This book was like sitting down and enjoying a real conversation with a friend. Ginny makes reading her books extremely enjoyable, as well as relatable. I really enjoyed the encouragement and support that this book provides. It doesn't feel like shame and really feels like Ginny is in my home letting me know I'm not failing my children.

This is one of the most well-written and researched books I have read about homeschooling in my 11+ years as a homeschooling mom. Filled with encouragement and practical ideas, I would recommend this to anyone interested in homeschooling or homeschooling already. Ginny has, once again, brought her unique journey into the book, paving a way forward for others. Her honesty and rawness make the book super relatable. Read and be inspired!

I was homeschooled all through my K-12 years during the 1980s and have never attended conventional school, so this book was quite a familiar, cosy read for me. Ginny has woven the voices of many experts into this part memoir/ part treatise and makes an intelligent case for home educating. I was brought up in an era when we felt we had to be either silent or defensive about how we were being “schooled”, so it’s refreshing to see how much has changed in 30-40 years. Home educating is now easily accepted as an alternate form of schooling and Ginny explains why. Her personal story of her journey into gaining confidence with homeschooling was very relatable; being a second generation homeschooler has not necessarily made it any easier for me and her bold encouragement is valuable! Highly recommend if you are interested in or want to know more about home education.
