer and successful owner of a trendy pilates, yoga hybrid gym brand. On the surface, she’s wealthy and flawless, but she’s hiding a dark past. When anonymous threats begin to surface, her carefully constructed world starts to crack. Meanwhile, her new young cleaner, Bee, has secrets of her own; and things quickly spiral. "I Let Her In" is a fast-paced, twisty read with layered characters, even if some plot points were a bit predictable. Bee was delightfully irritating in that perfectly teenage way, and while Frankie wasn’t always sympathetic, she kept me intrigued.

A solid pick for fans of bingeable thrillers. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. This one was easy to read and a quick read. I love plots with social media involved. I did figure out the twists early, and it was kind of slow to pick up the suspense
